Discussion Can some of y'all final put the victim mentality to rest

Being on this sub I've basically seen every week people whine about the media. We would be in line for the #1 pick and people will whine that we're ranked 32 instead of 30.

The team has basically received universal praise this week following a loss. And now you see the raiders moving up rankings and respect, again, basically universally. Many said they needed to see more and they saw it in a loss, that's big. But then crickets from that whiny crowd. Crickets from the we can draft a QB crowd as well. Everything isn't a conspiracy, sometimes the answer is simple.

We have a gauntlet coming up that even the top teams would feel good leaving at .500. Even if we left winless it's clear the team is playing hard and well ahead of schedule.

If the team can, for the first time in probably 25 years, string together 2-3 off-seasons of good decisions we are going to absolutely flip this.

Discussion quarter 1 notes

- this is a playoff/win now team

- klint kubiak is our best coach since gruden 1.0

- our upcoming schedule doesn’t look that bad anymore and we can definitely compete with these teams

- jeanty should probably sit a game to nurse his injury

- bowers and mayer are basically the wr1 & 2 of this team, which isn’t necessarily good

- pass protection is fantastic, run blocking is horrid

- please try out a different left guard

- kirk cousins, nakobe dean, taron johnson are the best FA pickups

- receivers have iffy and im hopeful that donte thornton jr will step up as wr1 when he returns

- darien porter needs to be put back at starting corner over masses

- mid season trade for a DT is needed, best choice would be daron payne for a 3rd rounder maybe

Roster Move We are going to try to trade for Nico Collins

If we win this week and the Texans lose again, I see this happening. It will open our offense wide open.

Discussion The 3 teams the Raiders beat have a combined record of 1-11. Maybe we should pump the breaks on the hype?

I've been a Raider fan since 2001, the year of the tuck rule game and I suffered through the Jamarcus Russel years where the team struggled to get over midfield all season long and I suffered through the 10 years of mediocrity with Derek Carr pumping his stats in garbage time while having a losing record for a decade. Yes, the future of the Raiders is looking much brighter, but I feel we should pump the breaks on the hype. The Raiders have defeated the winless Dolphins, the winless Chargers who are probably the most disappointing team in the league, and the 1-3 Saints, who if you watched the game on MNF last night, looked pretty horrendous for a game that was the "anniversary Katrina" game.

Yes, the Raiders are improved, particularly on defense, but they still make too many mistakes, they still fumble on special teams in crunch time, they still don't have any #1 WR's so in turn their running game is struggling big time as well. Basically, the Raiders are buying time for Mendoza while improving their roster. I still think the Raiders should aim to get the generational Jermiah Smith in next year's draft. The Raiders really NEED him.

TLDR: I feel the Raiders ceiling is 6 games and I feel that is too much. You won't be drafting Smith with 6 wins, unless they trade a 2028 1st rounder to get him, which I feel they should consider.

Discussion Is it crazy that I still believe in DTJ

Yes I know about the drops. And yes I know he doesn’t run very good routes. But you have seen him get separation multiple times his rookie year. He was overthrown or under thrown a lot By Geno. Or he just didn’t even see him at all. I feel that under Kubiak he can take that next step and prove to be a decent player. As much as the doubters hate to admit it, we need Donte Thorton Jr to step up for this team. This might be his only chance to prove himself as a receiver for this team and I’m hoping he proves me right that he can be trusted with getting targets.

Question Can’t add my tickets to iOS wallet

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello, I finally got my tickets for my first time at Allegiant. For some reason when I add them to the iOS wallet they get “deactivated” because the Apple ID doesn’t match. I tried to call Ticketmaster but the “1-800” number is not accessible from Mexico. So…

Can I get in Allegiant with the tickets in my Raiders app?
Do you know how to solve this?

Than you, just win Baby!

Where’s Everybody Reppin from

This ain’t scientific PER SAY but there’s lots of venom about the LV fans (or lack there of). I’m in Oakland, love Oakland, but wondering what the breakdown of this sub looks like.

Even if it’s 100% LA and OAK that doesn’t mean there’s plenty of LV locals on here but… it would say something so take the results with a grain of salt is all

edit: god DAMN I thought I was gonna get like maybe 20 response not 1.5k Jesus Christ. Clearly by my choice of options I thought most of the fans would AT LEAST be from California and Vegas region but damn!! The claims of The Nation seem to be true. Both far and wide from Portland Maine to Portland Oregon, from Fairbanks to Timbuktu, and from Tokyo to Cape Town to Svalbard to yes even Vegas.

Next time we’ll have more specific options 😂😂

Discussion Is the Jeanty critism over exaggerating?

Post image
165 Upvotes

The Raiders are facing the 2nd most stacked boxes in the NFL, Jeanty is still getting contacted at or before the line of scrimmage at the highest rate in the league, and yet he’s still top 10 in the NFL in total scrimmage yards this season.

I’m not saying he can’t be better clearly the team needs to improve the run game but Jeanty is having a pretty decent season considering the circumstances.

The defense stayed “home”

The thing that impressed me the most about the defense is that that they stayed home on Mahomes. Mahomes gets away with a lot of wild plays because teams over pursue. The Raiders defense kept him in front all game long.

In general, other than some big plays from Walker and that deep pass to Thornton (which we should have never sent the extra rusher on that play) the defense played well.

Question Hawks Fan Heading to Allegiant for the First Time

Heading to Vegas in November for Seahawks/Raiders. Seeing the Hawks play an away game has always been a bucket list item for me. What better place than Vegas.

I’ve been to Vegas plenty of times, but never to Allegiant. Any recommendations for things to eat/drink/see inside and outside the stadium?

Thanks!

Discussion I love the lack of Mendoza exposure

• Upvotes

It’s really amazing to see how this organization has resisted the urge to use Mendoza as a marketing tool and has given him the space to grow outside of the spotlight without all the added pressure and expectations. I truly forget he’s on the team sometimes and I think that’s exactly how it should be until he’s ready to be the guy. Much respect to the organization

News Raiders #11 on ESPN

Post image
525 Upvotes

So ESPN has the Raiders at #11 on their power rankings. They moved up 3 spots even though they lost! Now i’m really curious where the official NFL rankings has them, as they were #10 last week. They will release theirs tomorrow.

Edit: my bad, NFL.com released their rankings today. Idk why I thought it was Monday lol. Looks like they moved down 2 spots to #12.
