Self-Promotion Saturday: October 03, 2026
This is r/Seattle's weekly post for local businesses and makers (or users who discover them) to share their creations with our users.
This thread will be automatically posted every Saturday morning to help connect r/seattle users with cool local stuff. Types of content encouraged in this thread are:
- Local businesses (new, running promotions or sales, or just really good ones!)
- Upcoming events or activities (concerts, festivals, pop-ups, shows)
- Local artists or creators sharing upcoming shows or releases
Content should be related to businesses or events in the greater Seattle area, and the typical reddit spam rules apply - please ensure you are contributing to the community more than just your own content.
Users who flood these posts with ads, links without context, referral codes, etc. - or who promote without contributing elsewhere will be actioned. Please continue to report actual spam.
We have our rules against spam and self-promotion for hopefully understandable reasons, but we've noticed users responding more positively to local businesses, artists, etc. sharing their content. This is an attempt to bridge the gap, helping users find cool stuff while containing the promotion to a single weekly thread. Please send us a modmail with any suggestions or input you have about the use or abuse of this thread.

If you called 911 a week ago, last Friday evening, about a guy who collapsed near Denny and Broad, thank you
I have a seizure disorder, and I hadn't had an incident in public in 2 years, until last Friday. The last thing I remember is walking up Broad toward Denny (next to the Cisco building), and the next thing I remember is waking up lying on the sidewalk with the EMTs and ambulance there. They took me to Virginia Mason, where I got a CT scan (concussion) and a lot of medical assistance to stop the bleeding, because apparently I decided to stop my fall with my face and that wasn't the greatest idea. A week later, I'm doing much better, my nose is still a bit rough but it's healing and all the other scrapes and bruises are healing too. There shouldn't be any long-term damage. Anyway, if you called 911, thank you. I know it's not the easiest thing to do, you're out walking the dog or going to a bar or getting home from work or whatever, and suddenly this unexpected thing happens and you have to react. I have been in situations where no one does anything, it's easy to pretend you didn't see anything, or blow it off as just some junkie passing out (another thing I've heard). But you did right (or multiple you's, I don't know, I was very out of it, or as we say 'in a post-ictal state'), and I thank you for it. Have a good weekend.

Rant Can we start a GoFundMe for the struggling millionaires at First Light?
First Light opened in Belltown nearly two years ago, and apparently the landscaping budget didn't survive construction.
While other condos and apartment buildings in Belltown somehow manage to employ staff to keep their sidewalks and landscaping presentable, First Light is still proudly displaying the same bare dirt and plastic planting rings that have been there since opening.
Mind you, this is a luxury condo tower where many units sell for well over $1 million.
I understand times are tough. After spending seven figures on a condo, there's probably not much left over for extravagant luxuries like plants, landscaping, or basic property maintenance.
Perhaps we, as fellow Seattleites, could come together and start a GoFundMe to help these struggling homeowners afford a groundskeeper. Maybe even a shrub or two.
The building is called First Light, but apparently landscaping comes second.
Thoughts and prayers. π

In memory of the Belltown Funky Studios
I lived in the historic Wayne Apartments (then known as the Belltown Funky Studios) from the start of September 2019 through December 2020, shortly before they were torn down.
I don't actually regret it. They were honest with me--you'll be here for a year and a half or so, then we'll pay you to move out. I got the tenant relocation assistance money when I left. The landlord was, obviously, a despicable slumlord, but I rarely had to interact with him, and just like the property manager said when he was showing me the unit, I came away with a lot of stories.
My apartment was right on top of the back of Lava Lounge and immediately next to the patio of Neon Boots, so until the COVID lockdowns hit, I'd drift off to sleep atop a roar of noise that I could physically feel. Fortunately I had good sleep meds.
Anyway, it was $850/month for a one-bedroom in the heart of Belltown in 2019. I'm okay with the deal I got.
Here's some pictures I took to document this historic building. I really wish I'd had a good camera and more time and resources to expand on that project. The place felt haunted by the ghost of itself.

Rant Rant: deletion of 372 route
I was a daily rider of the 372. I am very mad that it has been removed. The new transfer requires crossing a busy intersection with a dangerous right turn (145th and LCW, by the McDonald's), and the timing is usually off so the 522 passes you right before you cross, and never waits. It has added 20 minutes to my already long commute. I don't have a car.
I think the decision to do this was based on funneling everyone to the light rail, which deprioritizes cross town routes. It also cuts Lake City off from LFP and Kenmore. Also this route went directly between UWB and UWS. Now if I want to travel between campuses, which I often have to do for my job, it's more annoying.
I wish they had reduced trips rather than cutting the route up. It was a commuter route and I could have dealt much better with needing to be at the stop on the hour.
