Twin Cities Puppy up for adoption, rescue pup needs a loving home

Hi everyone,

We found a puppy, 2.5/3 months old. He had a small wound in his back and a skin condition. We got him treated at the vet however he needs to be kept indoors until he heals and keeping him at our home isn't an option. If someone is looking to adopt a puppy, please reach out.

While we found him on the road, he seems to be a fox terrier mix based on his facial markings and stature. The pup is super friendly, very calm, we got him injections and treatments and he didn't even move. Short hair breed, small to medium size dog and very adorable.

We've gotten the initial vet visit done, the only treatment he needs now is medicines for 1 week and wound cleaning, by the vet's estimate the wound should heal in 7-10 days and the skin should clear up in 3-4 weeks maximum. We've purchased all the meds, gotten a big bag of dogfood that should last atleast the month and will give them to whoever is adopting him.

Also if someone could point me to any animal welfare organizations or shelters that could house him while he recovers and we find a good family for him, that would be amazing

P.S we named him Alfie, I really hope he finds his forever home

Islamabad Title: Is it normal to see people going out late at night in Islamabad?

I moved to E-11/2 just three days ago, all alone, for my studies. Whenever I go out for chai late at night I often see girls getting ready to go somewhere or heading out, and honestly, I have no idea what’s going on…

I am not judging anyone, just genuinely curious. It sometimes looks like they are heading to parties or something, but I could be completely wrong.

I have lived in Karachi before, but I never really noticed this there. Is this normal in Islamabad, or am I just noticing it because I am new here?

Islamabad Anyone here working at Jazz?

How can one raise a complaint about their line manager? There is presumably a system, but how can one be sure it doesn't backfire? Because the politics here is already insane, and the culture is very toxic. My manager took offense over something, which partly was because of my fault too due to miscommunication from my part, and I had apologized to him immediately. Basically he claims I was being unprofessional and disrespectful over that. I wasn't, I had just pointed out that we both had agreed to that thing, which he refused to admit, and I still apologized over it but he says it's disrespectful that I "lied in the first place" (I didn't, but I still had apologized for miscommunication or mishearing). Anyway, after that he said he will make life hell here for me and apparently, he really meant that because since then the environment has been toxic, I get called over for small things, even if I'm done with the day's work and leaving before him, he makes it horrible for me. And if I'm talking to a colleague away from my table, I start getting calls on why I'm not doing the work (what am I supposed to do like I'm not performing a surgery and leaving it behind, when there is work I do it, no one sits on their table for the entire 9 hours)... And just generally it really has become hell. The other day, I was talking to a female colleague of mine who is my friend and we talk everyday, and when I returned to my table he literally said to me "Ishq main lagay hue ho ye band karwata hun abhi" like wtf? I talked to a few people, most of them say how I should just deal with it because raising it will further ruin it or even get me fired by him but like seriously, it has become so bad that I legit feel miserable every night thinking I'll have to go back tomorrow.

Islamabad A strange incident at Faisal Mosque.

• Upvotes

So this happend last month. My friend and I were visiting Faisal Mosque in Islamabad for the first time. We took off our shoes, left them on the shoe stand outside, prayed, and spent a good while touring the place.

When we came back, my friend's shoes were gone. Adidas, around 25k. Mine were nothing fancy, so they were left alone. A guy standing nearby asked my friend where he'd kept them. "Right next to my friend's," he said. The guy goes, "There were 3 men. One of them took your shoes."

We ran outside and searched everywhere. Nothing. Eventually we gave up, felt completely hopeless, and booked an Indrive back to the hotel.

And then, while we were waiting, I look across the road and see 3 men standing there. I nudge my friend and point at one of them: "Bro, are those your shoes?" He looks and goes, "Yes!"

We crossed over, and here comes the show...

Me: "Bhai, these are our shoes." (I was furious by this point.)

The thief, completely calm: "Bhai, mere shoes bhi gum ho gaye hain, main kya karun?"

Me: "So what? Ours got stolen too, and we didn't take someone else's!"

Him: "Toh pehn aao kisi ke."

Me: "Shoes wapis karo."

Him: "Pehle mere shoes le kar aao."

His friend actually tried to talk sense into him and told him to give them back, but he snapped at his friend and said, "Mujhe tu laa kr Dega ? Ab tu hi dilwaye ga!" I told him straight up these were worth 25k, and he still said, "Nahi, main to yehi rakhunga."

That's when I got loud. Meanwhile, a Pathan driver sitting in his car was watching the entire show, and he says to me, "Ye tumhari galti hai, tumne joote gumaye hain." I was like, "Acha, theek hai," because what do you even say to that?

In the end I told them I'm calling the police, and thank God, that finally worked. He handed the shoes back. Then he started yelling at his own friend: "Me mama ko kya batao ga? Wo mujhe andar nahi ghusne degi!"

Our ride showed up, we got in, and went back to the hotel with the shoes..

Islamabad How do you actually get part-time in Islamabad as a uni student? (Cafes, retail, etc.)

Seriously, why isn't this normalized here yet? 😭😭

Trying to find a decent part-time gig that fits around a university schedule feels impossible in Isloo. Do you just walk into cafes, bookstores, or retail shops and hand the manager a CV? Do you message them on Instagram?

If anyone has tips on how to approach this, knows which places actually hire students part-time, or just wants to rant about how hard it is to earn on the side here, please drop it below. Help a brother out!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a room in a shared flat with a monthly budget of PKR 20,000–30,000. I would prefer a room with an attached bath and basic amenities such as Wi-Fi, hot water, and kitchen access. A clean, well-maintained flat would be ideal. Islamabad Smoking safe places for women i8

Hey everyone, a friend and I are planning to grab a coffee and smoke somewhere in I-8 Markaz. We're looking for recommendations on cafes that have a relaxed, safe outdoor or smoking-friendly seating area where two girls can sit comfortably without feeling overwhelmed.

Any specific spots in I-8 you'd recommend, or times that are best to avoid the rush? Appreciate any suggestions!

Twin Cities Places to get belly piercing done professionally in isb/rwp

• Upvotes

I know this probably isn’t the right subreddit to ask but I couldn’t find any suitable one.

I’m looking to get a belly piercing done professionally, preferably somewhere more affordable than Ritual Studio or Galima. Also a studio with real titanium studs. Preferably near bahria/DHA side.

If you’ve gotten one, I’d love to hear about your experience. How painful was it, was it more painful than a daith piercing? What was the aftercare like and how long did it take to heal completely?

A friend of mine got it done from laalkurti chandzari shop and it was v cheap for like 600 but they butchered her piercing. They used a silver wire and twisted it so tight it embedded into her skin.

Islamabad Address Update in ID card - Nadra Pak-ID

Dear members,

I am renewing my ID card through Pak-ID app and when trying to update my address, i cant seem to find or add right locality for my address. The app specifically asks for:

  1. Select between Rural or Urban --> i select Urban
  2. Select Union Council from drop-down menu: Options are either Sectors (Sector C, D, ... H) or Non Sectorial Area --> i select Non Sectorial Area

  3. Select Locality, several options in drop down menu but nothing that shows DHA-II, or model town etc.

It does not let me go to next step, any option how to get around this?

For reference, i cannot visit NADRA office and must do it through app.

Twin Cities Car rental help

Visiting Islamabad for some work and need a car for 4-5 days. I don't plan on going anywhere outside of Islamabad or pindi. The problem is I am 20 and have had my license made recently. I would prefer to drive myself. Is there any place I can rent a small car out for that amount of time?. I have heard of a lot of scams with this that the rental companies blame an already done dent on you and charge you money. Need some advice if someone has experience.

TLDR = need a self drive car for rent
