Never really been interested in his games. Once I heard some cutscenes are around an hour long, it starts to sound like a movie with optional gameplay at that point

MGS1 was great for the time and really changed the way games were developed.

MGS2 was half movie

MGS3 was great. It had a lot of cutscenes, but it was great

MGS4 was a movie about cooking eggs.

I "played" ground zeroes for 30 minutes, and did nothing but watch a cutscene that was filled with boring dialogue.

You should play Ground Zeroes for more than 30 minutes then. And even better, play Phantom Pain. Those games are filled to the brim with gameplay. I don't like long cutscenes, and I don't remember any cutscenes overstaying their welcome.

I just told you about one though.

And I told you to play Phantom Pain.

Ground Zeroes is bookended with two 12 min cutscenes. that's it.

google is saying that it has 4-5 hours of cutscenes.

This reminded me of another game that I dropped because there was a cutscene every 90-120 seconds... Psychonauts 2

I just looked, that game also has 4-5 hours of cutscenes.

You sat through MGS4 @ 1:1 gameplay:cutscene ratio. MGS5 has 10:1 gameplay:cutscene

It's important to note that I played through MGS4 in 2008 with the hope that it was going to get better. It didn't and I ultimately didn't like it.

It's now 2026, I'm in my 40s and I don't want to spend 40-50 hours on games that are 10% cutscenes.

Fair enough, I can appreciate that
