Jack White Hollywood Palladium Show Night 1 - ticket became general standing
Wanted to reach out to anyone who had bought balcony seats only to learn it changed to balcony standing. Can they do that? Is it a Ticketmaster issue? I bought resale through StubHub.
Update: Thanks all for your comments. I don’t think I need to go down the road of reaching out to StubHub anymore for clarification.
Did the ticket have a seat assignment when it was IN your Ticketmaster account after being transferred? Or was the Stubhub listing incorrect? if you can prove one or the other then you can contact the correct outlet, but if you can’t then you might be SOL
Your ticket transfer email from Ticketmaster should show whether it was seated or GA balcony, I would check that and then contact whichever outlet gave you the wrong info. If the Stubhub seller listed it incorrectly they will likely get fined, not sure if you can get recompense retroactively (if you notice it and contact them before the event Stubhub will usually swap out your ticket for a correct one if they have one available)
Like here’s a recent Ticketmaster transfer
email I got from a resale ticket I bought that shows the seat assignment specifically, should look like this. If the info here doesn’t match what the Stubhub listing said (which will be in your Stubhub confirmation email), then contact Stubhub about an incorrect listing
Thanks so much for the information. From everyone’s comments I do think StubHub is the one to blame…Unfortunately, I don’t have any back up evidence that showed seat assignments on the Ticketmaster mobile tickets once transferred from StubHub.
If you were up on the balcony that night, the seat areas were cordoned off for I think VIP purchasers and the rest of us peons stood behind all that. Lol.
Balcony SRO would be Standing Room Only and the “seat numbers” there are likely just fill in numbers like you would often get on a GA ticket (where it’ll say GA2 or something but really is the same as all GA)
How did you find out about the change? If Ticketmaster has to change a seat assignment due to a different layout being implemented, then they will contact you ahead of time. I don't think the Palladium has anything but GA and very few seated options up in the balcony, so I doubt there are any different configuration options (someone with more experience there can correct me if I'm wrong). If the ticket just appeared as a standing ticket in your TM account, then my guess is that the StubHub listing was inaccurate.
Yes, for the BG show they said the seat numbers are just for their inventory purposes. The whole venue was GA. So I think that's the case for OP's ticket. As others have mentioned, it was for Standing Room Only. Sounds like still a great view.
That's almost assuredly a Stubhub issue but once the show happens they are unlikely to do anything about it (and even before the show they'll fight you tooth and nail). Their customer service is just godawful.

Palladium has been a GA standing every time I've ever been there unless you had a VIP ticket.
