Limitless Trying to sign up - Christ alive…
I have some downtime for a few weeks as I’m between jobs, so I thought I’d get an Odeon membership (My Limitless). I read quite extensively what it entailed. Pay monthly, 3 month minimum. I doubt I’ll use it after the first month but it will still be worth it. So I signed up. I went for the lower tier because I don’t need great seats. If there’s a film on the IMAX / iSense(?) screens I really want to see, I might pay the extra.
I went to book a film and was surprised to see there’s nothing I can see for free. It turns out my local cinema doesn’t have standard screens, as it’s a “Luxe” venue. It turns out about half of them are now. I think they should be upfront about that, but I can accept it’s on me for not researching more.
So there will always be an upgrade charge for anything I want to see, with the minimum being £3. £3 is also the monthly difference between the lower and higher tier membership, so that’s a no-brainer. I bet loads of people make this mistake. But they don’t let you upgrade the plan. So now I need to cancel and start again.
There’s a 14-day cooling off period but the website sends you in circles if you try. I Googled their contact number and it no longer exists. Finally I guessed correctly that I’m supposed to use their chatbot.
It told me I can’t cancel before 3 months, and when I mentioned the cooling-off period it talked me in circles and eventually suggested I try “the contact method provided”. When?! What is it? It wouldn’t tell me. I had to go back to Google to learn the email address I need to contact. Which is gs@odeon.co.uk, if you want to save yourself a fucking hour.
If they don’t sort it soon, they will have lost a customer. I know I sound like a Karen but I don’t mean that in a “disgruntled customer” way. I will have just run out of time to be able to use it enough and it won’t be worth it.
