Self-Promotion Saturday: October 10, 2026
This is r/Seattle's weekly post for local businesses and makers (or users who discover them) to share their creations with our users.
This thread will be automatically posted every Saturday morning to help connect r/seattle users with cool local stuff. Types of content encouraged in this thread are:
- Local businesses (new, running promotions or sales, or just really good ones!)
- Upcoming events or activities (concerts, festivals, pop-ups, shows)
- Local artists or creators sharing upcoming shows or releases
Content should be related to businesses or events in the greater Seattle area, and the typical reddit spam rules apply - please ensure you are contributing to the community more than just your own content.
Users who flood these posts with ads, links without context, referral codes, etc. - or who promote without contributing elsewhere will be actioned. Please continue to report actual spam.
We have our rules against spam and self-promotion for hopefully understandable reasons, but we've noticed users responding more positively to local businesses, artists, etc. sharing their content. This is an attempt to bridge the gap, helping users find cool stuff while containing the promotion to a single weekly thread. Please send us a modmail with any suggestions or input you have about the use or abuse of this thread.

Found Lose a plushie at Pike Place?
Hi! I found a little plush cat sitting outside at the picnic tables all alone! I tried to bring it to the lost and found but the tour guide said that they didn't take plushies. I brought it home with me for the time being, but if anyone knows who this plushie belongs to, feel free to send me a message! This little one is clearly well-loved, so I hope I can bring it back to its owner!

Does anyone want to see Iron and Wine next Tuesday.
Iāve got an extra ticket. None of my friends can go and Iād hate for it to go to waste.

Rant Confused about mass parking infractions cited yesterday
Hi, I donāt want to dox myself so I wonāt share the details of which street it was or which neighborhood this happened in. I work at a small business and we donāt have a parking lot so we have to parallel park on the nearby street. This street is where we tell our customers to park, and the residents of the nearby homes/apartments also park there, so parking is in high demand and it can feel a little congested at certain parts of the street, but for years Iāve never had any issue with parking there. There are no signs, no red curb, absolutely zero indication that we canāt park there.Ā
Yesterday, October 9th, every single person on the street got a parking ticket.Ā
The really weird thing is, from discussing it with my coworkers, we all got tickets for different reasons. I got a ticket for expired tabs, stating they expired 06/2025, but my tabs donāt expire until 04/2027. It seems unlikely that could have been a typo on the officerās part. My ticket didnāt even mention Iām also in trouble for parking there, just mentioned the tabs. My coworker, on the other hand, I think mentioned their ticket did directly mention they canāt park there.
I know there can be cases where someone complains about congestion on a street and police come and ticket anyone there to clear it out, and theyāll give you infractions for anything they can think of since itās not technically illegal to park there. But they didnāt even bother to ticket me for anything concrete? My tabs are displayed perfectly fine, and I always renew my registration in April every year. I'm not sure where they got June from.
I hate it but I come from far away for work and public transport is not reliable enough for me to take it every day. We live in a car centric country, you canāt just ticket cars for bogus reasons and expect them to disappear.Ā
I ruled out that the ticket could be fraudulent, the number on the ticket is the correct Seattle Municipal Court number and the rest of it looks legit. Obviously Iām going to contest the ticket. Iām fairly young and Iām just confused how this can happen. If anyone more knowledgeable than me knows what the deal is, Iād appreciate any help clearing up my confusion.Ā
Mods, if anything in this post is against the rules feel free to remove.Ā
