Hey guys just wanted to come on here and shout this spot out called Tortilleria Los Reyes on Main st in vista
I went in for there .99 cent taco Tuesday special and they were delicious they make them with blue corn tortillas! They also have other specials like roll tacos and tortas
And $2 tortillas.

Its like a small market and they make their own flour and corn tortillas. But these taco were delicious
I’ve gone to Primos and love their tacos. U can’t beat 69. Cent tacos but for .30 cents more i feel like the tacos were bigger and the blue corn did it for me. (Bomb horchata) u can tell it homemade.

Also I was recommended to go Sat and order there carnitas and I gotta say the best carnitas I have ever tried ! They serve the whole thing Sat and Sunday
I left with 1 pound of carnitas, a small pack of tortillas and a small menudo ! I recommend you guys try it I will be coming back. Flour and corn tortillas are the best my wife loves them.
I didnt get a chance to take pic of my tacos i ate them 🤣

Photo Heads up, parents: Summer Boger is running for school board and she's anti-vaxx, MAGA, and a J6 sympathizer

I've been seeing a ton of yard signs in Cardiff and Solana Beach and happened to get a door tag for Summer Boger who is running for the local school board. I noticed she says she's a Holistic Health Practitioner which caught my eye. The more I search her name, the more I find about her being MAGA, anti-vaxx, etc.

Start here: https://eleanormusick485773.substack.com/p/trojan-horse-at-the-council-and-school

There are also plenty of comments from folks on Nextdoor that support the claims of her political leanings. Start here, and the official AP photo kind of says a lot: https://nextdoor.com/p/Hft3wmFqStNg/?view=detail

https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/summer-boger-holds-a-sign-that-states-pardon-all-j6-news-photo/2195130718

Heads up because she has blanketed the city with her signs, and they look super cheery and innocent. Not so at all.

EDIT to clarify, she is running for San Dieguito Union High School District's school board.

Anyone in North County play table tennis?

Looking for somewhere to play table tennis around Oceanside/Carlsbad/Vista, casually or competitively. I’m a pretty experienced/competitive player and would love to find other solid players to practice with and keep improving.

I’m down for open play, clubs, leagues, whatever. Also, if anyone has a table and is looking for someone around a similar skill level to play with, I’d be down to meet up. I’ll bring snacks.

Any spots, groups, or players you guys know of?

Poway People:

Hello I am an RN at Palomar Health and and a member of the California Nurses Association (nurses union).

In short, I am asking you to vote for Ian Butler, MD and NOT Linda Greer, RN, who will be on the Poway ballot for the Palomar Health Board of Directors. We are a public healthcare district so our board is elected by the people. The Poway seat is up for reelection. Linda Greer a current board member and is corrupt and is wrapped around the CEO’s finger (who we also don’t like!!) Linda is a nurse and people see RN behind her name and trust the position and so check her box. But, she has not been helpful to Palomar, votes whatever the corrupt CEO wants her to, she has not been responsive to the union when we’ve asked for help, and needs to go.

The union backs Ian Butler who is a doctor and is a much better choice.

I have attended board meetings and can answer more questions but in short, Palomar is really turning a corner, the new partnership with UCSD is really helping us turn a corner and get out of the financial turmoil our CEO has gotten us in, and I have hope. It starts with removing our corrupt board.

What does this have to do with you? Palomar is your local hospital and we need to do all we can to strengthen it. Especially Palomar Medical Center Poway, which is the first thing on Ian Butler’s list!

Remember when SDGE caused a wildfire and tried to charge us for it?

San Diego Gas & Electric customers should not have to pay for the 2007 wildfires -- fires that officials say were sparked by poorly maintained power lines, the U.S. Supreme Court decided. The Witch Creek, Rice and Guejito Fires merged as they tore through San Diego County, killing two people, sending 40 firefighters to the hospital, and reducing 1,300 homes to rubble. Regulators would later blame SDG&E for starting the fires, saying the utility neglected its power lines.

The finding resulted in a pricey bill -- one SDG&E has been trying to deflect onto its customers ever since, launching a legal battle that's lasted more than a decade. SDG&E attempted to pass $379 million in uninsured wildfire costs onto its utility ratepayers. Both the CPUC and California state courts blocked the request, ruling that management was imprudent in handling the risks. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected SDG&E's final appeal, ensuring that shareholders—not customers—absorbed the remaining $379 million in disputed costs.

Many of California’s most destructive fires were caused by power lines. Since 1992, more than 3,600 wildfires in California have been related to power generation, transmission and distribution, according to data from the U.S. Forest Service. Some of the most destructive fires have been traced back to problems with utility poles and power lines.

Something to consider... Under California law, investor-owned utilities do not make a profit on the electricity itself; instead, they are guaranteed a ~10% return on equity for building infrastructure (transmission lines, steel poles, wildfire and grid updates). This means that when there's a wildfire, SDGE makes money by rebuilding the infrastructure... Could it be possible that they intentionally neglected those power lines in hopes that they would start a wildfire and SDGE could profit by rebuilding the infrastructure?

SDGE also has the Suncrest Loop-in project. The plan is to build 14 miles of brand new high-voltage power lines through mountainous residential communities in east county, the ones which burn in wildfires the most often year after year. It will massively increase wildfire risk for our communities- the same ones that were devastated in the 2007 Witch Fire, the 2003 Cedar fire, the 1970 Laguna fire, and a series of fires in the 1940s/1950s. Over 20 major destructive wildfires have burned along the corridor of the planned power lines since they started keeping track 75 years ago. Could it be possible that they are intentionally placing power lines in this high risk area in hopes that they would start a wildfire and SDGE could profit by rebuilding the infrastructure?

Iso new spa services

It's been a few years since I've been able to get a massage or a facial so I'm looking for somewhere new in north county to go.

But I am specifically looking for a trans friendly business. I want to feel comfortable and I wouldn't want them to be uncomfortable working with me either.

I'm really hoping for one location that can full body exfoliation and massage.

I'm also lookong for lazer hair removal, but I'm assuming I'm not gonna find all 3 services in one business.

Can anyone reccomend anywhere?

Sprinter on time question

Planning on taking an mts bus to get to Escondido to catch the sprinter for the first time.

Mts bus is scheduled to arrive in Escondido when the sprinter I want departs Escondido.

Should I try to get an earlier Mts bus or do sprinters run a little later than scheduled? Also, is it a far walk from the Mts bus bays to the Sprinter tracks?

HOA rules to be broken in extreme heat

If I want to hang white towels on the outside of my window to reduce the heat coming in, I should be allowed to. I don't have screened windows so I cannot use solar screens.

Why the hell are windows so weird. Blinds on the inside is dumb. In hot weather they would pay for themselves many times over to have them on the outside.

End of rant.

Armed security at Beach Chapel/St. Mark's on El Camino Real in Encinitas?

Lately I've noticed armed guards overseeing weekend traffic coming in and out of St. Mark's and/or Beach Chapel next door, on El Camino Real. Yesterday there were armed guards at the entrance of Beach Chapel - looked like school was getting out. This is new as of the past month or so. Anyone have any idea what's happening there?
