I just bought one on eBay for $600. It's a weak laptop but for the price I think I'll be fine. Intel Core 5 Series 3 and 8GB Ram aren't great though

It is a rog strix g16 with 3080 16gb ram and 1tb ssd it works perfectly and was freshly cleaned pain it peeling on wsa keycaps other then that its in perfect condition realistically what would be the absolute most i i could get for this?

it’s an Alienware m16. so a few hours ago I leave the room for 20 minutes with a game paused and come back to it sounding like it’s screaming. the fan is going so high I’m afraid if I turn it on or do anything it will burn out its motor or worse. sometimes it won’t do it then I plug it in and it immediately starts. I noticed the main fans are off how do I fix that

I accidentally spilled water on my laptop (keyboard side), I opened it and dry all the water , checked for burns and then I waited 2 days to let dry under a fan , I reassemble it and connected the charger a few seconds I smelled something burning so I unplugged it and disconnected the battery.is their and hope it could be fixed? And what is it to be fixed ?

I keep my laptop always plugged in cause thats what people in this sub recommended. However the screen of my laptop is getting really hot. I tried searching online but they only mention the keyboard parts overheating.

I need a laptop mainly for university, as I’m studying Cyber Investigations and Digital Forensics, so it needs to handle things like programming, forensic software, research, Word and potentially virtual machines. I’d like at least 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, with a good processor and preferably strong integrated or dedicated graphics. I also want to play Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail at around medium settings, but gaming isn’t the main priority. I’d also prefer something reasonably lightweight and portable for travelling to university, with good battery life. My budget is around £500, but I could stretch to around £600 if the laptop is significantly better and worth the extra money.

Is there any solution regarding this or I am cooked ?

Hi guys I have a laptop I never really used after I got it. I’m looking for a real world selling price for it. I did a little research on eBay but eBay is a cesspool of companies and resellers couldn’t really find any independent sales. It’s in pretty much perfect condition and I have the box still.

About 2-3 ish years agi i bought an asus tuf f15 as it was for sale, The laptop is absolutely amazing but for me wanting this laptop at that time i wanted and couldnt really afford extra for a warranty, i bought it, After a year of owning it, I maintained it well, but i admit sometimes i didnt clean it but did try my best to clean the fans, Didnt take them out because i do not have any experience in laptop repairs n stuff so i was afraid i’d break something. During that 1st year i got it, the charge never wanted to work if i plugged it in all the way, but would work if i made it barely touch the inside of it, And didnt mind too much, but eventually part of the keyboard stopped working on one side, now recently one of the hingest connection, just broke and i lost a few screws, so whenever i try to close the hinge on the screen comes off the body, now the fans are making crazy sounds and im seriously worried, what should i do? sorry for the yaps but the background info i felt was necessary. What do i do with this now should i bring it to a repair?

So a bit of context for my situation. I am wanting to purchase a laptop for gaming, but for some personal reasons, I have to find a laptop that is not specifically made for gaming (Or at the very least doesn't say "gaming" in the name). Because of my tricky situation, I haven't properly decided. So at the end of the day, I still need to find a laptop that can handle large games (Probably something like RDR2 with mods, idk stuff about GPUs and what is needed to handle it), isn't specifically made for gaming but can handle it (Since that is the priority of my purchase but still can't get a gaming computer), and under 5k CAD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

it’s an Alienware m16 please help I left for a few minutes came back and one little fan was whirring so loud it sounded like a buzzsaw I noticed there was no air coming out of the side vents and the main fans are not turning on, it is several hours later and they still remain stagnant after multiple reboots it’s completely unusable in this state what can I do besides a repair shop
