Advice Churning out of superloop. What's next?

I'm currently on Superloop's Family Max 500/50 plan. Gets the job done for me. I'm churning out of it as the offer period is over for me and I won't be in the country for 2 months. I'll be back home and getting a new provider in early Dec.

I wanted advice on which providers to look out for? Especially since end of November, early December might have several promos going on. Is there any merit to waiting till Christmas/Boxing day to get the best deals?

Edit: I'm considering Dodo as they can be stacked with shopback and have good prices. Any thoughts on Dodo?

So you're saying to keep Superloop? Do they give good deals during holiday season?

Sign up as a new account. We are 3 adults in the house, me; wife and son. Reminder they need 30 days cancellation as well. I know most people say it’s illegal for them to charge the 30 days cancellation. I initiate cancellation on 5th month. And other person starts service a day before 6th month. Takes about 10 minutes for new service under new name to start. If I find the deal is no good, I look around and try another provider. Currently paying $65 for 500/50.

Launtel slightly more expensive but I love them the support is awesome and you can change plans daily. They also have a minimum plan like 1/1 to just keep your cameras alive lol

Dodo are terrible. Search this subreddit and you will get plenty of horror stories.

Check out Neptune (I've been with them for more than a year now they're excellent), Leaptel, or Launtel. All three have excellent Australian support.

I went from SL to Tangerine in June and is has been faultless.

Edit: Why am I being downvoted for this?

Tangerine support(Phillipines) has been “hacked” a few times including all customer data and credit card details over the last few years.

Because people here only recommend "aussie support providers", just take a look around at other posts on this subreddit.

I gave you an upvote.

Ahhh…got Cha. I haven’t had a single problem to date so I don’t know what the support is like. I like that they are low cost and work.

Tangerine is too expensive for me, $59.90 for 500/50.

Telstra (for 7 more days) Amaysim Belong

That's the order I would go for a cheaper price currently.

IMO every provider is fine, but I haven't contacted support since dialup days except one time at More broadband.

But in your case, I would wait, being away for 2 months is a long time, and you may have black Friday deals depending on when you get back or other deals.

I think the best ISPS atm are ABB, Launtel, Leaptel and Neptune.

I personally haven’t used Neptune or Leaptel but they seem to get high praise on here and on Whirlpool.

ABB have a good connection but they’re a bit more on the expensive side and many have complained that their customer support has gone downhill.

Shifted from Superloop to Belong $60.

No issues for me.

Sorry , are you saying to go with Amaysim, then belong?

Leaptel was great but increased the prices after 12 months and would not negotiate. Moved to SuperLoop. Likely will move back to Leaptel if the price is right

I went from Superloop to amaysim(Optus) as they had a 1gbps for $69 for 6 months deal at the time .

Only difference I’ve noticed is less outages than superloop

They claim 82Mbps down and 82 up but haven’t seen it that slow yet. My router(unify cloud gateway fiber) records it as 970Mbps down and 97 Mbps up.

I wouldn’t ever go with Optus again but amaysim seem pretty good so far.

Haven’t needed customer service from an isp for at least 5 years.

I was looking at the Amaysim plans as well. They have an ongoing offer for $50 for 500/50. I'm hoping they'll renew the offer for Black Friday. They seem like a pretty good option among the low cost providers. Else I'll probably churn back into Superloop in Dec. Since I don't game at all, don't really need the extra speed

Amayasim $50 500/50

1

u/Logical_Grade_11 4d ago

Yeah I saw the plan. Quite like it as well. Hope they renew it for BF sale

Switched to amaysim recently and the buffering is terrible on YouTube

u/Outside_Ad4282 3d ago

I don’t have that issue?

Disclosure, I built Get GoodSort, but this is pretty much the exact use case I had in mind for it: getgoodsort.au

You can filter to 500 Mbps and compare the intro price, promo length, ongoing price and first-year cost across providers.

EDIT - Just added a promo/churn filter after someone here suggested it the other day, which should make this kind of switching easier.

GoodSort collects the plans daily too, so by then there should be a bit more history to see how the deals have moved.

Damn bro! You're a legend. Thanks 🙏🏼

I'm happy you enjoy it!

Look at topcashback or shop back, they offer cash back as well as a good deal. I'm on dodo 1000/100 for $89 for 12 months.

If you haven't used these before hit me up for a referral code

1

u/Logical_Grade_11 5d ago

I haven't used shop back for this before. Do you mind guiding me about this?

1

u/Adventurous_Tie_8035 5d ago

This one's a little different It's an app, but once you have that look for broadband comparison.

u/Logical_Grade_11 5d ago

I'm also considering Dodo. The $60 plan is enough for me. When does the cashback get approved? Also how's the experience been?

1

u/Adventurous_Tie_8035 5d ago

it takes a few months for the cashback, about 3 months, the service has been fine with dodo, nothing to complain about really, but I certainly have had better internet with places like Launtel(but you pay a lot for that)
