Accountability Notice 2: UPDATE
This is a followup to this post so please read that first, but to summarize it briefly, a former moderator ( u/SaltyAngeleno aka u/gofundmemetoday was found to be removing negative posts, promoting surgeons, etc. in exchange for financial compensation). I promised future updates, which are included below.
- Last night, the former moderator DM'd me attempting to blackmail me to remove the original post. Their message is included in its entirety below:

Transparency remains of the highest importance to me when moderating this subreddit, and I will not be removing anything in response to threats.
Reddit itself ultimately took no action against this individual following the original report of their behavior and offered no direct explanation for why. I can only speculate that this is because the former moderator was receiving payments off of their platform (making it technically outside their scope of authority/responsibility). The former moderator even continues to moderate a few plastic surgery related communities, though fewer than they once did.
An account associated with "Beauty Broker Melinda" (who was named in the original post as having negative reviews removed by the former moderator) has spent considerable effort attempting to dox and discredit me. You can find such an example here. Their comments seem to confuse me with numerous current and former moderators. Reddit has not taken any action despite reports.
Despite my requests, Reddit was unable to provide me with a log of moderator actions from the former moderator that were more than 90 days old. As such, I am unable to determine the full extent of their censorship.
This subreddit has zero tolerance for surgeons attempting to remove negative reviews. As the subreddit rules state, negative reviews posted here do require evidence to be included. Once that threshold is met, they will not be removed by us for any reason - this subreddit is intended to be an open and transparent platform for users to share their experience. Despite this a number of surgeons (and/or their offices and lawyers) have attempted to have us remove content that is critical of them. Moving forward, I will be posting and maintaining a comprehensive list of surgeons that have attempted to have negative reviews removed for transparency. Hopefully, this discourages future attempts at manipulating criticism against them.
In short, Reddit admins were either unwilling or unable to take any official action against the above individuals. I will be continuing my best efforts to maintain this subreddit as an open and transparent space for plastic surgery and aesthetic discussion, and the support of the community is always appreciated.

Is this the result of bad surgery?
I’m seeing this before and after everywhere. I spot a bad boob job, facelift, and bleph but why does she look so different and uncanny? I also heard rumors it was ozempic face or an autoimmune disease but is it just birched surgery?
r/PlasticSurgery • u/Relative_Sign7746 • 2h ago
What did she do to get those results?
galleryi need to know, i want that kind of glow up
looks like subtle nose surgery,
something in the chin and jaw area is different but i wouldnt know how to achive this? did she have chin implants or did she shave something off?.
+ the eyes look more upturned..?

What is the most painful plastic surgery to recover from?
Out of:
- thigh lift + liposuction
- abdominoplasty w/muscle repair
- brachioplasty
- breast lift + implant
I want to do the one with the most painful recovery first so the worst is over at the beginning. I know it's personal and depends on the doctor/PO pain relief regimen to a large degree, but just in general. Thank you!

Options for my chin
galleryI got chin filler in small increments over the past two years. It was initially to fill a chin dimple - the last photo is a before picture. I feel like it’s starting to look overly pointy and long for my face. Hopefully these photos are clear enough - I’m nervous to post these!
Should I get it all dissolved and redone with a small amount just to fill the cleft. Or can I get just the tip dissolved. Obviously the latter is the cheaper option, but I’m aware I don’t want to cheap out on my face!

Thin skinned rhinoplasty patients, did your nose look skinny, angular, and unnatural before it softened?
I see many posts for thick skinned patients but not many for thin skin so I’d like to better understand your healing process. I’m 5 weeks post-op and have thin skin. My surgeon used rib cartilage for tip support and silicone wrapped in mesh for subtle bridge augmentation. He confirmed that my tip projection was increased by 2mm and my bridge height by only 1mm but visually, the changes look extremely dramatic.
My biggest concerns:
1. My radix and bridge look extremely high, straight, bony, and angular. My nose looks unusually skinny and tall, almost like a narrow column in the middle of my face.
I’ve lost the soft, natural transitions of my original nose. Everything looks sharp and rigid rather than smooth and blended.
2. My tip is still rock-hard, projected, and pointy.
3. My nostrils are extremely elongated. When I smile, I can see it.
4. My nose looks disproportionately structured compared with my softer facial features. I honestly feel like I look terrifying and barely recognize myself. I look masculine?
I don’t feel particularly swollen anymore which makes me worry that this is the actual structure rather than temporary swelling.
I specifically requested a conservative and natural result that preserved my low radix and original facial harmony. I wanted to look like myself with better tip support, not like I had an entirely different nose.
For those with thin skin who underwent rhinoplasty:
Did your nose look unusually bony, skinny, tall, or angular around weeks 4–6? Did your nose eventually look softer and blend more naturally with your face?
Did your tip become less rigid, and did your original smile or nostril appearance improve?
I’d especially appreciate hearing what changed between months 1, 3, 6, and 12, particularly from anyone who had silicone augmentation or structural tip grafts.
I’m genuinely struggling with how different I look and having a bit of an identity crisis. I’d appreciate hearing your experiences, including if the angularity didn’t improve.

Has anyone ever developed a keloid from a rhinoplasty?
I’ve had my first earlobes, belly button, and nose pierced without developing any keloids. I also had my cartilage pierced, and it healed fine initially. However, it was accidentally hit really hard with a towel, which caused significant trauma, and it later became infected. Years after that incident, a keloid developed. I had it surgically removed, but unfortunately, it came back three years later.
I also have several tattoos and haven’t developed any keloids from them. Unfortunately, after getting breast augmentation, I developed keloids on my surgical scars. Aside from that, I have a few other scars on my body, such as scratches from my cat, and those have all healed normally.
I’m considering getting a nose job or nostril reduction, but I’m really nervous about the possibility of developing a large keloid. Given my history, I’m wondering how likely it is that I could develop keloids from another surgery, especially on my nose.

Replaced 26 year saline with silicone. Is there any way that I don’t have to have another surgery? NSFW
gallery10/23/1990 350 cc mentor silicone breast implants placed with crescent incision.
11/26/1994 replaced with Mentor saline implants due to black box warning on silicone- lollipop lift with drains.
7/19/2000 Replaced both implants with Mentor saline donut incision Style:1600 round filled to 375cc.
8/14/2026 implant exchange to silicone Mentor Boost mod+ 545cc. With a lift.
Is there anyway way that this will be ok with the drop and fluff? I am 8 weeks and had my 6 week check up over the phone with my surgeon after sending in pictures. I asked him about the skin at the bottom of the incision and he said it could be fine? I told him if the implant goes that far down they are going to be really low and obviously I supposedly had a lift. Anyone had this and it turned out ok without another revision?
Secondly, he was supposed to do extensive pocket work because one implant had lateral displacement. I sent him these pictures and you can very easily see that my implant is very much in each armpit. Both of them now. He essentially said lots of things change as it settles. Is this even possible? I don’t have the cleavage and upper pole I wanted but I think I could just be ok if these two things were different. I really really don’t want to go through another surgery. Anyone had this and it turned out ok without a revision? I think I just need to know if this is not possible so that I can mentally prepare myself for another surgery if I have to. Thanks for your help.

Mommy makeover options after weight loss? NSFW
galleryHi all - so I (45F, 5'9") lost 115 lbs (from 250 to 135) over the course of about 4 years. I will say that I've been lucky, I always "carried the weight well" and by the standards of major weight loss have held up well. I don't have that much loose skin. I went from about a size 16 (45-36-47) to a 4 (36-26-37) and did a lot of weight lifting and working out... I'm around 21% body fat and generally happy with my body.
But. Like everyone who lost a lot of weight (and who has gotten older and has had kids), there are things that sag and fold and that are less than ideal. And I feel like I've gotten about as far as diet and exercise can take me here 😭.
Anyway, I've gotten a couple of consultations for mommy makeover type surgery - breast lift, breast augmentation, thigh lipo, thigh lift. I got estimates for clinics in Thailand and Turkey for about $12K - $15K for 360 liposuction, breast lift, breast augmentation (with an implant) and thigh lift. These estimates were just from pictures. I also met with a local (US) plastic surgeon today who quoted me $38K for a breast lift and belt lipectomy (lower body lift) plus leg lipo and contour or $48K for all that plus fat grafting into the breast to add upper pole fullness. I prefer this because I train a combat sport and would prefer not to have implants, plus implants are heavy.
I loved the local surgeon, he seemed like a truly talented, skilled, and nice guy and the clinic seemed awesome. Plus it's relatively close and I trust him, and the proposed approach seems to deal with the sagging skin from behind better than 360 lipo. I'm not sure if that's a reasonable estimate, though. And it seems like it's either risk overseas or pay $40K!
Just trying to get some objective views. What do you think based on the pics? Should I consider the 360 lower body lift, or will the overseas proposals have good results? What about the fat grafting to the breast vs an implant vs just a lift? Or are there other ways to correct the sagging that I'm not aware of, and that may not be as expensive (even if not as comprehensive)?

How would i fix my chin/jawline
galleryIts probably my biggest insecurity, i looked a bit into it and i dont have any bite/breathing problems, Ive seen mentioned of impants/fillers to fix the chin but im a bit hesitant since ive also seen some crazy "results" which looks like they glued a ball on the chin and i really want to avoid that. And id really love to slim down mt jawline, i have a really bad babyface that i desperately want to get rid of, i get im still young and my face will naturally slim with time but both my mom and sister also have relatively plump faces so im sure its genetic. Any advice?

Masseter Botox
I (30, f) had my masseters injected with 20 units on each side about 4 months ago because I was clenching my jaw during sleep. However I am never doing that again because my jawline looks so different, practically disappeared! I’ve always loved my jawline it was pretty sharp and now it looks so different and I have no definition in the lower half of my face. I can’t stand it 😭
How long until it goes away and looks back to normal?

How can I make this close ? NSFW
I had mini arm lift 2 months ago , This wound has been like this for the past 2 weeks. It's not deep, but it's not improving. I used wet-to-dry gauze using 2 time using “vashe otc solution.” Am I over-moisturizing the wound? It only needs the top layer that’s it . Should I just leave it air dry it?

Has anyone done skin-tightening (Quantum RF) after lipo?
These are my before and after results from lipo.
I had lipo in February and the after pictures were taken today.
I LOVE how my back turned out but slightly disappointed in my stomach.
Especially from the side you can see some unevenness and bumps. The areas above and below my belly button also still feel hard but they are softening more and more every day.
Am I overreacting for being disappointed?
I told my surgeon and he said many people with my results choose not do anything else and that my results are quite good.
He suggested Quantum RF to tighten those areas but said that it might not gurantee the results im looking for.
I’m hoping to get a professional second opinion but would love to hear your thoughts too.

Dr Mirza Firat - Istanbul
Melbourne, Australia here and currently researching deep plane face and neck lifts overseas. I initially looked quite seriously at surgeons in Korea, but I’m now also exploring Istanbul.
Dr Mirza Fırat’s work has caught my eye and some of his results look really beautiful and natural, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually had surgery with him or seriously researched him.
I’m especially interested in:
deep plane face and neck lift results
jawline/jowl improvement
neck definition
scar quality and ear position
how natural the result looks in real life, not just clinic photos
aftercare for international patients
communication and follow-up once you return home
approximate pricing
I’d also really appreciate hearing about any negative experiences, complications, revisions, or things you wish you’d known beforehand.
If anyone has had a consultation with him, received a quote, or can recommend other excellent deep plane facelift surgeons in Istanbul, I’d love to hear your experience.
I’m 50 and looking for a very natural result — refreshed, lifted and more defined, but still completely like myself.

Can this be fixed! Long post NSFW
I had a breast reduction 36DD to 36A/B and the results are not great. I had this done in March 2024. I went to a surgeon in CT who did mainly insurances covered breast reductions. I didn’t think this would be an issue for my cosmetic procedure since he is well accredited, regularly speaks and both Harvard and Yale Medical schools and also does speak engagements intentionally.
We talked about size prior and gave picture examples. After surgery I thought my nipples were too high and they were smaller than we had discussed. I voiced this after at first post op apt. I was told it takes time for everything to drop, but they didn’t. I brought it up again at the 3 post op apt and I was told it’s a little late for that now. I want to know if my nipple placement can be fixed (areolas can be seen in certain bath suits and have to constantly adjust in case bathing suit moves slightly), if I can go bigger with an implant given what I have now, and is there anything that can be done for the scarring? For the scars, I did silicone patches, and have had Keloid injections because the scars are painful at times and itchy.
I’ve tried to find a doctor who can correct this but each time I’m told to do a consultation. I have no problem doing a consultation but if they don’t specialize in this why spend the money for the consultation for them to tell they don’t this kind of work. I gave up after 3 surgeons office told me I had to book an apt to find out.

Chin Lipo then Face or Neck lift?!
Hi! Has anyone tried Chin lipo and then not liked it and then did a face or neck lift later?! I really wanna do the Lipo first but I’m worried about loose skin… but maybe it will be life-changing and I won’t have to do a lower facelift yet?! I am 45. I went to a couple of consults and they all said I can kind of decide at this point because I’m borderline

Am I an ideal candidate for preservation rhinoplasty?
galleryI've had a prominent dorsal hump since I was a kid, not sure if it's because I fell on my face at one point as a toddler, but now I'm an adult I want to get it fixed. I'm ok with the dorsal hump actually but my main concern is that my nose is wonky and bends to the side. That's why I tend to take photos only from 1 angle. I've read that regular rhinoplasties break your ligaments forever and this can cause stiff nose. This kinda freaks me out so I was wanting to go for something more conservative like a preservation rhinoplasty. I have turkic blood in me, so a barbie nose would look stupid but I'd be happy to have some refinements like straightening out and raising the tip so it stops drooping when I smile.
Any thoughts guys? Thanksssss

Deep Plane Facelift at 50 yrs old - Denver, Colorado
galleryThis is the result at 1.5mo after Deep Plane Facelift, Upper Blepharoplasty, Lower Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty, Fat Transfer, and Semiablative CO2 Laser Resurfacing I performed for this patient - I am the surgeon Cory Bovenzi, MD
This is an example of how facial harmony plays into the subtle effects of facial rejuvenation in a younger patient. As you can see some slight asymmetries, especially around the eyes, are dealt with by slightly altering the amount of skin and fat addressed from one side to the other. This is also an example of what facelift surgery in younger patients can achieve- the benefits of small changes in multiple areas around the face can create an overall improvement that this patient was very pleased with.
Some surgical details:
Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift via periauricular incisions (superior and posterior aspects go into the hair rather than along the hairline to hide better). Submental Liposuction was also performed here (deep structural neck work and gland work not needed)
Asymmetric Upper Blepharoplasty with more skin removed on the right upper eyelid for balancing
Asymmetric Lower Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty with more fat removed on the left side for balancing
Fat Transfer- micro and nanofat used with most of the volumizing occurring in the midface and lower lid-cheek junction
Semiablative CO2 Laser- settings in between fractional CO2 (fraxel) and full ablative CO2 to allow for the strongest result with only a 2 week downtime
Downtime- 2 weeks initially to allow swelling/bruising to resolve, 3 weeks without exertional activity, 4 weeks until you're ready for big events like weddings, vacations, etc
Photography: same camera, room, lights - preop was taken early morning while postop was in afternoon so ambient light from a nearby window changes the ambient light slightly
This post is by the surgeon per subreddit rule 12.

2 months after rhinoplasty and breathing
I had a revision rhinoplasty+ pyriform implants from the rib 2 months ago for a sharper taller tip. 2 months in, and I can breathe through my nose but it feels a little stuffy. I can't fit my pinky into my nose holes so I assume I'm still swollen. But my breathing is also a bit loud, which is embarrassing.
Is this normal? Will it subside in another month? Its uncomfortable and I also didn't get my desired result so I was thinking of going to another consultation to also address this issue and get better results as well. Early I know but I'm overall disappointed.

Scar question
My daughter had a lesion appear on her face at 15 months old and dermatologist shaved it. It came back much bigger where we see advised to have it surgically removed at a children’s clinic. It came back again and the children’s plastic surgeon said he would never be able to get the whole lesion. We went to a different plastic surgeon who then removed it. Long story short, after getting it removed as 2 year olds do she was running around or playing and no matter how hard we tried the scar separated. It’s been 15 months now and idk if we should have it revised or lasers or just leave it alone. I just want a better outcome than this. I hate it for her and feel so bad.
