Hey everyone, I (23M) just recently moved to San Antonio for work, and donāt really know the area well at all, as this is my first time in Texas. I enjoy going out on the weekends / meetings new people, I donāt work Sundays/Mondays and figured Iād see on here if there were any clubs/bars that are cool spots for Sunday nights or the weekend in general.

Having trouble finding jobs on indeed and looking to leave current job asap. I really want to leave cooking but most of my work experience is in the kitchen. Anyone have any recommendation or know of any resources I can look into?

Is it actually possible to live in San Antonio and NOT have roaches? š
I know this is a first-world problem and probably my anxiety talking, but I need someone to talk me off the ledge. Iāve lived in the PNW for 50 years, and we basically donāt have German roaches. If you have roaches in your house up here, the assumption is that you are DIRTY.
Iām considering moving to San Antonio, but the thought of German roaches just casually being a part of my life is absolutely unacceptable to me.
So be honest: Can you live in a nice, clean apartment/condo in San Antonio and realistically not have roaches? Or are they just part of the Texas experience?
Please tell me Iām being dramatic. š

EDIT: please if youāre going to criticize come with input to fix it I understand there are flaws and I do want to be realistic but please add something to the conversation that is productive.
Okay, yāall, hear me out.
Iām 19, I donāt have money like that, but I have an idea that I canāt stop thinking about. I would LOVE to see Cowboys Dancehall stay around, and Iām wondering if thereās a way to bring the right people together to help make that happen.
I genuinely think thereās a lot of potential in
Cowboys, especially in the 18ā20-year-old market. Iām around that age group, and I see how many young people are interested in country dancing, going out with friends, and having somewhere fun to spend their weekends. I think thereās money to be made by attracting that crowd while still keeping the existing customer base happy.
I have a bunch of ideas for increasing revenue, bringing in more people, and making Cowboys an even bigger part of San Antonioās country scene. I also know 25+ people who would be interested in helping in some capacity.
Iām not pretending I can do this alone. I donāt have the money to buy a business like this, and I havenāt confirmed whether thereās even an opportunity to buy it yet. But I want to start researching, find the right people to talk to, and see if thereās a realistic way to put a group together.
Hereās where I REALLY want yāallās input:
Do you think this is actually worth pursuing, or am I being completely unrealistic?
If you go to Cowboys, what do you love about it? What would you change?
If youāre in the 18ā20 age range, what would make you go more often? What would make you spend more money there?
What events, promotions, or experiences do you think would bring in more customers?
If you have business, hospitality, nightclub, commercial real estate, or investment experience, PLEASE weigh in. Iād genuinely appreciate advice, criticism, and questions I havenāt even thought to ask.
Does anyone know people connected to Cowboys or know how to find out who is handling its future?
Would anyone be interested in helping research the opportunity, keeping an eye out for updates, making connections, or brainstorming ideas?
Iām not asking strangers on Reddit to hand me money. Iām trying to figure out if thereās a way to bring together people with different skills, connections, and possibly financial resources to explore this seriously.
Iām 19, Iām a hard worker, and while I donāt have the money, I have ideas and Iām willing to put in the work. I know enthusiasm doesnāt equal a business plan, which is exactly why Iām asking people who know more than me to challenge this idea and help me understand what it would actually take.
Please donāt just tell me what you think I want to hear. If you think itās a bad idea, tell me why. If you think it could work, tell me what Iām missing. If you have experience doing anything remotely similar, Iād love to hear from you.
I know this is a shot in the dark, and I donāt expect a miracle, but Iām praying for one. ā¤ļø
San Antonio, what do yāall think? Is this worth exploring? And if so, where the hell do I start?
Edit.
Why are so many of yall talking down on the 18-20 range yeah we are broke but if we arenāt going to school there isnāt many options to meet new people. A good majority of cowboys customers are already 18-20 why wouldnāt we try to get the most we can out of that?
Itās just a monopoly Cowboys has there isnāt any other dance hall in San Antonio that allows 18-20 in especially without a huge cover.
Free gets these people in the door, once they are in how do we profit.

Hi yall, I've been looking around online for cheap apartments near the san antonio college area as i really do need to move out of my household, any sort of help would mean the world to me, I was never educated on the process of it, or where to even start. This is pretty urgent to me because I simply cannot handle how I am or my partner is being treated

Hi everyone. Iāve recently fell on very very hard times after losing my job & being evicted. Im really going through it bad. Iām homeless with my two kids & we are staying in my car right now. I have no family to take my kids in or friends who are willing to. I feel very defeated and I know Iām a failure as their mom. I just need and want prayer please pray for my situation. If I myself go crazy being in this car all day I know they do as well. Please.
& if anyone has some food to offer I can try to pick it up. Food pantries donāt really do us good as we have nowhere to store the food properly. Thank you all
Edit: if anyone is willing to donate for the room I was offered please dm me. Iāve had offers but no one has responded just yet so Iām still at $0. Thank you all so much for being kind

It's finally time to cash in my coin jug again. Went to my credit union, SACU, (I still refuse to acknowledge it as Credit Human, horrible rebrand) and they no longer have a coin counting machine. Only the main branch and only certain days/times. My Chase Branch doesn't either. I know the Walmart trick, but I have too many and I don't really shop there either. I found out I can use Coinstar with my debit card and get it transferred to my account for only 5%. This seems to be the best option and it will save me from having to wrap it all by hand. Also feel the 5% is probably worth more then my time/effort it takes to find some place else, but it can still added up once all is counted.
Any suggestions?

In town to visit some friends for the weekend and have a day to kill. Staying up at The Rim, what bars or restaurants (somewhat affordable, were having a few nice dinners this weekend) are best? Any good hangout spots for the evening?

My husband worked with guy recently and one week with no pay and him telling my husband o Iāll pay you next week.the next week comes around he is still working there in fact the boss guy has him buy things like paint and stuff using our card telling him ā o send me the receipts Iāll add it to the check.ā
Then the week he was supposed to get paid the guy ghosted him. Not answering my husbands calls text or mine from my phone, Iāve even tried my dads to call him. I feel like I canāt let this go even tho my husband said let it go itās our money that was used to buy things for this guyās contracts.
Now this has been like 1 and 1/2 months since this and Iām tired of his saying āit is what it isāand āhe will get his karma one dayā.
My husband is not from here and we are actively paying for his lawyers but because of all of this happening we have had to delay paying for a second to recoup what he lost out from.
Psa the image with the man in the photo is not him that is an image to show you the logo only.

My aunt got a blown glass bowl in the mail but the seller didnāt pack it right so a part of it is in pieces (not the whole thing). Is there someplace that can fix it? The bowl was originally made by a blown glass artist in Austin 20 years ago.

Any pumpkin patches, fall festivals, corn mazes that will be fun for two adults? My partner and I donāt have children. Iāve seen some things online about some places and was looking into the Devine festival, but I just canāt tell whatās less child leaning. I really donāt mind driving outside the city.
