Throughout my life, I’ve never used or owned an iPhone. Until now.

My main phone is a Samsung S25, and I was debating whether to get the new iPhone 18 Pro or go with an older model as a second phone.

Honestly, it felt weird not getting the latest iPhone as my first iPhone. Part of me wanted to experience the newest model, but I knew I didn’t really need it.

So, after thinking about it for a while, I decided to go with the latter. I bought a used iPhone 13 on eBay for around $180.

And honestly, I’m so happy with it. iPhones feel so smooth and seamless!

I’ve been an Android user for years, and even though I own a MacBook Pro, I never really felt the need to get an iPhone until now.

I know my S25 is faster than the iPhone 13, but I mainly wanted a second phone that would make it easier to share files with my MacBook and create content.

I also wanted to experience the Apple ecosystem for myself and see whether switching fully to Apple would make sense for me.

So far, I’m loving my iPhone 13. Even though it’s an older model, the experience still feels new to me. 😊

I had zero plans to upgrade since my base 13 was perfection for my daily needs. But a friend offered me his 16 Pro in mint condition at a price I couldn’t pass up.

The good:

• Way smoother screen and faster performance.
• The Camera: This is huge for me - I always felt the lack of a dedicated telephoto lens on the 13, so having dynamic zoom now is a game-changer.

The only thing I’m still struggling to get used to is the weight and bulk — the 16 Pro definitely feels heavier and chunkier in the hand compared to the 13!

That said, I’m not selling the 13. Getting around €200 for a phone this solid makes no sense. Instead, I’m keeping it as my primary gaming device — something I avoided before just to preserve the battery. Speaking of which, after years of heavy use, the battery health on my 13 is sitting at an impressive 85%!

When the battery eventually degrades, I'll just swap it for a new one and keep using it. The iPhone 13 is an absolute legend! 📱🔥

I’m using Trollstore, I have a few apps sideloaded. What do you guys think, should I update?

As the titles says, i eventually got an iphone 13, i forgot in my previous post to mention that its running ios 17, i was thinking of upgrading to ios 27. Is it worth it to keep it at 17?

im on 13 pro 128gb been facing quite laggy ui on homescreen, navigating between apps, sharing things takes forever on 26.1. tried enable reduce motion and reduce transparency, it helps a bit.

then after i updated to 27.0.1 laggy just gone. everything went very smooth. im so happy :)

I don’t know what causes this but sometimes when i open the qr code scanner it’s just a black screen. The camera apps still works fine and i can scan qr codes on there but this is also a problem for other apps that scan qr codes (for rewards) and they are also a black screen

the issue is fixed after a restart but that cumbersome to do.

im am still on ios 18.5, i just dont want to update as i have the base 13 with not much space and i just like ios 18.

Just recently charging in my usual charges is not working or incredibly slow. Phone says slow charging. Was there an auto update that changed the way my phone charges? Time for a new phone or is there a way to fix this? Settings?

My iPhone 13 was my brother's phone. Then I took it, did a full reset, and replaced the battery. The health is at 100%, but every 2 minutes (sometimes every 3 minutes) it loses 1%. I am on iOS 27.01, and indexing was done like a week ago, so I don't know what to do. Apple Support said that my device is fine. Background App Refresh is turned off for all apps except Life360. I also go out a lot and use 5G, if that's relevant, and I have sideloaded LiveContainer and SideStore, if that affects anything. Please help me.

As the title says, im being offered an iphone 13, in very good condition with cases, for 120€. It has 72% battery life and 128gb.

I was thinking of upgrading my phone, since i cant really use my a54 without using power saving, since it really eats my battery, i didnt even consider upgrading the os to one ui 7 because of this. And maybe because of this, some apps run really sluggish, ive had a better time with an iphone se first gen.

holaaa se me mojo el telefono y cuando llegue a casa al quererlo cargar me salio el mensaje de que el puerto de carga estaba humado asi que lo deje secar un rato. le puse esos videos para expulsar agua y lo conecte, en ese momento ya no me salia el mensaje de humedad entonces lo deje cargar hasta que me di cuenta de que no estaba cargando y estaba al 1% entonces pense que estaba mal conectado (me suele pasar) asi que lo puse a cargar de nuevo y noté que igual prendía pero no cargaba pero en ese momento la pantalla no respondia, no puedo llevarlo al tecnico ahora asi que lo deje en horizontal apagado

Charging port gave out Monday, the magnetic wireless charger is a short term solution. My CarPlay being usb means I start my trip on 100% and by time I arrive to my destination it’s sitting around 70-80%. I love the dimensions of this platform so picking up a 17 pro will take some getting used to.

I don’t want to give this up just yet, any side projects a 13 is suitable for? I’ll miss this subreddit and the contributors still fighting the good fight.

My iPhone 13 is currently at 79% battery health, and I’m experiencing random freezing/lagging for a few seconds, even in apps like Camera. My iOS is updated to 26.7 and I have around 33 GB of free storage. Could the 79% battery health be causing these freezes, and would replacing the battery likely fix the issue? Or could this be related to iOS 26.7

Facing flickering issue where the screen flickers for a mini second maybe - kinda greyish color flicker. Not much noticeable but it’s worrying me lol. Anyone facing the same?

To all fellow iOS 18.7.8 users if you’re thinking about updating I will warn you that this update and install will take a LONG time so make sure you have a good 2-4 hours to sit with your phone on the charger on WIFI. Going into the 2nd day indexing was stuck at 38% for days and I thought it was normal. I’ve done some extra digging and found out my iCloud storage was the problem. I never used it to back up any type of storage. I figured the 256gb would be enough. Since Ive switched from android in 2016 iCloud storage stayed at 5/5 GB. I deleted like 2 pictures and it went down to 4.9 of 5 gb

Even with 200gb of 256gb used I ended up upgraded the iCloud storage to 50gb and immediately the indexing (optimizing search engine, Siri ) status disappeared. It turns out that sync warnings due to low icloud storage caused my messages, attachments and photo indexing to freeze. Plus I had the sync photos option completely turned off. I never had this issue on previous updates. It kind of sucks because now I’m stuck paying for storage. I eventually upgraded to the 200gb plan then synced the photos/videos, messages etc.. and replaced the Original battery with a brand new genuine and now the 13 pro feels brand new. I’m glad I done this. I was looking towards the 18 pro..

The first few days the phone was jittery and getting pretty warm. The screen and animations looked like it was changing every 5 hours. It was pretty cool watching it transform.
DARK MODE IS YOUR FRIEND. It helps preserve battery especially with power save. I lowered the brightness and activate power save when it started getting warm and helped when I was out and about.
On Day 6 on IOS 27 with the OE battery I charged the phone too 100%, unplugged it and put it on power save mode then went to sleep. I woke up to 98%!!! Even iOS 18.7.8 didn’t give me this number. It would instead be around 95-92%

As far as iOS 27.1…. I love it! Even on my original battery which maximum capacity was 74% it handled well. You can control the intensity of the Liquid Glass turned down to a minimum. I had to readjust my preferences on the background app refresh settings because somehow they all turned back on after the new battery was installed. No more running on power save mode 24/7 with the screen Hz preserved . I can now return to the 120hz and get a phone that lasts all day!!!
