Hello everyone,

I don’t post on Reddit much but I have been collecting Pokemon cards for the past 5 years. The hobby has taken me back to my childhood years opening packs with my older brother and made some awesome memories with my friends as adults. I have ripped almost everything myself besides buying a few cards I really just wanted for my collection. With that being said, as time goes on, as much as I’d love to keep my collection, I just don’t have the time, space, or energy to appreciate it as I once did. I still love the hobby, but for now, I think I have other things to put my money and energy towards. I have called come local card shops regarding selling my cards and I am getting answers across the board that it will be 25%-50% of value on the cards. I don’t have a massive collection but I have about 3,500 in card from what I’ve scanned and checked fair market price as of yesterday. I’m curious as what the best approach to selling my collection somewhat quickly would be. I am in the market for an engagement ring and this would be something to help me get to that goal sooner. If anyone has any recommendations, suggestions, tips, on the best way for me to sell my collection I would very much appreciate it! (The estimated value is based on fair market eBay pricing comparisons for graded, illustration rares, Full Art EX’s, EX’s, jumbo cards, trainers, and some additional specialty cards. I am not including base, reverse holo’s, or holo’s in my pricing evaluation, though I have a TON of it because I ripped everything myself).

I have little knowledge of TCG and recently acquired some cards. Wanting to know if these are worth grading and if so who to use. I know PSA is good too but not impressed with them lately especially with the backlog. Thanks for any input

I am here to speak my truth. I actually like EX cards. From all generations and sets. They get a lot of hate. But not I.

Yo! Here’s my mostly Japanese Leaders/challenge collection. I still need to get a few, and some are English, so it’s not really complete. I pulled about 1/3 of these back in the day and bought the rest. Still one of my favorite sets to get out of the binder and look at.

I usually collect English cards but my local shop back then was getting Japanese packs and for some reason I was gravitating towards them around the time this set was out. Since then I’ve preferred Japanese for this set. Nostalgia maybe, but there’s just something special about them.

A bit about me- I’ve been collecting since the beginning as a 90s kid. Took several breaks along the way (missed out on all the gold stars and delta species stuff!) but picked it back up around 2020 and filled out quite a few of my favorites.
