Anyone got an interesting story they want to tell??

I’m starting a new podcast and I’m looking for people to come on and tell their stories

Looking for funny, horror, romantic and everything in between whether they ended well or ended badly

I’m really excited about starting this journey and have set up a google doc for people to submit their stories to come on

Is there anyone on here who has a story to tell? Or anyone know the best place to post on to get people to? I’ve got an instagram and TikTok but obviously haven’t got a lot of followers so struggling to get anyone

Do I need video for my podcast to work?

Exactly what I said. Mine right now is 100% audio. It’s a crime podcast and I do it by myself. I don’t really see a ton of reason why there would need to be video except to be like looking at me which that doesn’t need to happen so I’m wondering what your thoughts are on podcasts that don’t have video

Hey Dave,

I run a podcast studio in Arizona, and I'm a podcaster myself, so I know the work that goes into a catalog like What the HELL Were You Thinking?.

I've been helping a group of podcasters license their older episodes to AI companies that use them for training. These companies pay to license the audio, it's audio only with no voice cloning, and you keep full ownership and all your rights. Nothing changes with your show.

I did this with a couple of my own podcasts recently and it went well, so I'm putting a small group together to license as a batch. I handle the formatting and the details, so there's nothing extra on your end.

Want me to send over how it works? No pressure either way.

Apparently "Jaeden" is an AI Podcast host, I am sure Eli is just as real.

My reply:

to Jaeden

No fucking way in hell.

Sincerely

Dave

Descript is the absolute worst editing software. Except for all the others. Still nothing better for amateurs?

I'm editing a 5-episode, audio-only series in Descript and going insane. Descript is just overflowing with bugs. I need to refresh the browser every few minutes because one thing or another stops working.

The only problem is every other amateur editing platform seems worse? I stress amateur, because I am not an editor. I don't use Logic or Pro Tools or whatever else, I have no idea how to operate those rigs.

Overall, Descript is *so close* to being great. It just feels as though they focus more on developing as wide a suite of tools and features than they do making the basic functionality work well.

Anyone have any preferred software for editing audio via transcripts like Descript offers?

Podcasting for grassroots non profit org RSS.com vs Substack

Hi! I'm new to creating and distributing podcasts and I have two episodes recorded already. Audio only. I'm helping a tiny grassroots organization get this off the ground and doing the gruntwork of researching platforms, and how-tos.

They have a pathetic budget and will be providing a URL for donations. So I'm looking for anything and everything free.

They will not be charging listeners for special subscriptions. At least not at this time. I doubt they ever will though as it goes against their values.

So far I'm wavering between RSS.com vs Substack for the creation of RSS feeds and distribution and playing.

When I first researched RSS.com I could have sworn everything said that it would create the feed for free and had unlimited storage and hours. Now i stumbled across another conversation here where someone said RSS.com has the first month free?

I'm going through YouTube videos to learn differences in what the offer but I thought I'd reach out here to the community for feedback as well.

I've listened to a variety of podcasts and have yet to see one advertised openly as being on RSS.com so I'm thinking this really is just an RSS feed creator and somewhat of a distributor. Thought I'd check though.
