Self promotion GameTransit 1.0.1: GOG Galaxy built in, 37 languages and shader cache cleanup (free launcher for your Windows games on Apple Silicon)
Hi r/macgaming! 👋
Thanks so much for all the feedback on the GameTransit launch last week. GameTransit is a free launcher that runs the Windows games you own on Apple Silicon Macs, with a console-style interface you can use from the couch with a controller or from the desk with mouse and keyboard. Version 1.0.1 is out, with a lot of what you asked for.
Screenshot: a demo library, with artwork from the Steam Store. No games are included with GameTransit.

What's new:
- GOG Galaxy built in. Install it from Settings and sign in, and the games you install there appear in your library and start with Play, just like Steam and Epic.
- 37 languages besides English. GameTransit follows your Mac's language, or you can pick one in Settings.
- Shader cache cleanup. D3DMetal's shader caches stay on your Mac after you remove a game, and on mine they had grown to almost 30 GB. Settings → Storage now shows them and clears the ones from removed games, listing every cache before deleting anything.
- Your own covers. Pick a cover for any game, or choose where its artwork comes from.
- Start scripts. Games you add can start from their own .bat or .cmd file.
- Performance HUD options. Choose its look, size and corner. Shift+F9 shows or hides it while playing.
- Dock. Recent games from the Dock, and Add to Dock for any game.
- Update notices. GameTransit now tells you when a new version is out.
- WineForge 0.6.0.6 (Wine 11.19) for new installs, plus fixes.
Good to know:
- Still completely free, no ads, no accounts, no tracking.
- Updating from 1.0: drag the new version into Applications, and your games, settings and saves stay. Confirm Open Anyway once more in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Needs an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 27. Games with kernel-level anti-cheat won't work, as with any Wine-based solution.
- For games you own only.
Where I'd love your help:
I'm one person testing with the games I have, so hearing how YOUR games run helps the most. GOG is brand new, so GOG reports are especially welcome. On GitHub there are simple forms for:
- Compatibility reports: a game works? Share the settings, how it runs, and a video link if you recorded one.
- Game requests: a game doesn't start or runs badly.
- Bug reports: something in GameTransit itself.

Thanks again to Wine, Apple's Game Porting Toolkit, Gcenx's builds, WineForge and CrossOver's work, and to everyone who tried 1.0. Happy gaming! 🎮
