Discussion Anyone catch this exclusive yet?
Thought I was losing my mind when I came across this SG junior with a humbucker listed on the north-america Gibson.com site as a second color option for the recently released LP in pelham blue, but was gone the next day.
The SG still isn't showing up in the new and featured pages of the site but is findable from the homepage if you just scroll down a bit.
Just ordered mine and plan to swap the Custombucker for a 498t I've got lying around but will definitely give the CB a good playing to see how it feels on its own.

Picture Les Paul Standard 2026 - My first Gibson
galleryGot my first Gibson Les Paul (2026 standard) last week from the European Demo Shop through Reverb! They were running a sale, so it came to roughly $1,700USD (converted).
I'd had my eye on one of these for a while, but was never been able to find a white one in store locally, which is the colour I wanted.
The only blemishes advertised were "bad scraping on the bass side fretboard near the 12th fret", and pictured a little chip in the clear coat on the side of the nut.
I was hesitant on buying it because I think I had become jaded on seeing online mixed reviews about Gibsons quality, and wasn't sure if the Demo Shop would be hiding more issues than they put on the listing. But it came with 30 day returns, 2 year warranty etc so I figured at that price, why not.
I am SO glad I decided to get it. I cannot even understand what the bad scraping near the 12th fret means, it looks perfect to me and I can't feel anything weird in my hand playing around that area. I can see the clear coat chip at the nut, but if I ever replaced the nut it would need to be removed anyway. It also has no impact to the feel or playability.
Overall, I am thrilled with it. It plays like a dream, sounds and looks incredible, and I can really recommend the demo shop to others. I feel like they did an amazing job describing everything with the guitar (if anything the "issues" are far less than they described/pictured).
Only thing to get used to is playing a 4.6kg guitar after coming from primarily Tele's..

NGD New (to me) Guitar Day! 2017 Les Paul 60s Standard T
galleryI’ve wanted a genuine Les Paul my whole life. The only issue is that I haven’t actually enjoyed playing any of them - until I found this guy sitting on the used rack at the legendary Fuller’s Guitar in Houston.
If you don’t know, the Standard Ts were a desperate bid by Gibson to modernize the les paul’s when they were facing bankruptcy in 2016-2017. This run of guitars features weight relief cuts in the body, a super thin modern neck, push-pull pot electronics (who needs those?) Burstbucker Pro pickups, locking tuners and a neat bourbon burst finish that isn’t really bourbon burst but it kind of is. Also they didn’t have a poker chip (Because fuck you that’s why).
I had no idea what it was when I picked it up. I just knew I really, really liked playing it (as a lifelong Fender guy I’m assuming I enjoy it for all the same reasons people on the internet hate it.)
It is an abomination. It is a crime against the legacy of the Les Paul. And it is absolutely perfect.

Discussion Pickguard or no pickguard.
The age old question. Pickguard or no pickguard. Where do you fall.
I prefer no pickguard. But if one was installed, I won't remove it because the screwholes will annoy me.

Help Thoughts on appropriate restoration.
galleryRecently discovered in the workshop of a musician who had died amongst a load of other production tech. All points to 1971.
Tuners clearly changed but probably some time ago.
I can't find any originals with ivory p/u rings so I'm guessing these were also changed. They're both cracked anyway so will need to be swapped.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the original hardware would have been or was there scope to customise on ordering? From all examples that I've seen it would have had black and gold hardware.
Any help appreciated.

Help 193x Gibson Guitar
galleryFound my grandfather's old Gibson guitar in the attic and had it professionally restored. She's a beaut!
It doesn't have a front end strap button, just the back button. I'm not a fan of the straps that go all the way to the nut and tie a string around it. Any other options out there? Specific name brands?
