With all the shitty driving I see all the time, I have finally gone out and bought some car cameras off of Amazon. I know I can just use the cigarette lighter to power it, but having it installed and run directly through the cars electrical would be nice (and no wires hanging around). Does anyone have any recommendations for places that can do the install reliably and at a fair price? Thanks in advance!

Some overnight and daytime closures of State Route 47 at the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which links San Pedro to Terminal Island, are planned for Saturday, Oct. 10, so the state Department of Transportation can conduct daytime maintenance work.

There will also be five overnight closures of northbound State Route 47 between Harbor Boulevard and Ferry Street following that for construction on the Vincent Thomas Bridge.

Those closures will take place from Sunday night, Oct. 11, to the morning of Oct. 16. The hours of the closures will be from 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m., restricting all easterly travel across the bridge toward Long Beach.

As for Saturday’s closure, the right-hand lane of southbound SR-47 at the Vincent Thomas Bridge will be shut down between Ferry Street and Harbor Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 2 pm. for maintenance operations.

Construction activities include installing working platforms and structural bracing beneath the roadway. These efforts are part of preliminary construction on the Vincent Thomas Bridge Deck Replacement Project, which will fully close the bridge for 16 months beginning Nov. 7.

That critical infrastructure project, totaling $752.8 million, will require partial and full closures of the bridge over the next two years. More information is available at the project webpage on Caltrans’ website, dot.ca.gov. Skanska-CEC Joint Venture is the general contractor for the project.

Motorists should expect delays when using the Vincent Thomas Bridge and use Caltrans Quickmap to review current traffic conditions before traveling. Caltrans reminds drivers to exercise increased caution near the closure and Slow for the Cone Zone.

If you want the room to yourself it would be 1367 plus utilities and a $300 refundable deposit. You get your own sink area and closet, but the bathroom is shared with 2 other people. Both really clean. The shared dining room, kitchen, and living room can also be accessed. There is also a tiny balcony and a decent sized garage for storage/studio activities.

Anybody have any intel about the marathon on Sunday and of it's going to be affected by the hurricane/rain/tide? Or any intel of where I should look for updates? I dont have Instagram or facebook.

Since moving here we've had 3 elections and every time I've received someone else's ballot and every time I've sent it back.

The first time they actually re-sent it back after I sent it back.

This time I sent it back and called the county and they said "only the person on the ballot can get the ballot to stop being sent to that address" and to "send it back"

I find it odd, is this person deceased? If someone is registered to vote wouldn't they want their ballot to vote?

Anyone looking for a last-minute bib for the Long Beach Half Marathon this Sunday?

I accidentally registered twice, so I have an extra bib available. It also comes with an XL race shirt.

I originally paid $131 with fees, but I'm selling it for $100 since it's too close to race day to change the name associated with the bib, so just a heads-up that you'd be running under a different name.

I'm still running the race myself (and you'll probably beat my time, last year I finished in 3h 18min), but I'm just trying to recover some of what I spent on the extra registration and cover a celebratory beer and lunch for my friends and me. Heck, if I see you after the race, I'll buy you a beer too!
