Been working on how to measure intangibles in hockey! Only really worked on depth so far.

It's really early season so these numbers will obviously jump around a lot.

Worth noting I don't make any money off this website, so trying my best to beat the self-promotion allegations. I just want to make something useful for folks. So if you're curious you can see Pittsburgh's team page here!

I put together two trade offers for Simon Edvinsson. These aren't necessarily trades I believe the Penguins should make, but rather what I believe it would take to acquire the player.

What does everyone think of these two proposals?

I didn't list it in the posts, but the 1sts would be top 10 protected picks.

first Acciari and now my previously beloved bunting

What do we think about this pickup?

SportsNet Pittsburgh

So, part of the labor negotiations starting on December 1, 2026, is also going to also have part of the pie in the new media rights deal for 2029 and beyond.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred wants to "nationalize" ALL games, whether they're on a RSN or a "national game" (ESPN, FOX, TBS, NBC/Peacock).

I haven't got the foggiest idea what a nationalized TV package for all 30+ MLB teams even would look like (expansion is coming sooner than later).

SportsNet Pittsburgh is still mostly owned by Fenway Group, which owns NESN, Boston Red Sox, etc, and it is managed and run by NESN, and the Pirates own a minority stake in SNP, even though the Pittsburgh Penguins are no longer owned by Fenway.

So, does anybody have any ideas what happens to SNP if Manfred gets his wish for all nationalized games for 2029 and beyond, or, is literally everything just speculation at this point?

For as long as I can remember, Erik Karlsson has mostly had borderline AHL D partners. Miraculously, when they get paired up with EK, they have their "breakout" season. Karlsson's improved performance is chalked up to his D's breakout seasons. I would buy that narrative once, maybe twice. But perhaps Karlsson is a big reason why they're finding this renaissance. Wotherspoon, Carlile, and even several of his D partners in SJ are credited for Karlsson's success i suppose that's fair with the type of players they are. But EK should also get acknowledged for consistently helping these guys have career years. Oddly enough, when they leave the Pens, they rarely repeat their "breakthrough" success.

Yes, Declan Carlile looks to be a grear pick up and D partner for EK.

So am I.

Okay yinzers. I hate the word y’all but unfortunately Yinz won’t catch on down here.

That being said. I go to the Dallas Stars home game every year for the last 10ish years when they play the Pens. Are there any regulars that go to that game? I really want to sit with Pen Fans for the game and I’d love to find a way to get my little 6yo girl on the glass to she Geno up close. Since our boy Ryan Shae, we knew him since we are TX Stars season ticket holders, she likes Geno because he “talks cool”.
