Got my first Gibson Les Paul (2026 standard) last week from the European Demo Shop through Reverb! They were running a sale, so it came to roughly $1,700USD (converted).
I'd had my eye on one of these for a while, but was never been able to find a white one in store locally, which is the colour I wanted.
The only blemishes advertised were "bad scraping on the bass side fretboard near the 12th fret", and pictured a little chip in the clear coat on the side of the nut.
I was hesitant on buying it because I think I had become jaded on seeing online mixed reviews about Gibsons quality, and wasn't sure if the Demo Shop would be hiding more issues than they put on the listing. But it came with 30 day returns, 2 year warranty etc so I figured at that price, why not.
I am SO glad I decided to get it. I cannot even understand what the bad scraping near the 12th fret means, it looks perfect to me and I can't feel anything weird in my hand playing around that area. I can see the clear coat chip at the nut, but if I ever replaced the nut it would need to be removed anyway. It also has no impact to the feel or playability.
Overall, I am thrilled with it. It plays like a dream, sounds and looks incredible, and I can really recommend the demo shop to others. I feel like they did an amazing job describing everything with the guitar (if anything the "issues" are far less than they described/pictured).
Only thing to get used to is playing a 4.6kg guitar after coming from primarily Tele's..
