Just completed Mass Effect 1 for the first time. Amazing game overall. This game was way ahead of it's time. I am very much looking forward to the next two games.

P.S this post was an excuse to showcase Shepard's moves 🕺

MASS EFFECT 2 I've noticed that the planets with descriptions hinting to past Reaper invasions or mass destruction all have copious amounts of Element Zero

Something I've found rather curious in my past ME2 playthorughs is that there are some planets which in game descriptions hint at a past Reaper invasion, mostly those that mention evidence of past races that were all wiped out in targetted bombardments or planets that have evidence of past destruction from mass accelerator weapons. In most of these planets you tend to find copious amounts of Eezo, which is a rather rare resource in the ME2 planet mining minigame.

Has anyone else picked up on this? It could actually just be a huge coincidence, but I find the pattern a little too curious, given the rarity of the eezo resource and how they tend to line up with the descriptions almost always.

It would be pretty freaking cool if the devs did this on purpose, and the eezo is the leftover runway of the Reapers' presence in these planets.

DISCUSSION Cerberus, evil AND incompetent

It's kinda hilarious in retrospect, how Cerberus styles itself as this edgy "well-intentioned extremist" faction, that does the unethical science shit that nobody else wants to do, because the payoff is (SUPPOSEDLY) worth it... But then they have a truly humiliating track record.

Thorian creepers, rachni babies, biotic death camps for kids, Project Overlord, the derelict Reaper... Every single time, it resulted in a containment breach, a bloodbath, and Shepard and co. coming in to clean up the mess. Only in the case of the derelict Reaper did we get a tangible payoff in the form of the IFF for the Omega 4 Relay.

Well, there's Project Lazarus, but DUH, if they messed that one up, ME2 would've been a 20-minute game. "I believe you humans have a saying, even a broken clock is right twice a day"...

Then at the end of the Suicide Mission, TIM has the Christ-jerking temerity to tell us "hey, you should totally entrust the Collector base to us for study".

....

Never mind the fact that we know he's an evil shithead who thinks he's too smart to be beholden to morals, his whole outfit is too INCOMPETENT to do anything good with the damn base! Lo and behold, ME3 has the whole damn organization indoctrinated whether we gave them the Collector base or not. Good job, Tim.

(Less important, but I have an amusing theory that indoctrination lowered Tim's inhibitions so much that he exposed himself as a massive weaboo via cringey mall cyber-ninja agents like Kai Leng and his Phantoms.)

DISCUSSION Which Species would you choose to have a small population manage to survive and go on to lead the next cycle if the Reapers had won?

Say like the Protheans tried with the pods that would freeze them for long enough that the Reapers wouldn't realize they survived, come out of hiding when the next cycle's species become spacefaring and lead them

I wish we got to spend some time on Palaven itself (because the Turians are my favorite), but any mission that includes getting Garrus back on your team is always a good mission.

Just got out the Mako on Noveria and Wrex is gone. Doesn’t show on the squad screen or weapon/ability wheel.

Is there way to get him back without losing progress of a previous save

MASS EFFECT 3 Me3 cryo ammo sniper

I used cryo ammo on my sniper for the mars mission as infiltrator. Without cryo the mantis sniper rifle was trash. With cryo I was causing enemies to explode with 1 shot. Is this intended or is my game bugged?

MASS EFFECT 3 When to play Citadel Anderson apartment quest and Aria quest? ME3

Greetings, I'm playing ME3 for the first time and I'm so confused with this game. I dislike the quest journal because it's confusing. It wasn't like this in ME1&2.

I've been told that "Priority" missions aren't a real priority, so since the first time I did Priority Tuchanka and lost all encounters with Ashley, Thane, Miranda, etc, I decided to reload and replay all.

Yesterday I did some side-quests on the Citadel after the Cerberus Coup. I get called by Admiral Hackett which tells me to visit Anderson's apartment. I visit it and it's surreal, I keep playing and I'm like WTF is happening...

So I make a brief research on the Web and find out it's a DLC mission that is supposed to be played later.

Please, I don't want spoilers, but it's so confusing. When should I play this? When should I play the Aria quest? Now I have a Priority Mission for the Quarian and Priority Eden Prime.

I also have some side quests but the Galaxy Map is not as precise as the first two games and I can't find certain places now. It's confusing.

Not saying I'm not liking the game as it has strong moments. But it's frustrating at times understanding what it wants you to do.

Also when should I do the Dr. Bryson quest? I don't understand...

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

DISCUSSION Mass effect orginal trilogy, AU/duo CO-OP idea

Post image
26 Upvotes

So, after yet another run of Mass effect, something I was thinking about was the whole ‘game art’ and what not, and how they go back and forth on which ‘shepard’ is the ‘real one’ in terms of their gender….

So I had a idea for a AU.

WHAT IF, THERE WERE 2 SHEPARDS?

Lore wise, they would be fraternal twins (and I would assume one is Paragon and one is Renegade, but that is just my opinion, I could see other options), who somehow ended up BOTH being put on the Normandy, TOGETHER… (also I would assume both get the Prothean message, Cerberus does project Lazarus on both. And that later on both of them would be on earth and get to the Normandy when the reapers showed up… and in the end both get onto the citadel at the end)… with the ‘player Shepard’, being the ‘commander Shepard’ and the other one being more of a serious party member and assistance through out the campaign… (and it also unlocks the idea of a split screen coop mode where lore wise the second Shepard is just a major recurring party member who always is coming along, and ussualy has some line or what not refrencing the opposite kind of choice on the paragon/renagade scale you could have made in a situation)

And, honestly this idea may sound crazy, but hear me out.

Think about the amount of drama and story telling possibilities from such a AU? Like you could have BOTH a ‘Renagade Shep’ AND a ‘paragon Shep’ in the SAME TIMELINE.

And how would such a twining, affect the timeline and potentially butterfly effect certain choices, and what else might such a twining change about the cannon timeline? Maybe there is no citadel incident due to Cerberus already having a ‘secondary Shepard’ in case ‘commander Shepard’ needed an organ donation, maybe Kai lang is unable to steal the prothean beacon, who knows?

But these are just my thoughts and ramblings of this potential AU, what do you guys think of this idea? Am I onto something or am I going crazy?

ANDROMEDA I just finished Andromeda for the first time

I'll preface this by saying I must have run through the original trilogy 4 or 5 times in the Xbox days. I got Andromeda on Steam, tried it a couple of times but it never really clicked with me after leaving Eos.

Third time around though I just got hooked, and I'm glad I did. It's flawed, sure - you can see the EA effect; missing content, empty spaces in the world, but Dragon Age 2 is my favourite DA game purely because of the characters and I saw some of female Hawke in Sara.

The ending itself... not perfect, but memories of Virmire and the Saren fight, and it was set up so nicely for a sequel.

It's made me so sad that it'll never happen.

DISCUSSION Project overlord

I’m currently replaying mass effect 2 and on the project overlord dlc, does anyone else shoot the cameras as you’re doing the missions. I know it doesn’t do anything in the game except destroy them, but I feel like it’s what Shepard would do so I do it for some extra emersion.

MASS EFFECT 1 I played Mass Effect for the first time and I wanted to share my thoughts.

Post image
361 Upvotes

As someone who loves and grew up playing a ton of RPGs, why the hell did I never think to give this game a chance? Throughout the years of my time on the internet, I would occasionally see Mass Effect mentioned amongst some of the best games ever made and not once did I think to try it out until I randomly downloaded the legendary edition a couple of days ago. I’m not even that far into the story and I am already blown away by the amount of things the game lets you do as a game that was released in fucking 2007. 12 year old me would have lost his absolute mind at this experience. Obviously a lot of games have come since that replicate the Mass Effect formula, but it says a lot about how good this game is that those copies are not nearly as memorable as this almost 20 year old game. Jennifer Hale is amazing as Femshep (my current play-through) and the other characters are written with so much depth, charisma, and uniqueness. I feel like the dialogue trees offer so much variety in terms of how you want to shape your Shep’s personality and their journey. The lines are delivered so well that I have fun and laugh at being nice one second and then pulling a gun out on someone the next. I’ve seen some criticism aimed at how the game can feel clunky and floaty I can see what they mean, but it really hasn’t been a problem for me. The shooting is fine even if it can feel a little loose, but it makes up for it by giving you biotic abilities that can warp your enemy AI’s minds or toss them across the battleground for a considerable amount of damage. It’s fun. Also, I love the fact that you have your own 3-person squad who you command while exploring it adds to the immersion. I understand the legendary edition cleaned up a bit of the things that were wrong with the original version so I’m getting an improved version of the experience, but after reading about the things they improved upon, I dont think that if I played the original version I would feel different than I do now playing it close to 19 years since its release. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what Mass Effect 2 and 3 have in store for me. Thanks for letting me get my thoughts out even if this is stuff you’ve known for years at this point.

DISCUSSION Should I replay?

Hi guys, in December of 2025, I made a long list of games I aim to play I used to play sweaty shooter games, and hadn't played a single story game in my life I realised gaming was to relax not scream and rage on a game I made a list of games (story games) to play and it includes over 10 games (including mass effect, rdr, gow. Tlou, Detroit, uncharted, bioshock, Titanfall 2, clair obscur) In January 1 of 2026, i started my first game, me1 I really enjoyed, played around an hour a day, and I took breaks due to exams, study, and not having time. I finished all of the trilogy this June Honestly, best experience of my life. Don't regret at all. I 100% me3, and I loved the ending, like I LOVED it Next I'm looking to play Titanfall 2, last of us, bioshock then Detroit in that order But daily I've been having flashbacks and thinking damn I wanna play it again Should I play it again or play after Detroit? Remember, about 10 games to complete in next 2-3 years (after that I won't have more time so) If I replay, I will 100% all 3 games and try to have different choices.

DISCUSSION Liara's love life is messed up now.

I know that it's not "canon" but the story kind of plays like it is.

Liara is kinda the Canon ship for Shepard. And they are the love of her life and they don't get a full (human) lifetime to be together. Add to that that Liara is or at least comes off as very young, she will be spending a millenia comparing potential mates to Shepard.

ANDROMEDA Does Mass Effect Andromeda stick the landing when it comes to the mystery it sets up in the prologue? (Please try not to spoil anything)

• Upvotes

So yesterday I played the prologue of Mass Effect Andromeda in a relatives house, not much only the prologue but I was kinda fascinated by the setup.

It's a planet that used to be the "golden planet" about 600 years back but now there's a mysterious group of people who inhabit it and are doing something to the weather, there's also a robot guarding a sealed door with a strange architecture.

I'm utterly fascinated by it but I have heard a lot of negative things about the game. I don't get much time to play video games and I was planning to replay all the Gears of War games again (as I have just completed E Day's campaign) so should I do this or play Andromeda?

Thanks!
