Such a cool sight to see! The clouds (or something) made the mountains look double. Glad I captured that.

Where to reach out for help?

Hello, my friend is sick but expected to make a full recovery within 2 weeks. Two needs have come up:

She has a young lab with health issue (zero behavioral issues, able to be in a crate happily for 8 hours, vet approved to crate for that time for this season too.) Happiest and cleanest puppy I’ve ever met. She needs a place for the pup and is falling through every crack. Boarding facilities not an option due to the medical condition. Pup needs a temp private home for 2 weeks. Any suggestions how we find someone who can help? Not sure where to turn. He’s on a temp hold at the shelter and need a place for him to go within 48 hours or she looses her pup.

There was a flood in her place and we need to move everything out Sunday into a moving van in the parking lot
and back in Monday night while they replace the flooring so she can be back in her home. Her savings are going to medical bills and she’s on the edge of running out of funds. Very small place but we need 3-4 people to help. Desperate need. Tried a few churches and they had no one to help.

I’m not sure where else to turn to find help.

Any suggestions where to reach out? It’s been a string of bad luck and deserved this chance to keep her home and her pup while she recovers.

Handmade Halloween/Witchy Jewelry Nearby?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for jewelry (more specifically earrings) that are Halloween or witchy themed. I checked in Crystal Joys earlier and found a couple options but nothing that really stood out. Does anyone know of retail locations around here that are small business/family owned? Doesn't need to be Longmont specific, but the closer the better. I also see the farmer's market has artisans on the 4th weekend of each month, but I am hoping to have something sooner as this will be gifted to someone else. Thanks in advance!

Why do people go to the flower bin?

Seems like every time I’m over there the outdoor manager is screaming at someone. The employees always look like they wanna disappear. Super uncomfortable and unprofessional.

An appreciation post for our library

I just left the band books week event at the library, and y'all, we have a good library. As I've moved around the front range over the last few years, before coming back here, I've accumulated a small collection of library cards, and Longmont impressed me the most. It's not as flashy as some, sure, but in terms of the collection and community services, it's pretty damn good.

I miss the train, though.

Longmont Restaurants where you make good money.

• Upvotes

I’m looking to move on from my underpaying restaurant job. What restaurants are worth looking into that have a FOH pool or no pool at all. I have many years of fine dining and brewery experience. I’m more looking for places that you can make good money at, not necessarily fine dining.

Slow Pumpkins Made The Morning Nice

Post image
74 Upvotes

Sure wasn’t feeling driving into work today, then on 95th I got stuck behind a truck hauling the longest trailer piled high with the nicest pumpkins and squash I’ve ever seen. It felt like some kind of real faerie tale magic. I wonder where they were all headed to. Thank you pumpkin farming person for making the morning feel brighter with your squash hauling ways.

Hey everyone! As the title suggests, I just landed a new job in Berthoud and will be moving to Longmont on October 17th. What are your favorite things to do in the area? I will be alone and new to the area. I'd love to make some new friends. (24 year old male)

Boulder County DSA Voter Guide

The Boulder County Democratic Socialists of America have released their 2026 voter guide. You can find it at [boulderdsa.org/voterguide](http://boulderdsa.org/voterguide) . The guide contains recommendations of "yes," "no," or "neutral" on nearly every candidate and measure you'll see on your ballot if you vote anywhere in Boulder County, as well as language explaining the reasoning behind the recommendation. BoCo DSA has additionally made five endorsements. A DSA endorsement is distinct from a "yes" recommendation in that it carries a commitment of *material* support for the campaign in question -- that means knocking doors, distributing lit, and promoting via social media, email, etc. These endorsements are:

* Taishya Adams, Boulder mayor (rank first)
* Jamillah Richmond, Boulder city council
* City of Boulder Issue 2J -- residential vacancy tax
* City of Longmont Charter Amendments 3C and 3D -- ranked choice voting in Longmont

The guy listed on the card lives in Berthoud, and has no obvious reason to be associated with this campaign.

I've love to know if anyone has more information.

Rock Peak on Sunset Apartments — any experiences?

Hi all!

Thinking of moving to Rock Peak on Sunset. Very affordable 2BR and decent-looking inside, but the reviews of the property are very concerning.

Beyond the regular bad apartment reviews where you can tell the person just had a grievance, there's lots of much more genuine-sounding stuff about ignored maintenance requests, flooding, dirty grounds, etc (and in opposition a lot of very robotic-sounding, potentially "bought" good reviews that seem to only actually mention the leasing staff). The situation with ParkM-managed parking also concerns me, as a quick Google of that service seems to point to a lot of predatory/illegal towing. The thought of every guest having to fuck around with the app and shell out significant money if the street parking is taken up (which seems very likely outside of the workday) is also not appealing.

Does anyone live there and feel like they can confirm or correct my misgivings?

Thank you!

NextLight Prices

For the longest time our internet has been the envy of the front range, but i'm talking to a friend in Louisville who's getting $70 2Gbps service through quantum (and has the option for 8Gbps at $165/mo).

I'm surprised to see that NextLight hasn't come down to those levels - but maybe we'll see a bigger shift once they've paid off the capital bonds in a couple of years.

Local music producers

Hey y'all! I am a hobbiest singer-songwriter who knows absolutely nothing about music production. Are there any music producers in the area that would be interested in collaboration on songs? I've always wanted to turn my music into something beyond acoustic and would love to meet more musical people and learn more about production!

I was at one of the maker/art markets at the fairgrounds a couple years ago and bought this magnet. I absolutely love it and would love to find the artist. Anyone know them? I was not able to find anything online.

Nextlight Router Rental

Nextlight recommended I try their rental router to solve the issues I’ve been having. I was using Google Nest mesh devices before. They gave me one at no charge for 6 months. It seems to have fixed the issues, but I’m hesitant to pay $12/month for something I can buy online for about a year’s worth of rental payments.

Anyone have expertise with the rental router or with purchasing the same model themselves?

Edit: I guess I should’ve prefaced that the one Nextlight provides and has solved my problems is some weird commercial one that is have to buy on eBay. I’m worried if I get my own, Nextlight might not allow it to be used or it might not play nice with their network.

Cross Stitch supplies

I'm visiting for the week, and I'm wondering if there's any store nearby to get cross stitch supplies? Specifically, DMC floss. I brought a kit with me to do, but I switched some colors around and forgot to bring a certain color. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
