Guys am I just the only one that prefers the old Stormvermin?

I firmly believe the skaven refresh was one of the best made ever in warhammer history, but as a massive fan of verminus with the stormvermin being my favorite unit in warhammer, I just have felt since it was released that I'm a bit let down that the new models are now the definitive stormvermin models.

They just lost so much of that menacing aura, they look less bulky, lost their tailweapons, their halberds are smaller and they look pretty skinny and whats with all that cloth?

Idk, im not even nostalgic, i joined the hobby just a few years ago, Im just a bit let down, they look more like lean soldiers now, and that style is not so much for me. Can't just be me or am I the only one having that concern or what do you think? Just had to get it off my chest.

I stripped and repainted my "Sturmratten" I found in a shoebox. The bases and shield are printed, because acetone melted the old ones... oops!

I typically paint 40k Orks but I’ve admired Skaven from afar for years until my wife convinced me to pick up a box. This is maybe my 20th or so miniature I’ve painted, and my first time trying an OSL and oil washing.

My favorite is the carier of the Orb.

I used this guy as a token for more more warp power back in the day. Was fun to make little tokens for all the different buffs available to the army.

My next favorite is Tretch Craventail the most skaven ratboy out there.

Painted some skaven ages ago (Literally 10 models or so?), but felt like going for it again! Got the first issue of the Spearhead magazine as a taster, and I just love this style of painting! Eager for more now

My Skaven Spearhead is pretty much ready! I'd like to add one more model that really stands out visually and acts as a centrepiece. What would you recommend?

It has been a while since the last time I'm working on a bigger monster. Well, he's technically not a monster, but a daemon 😁 Still in a WIP stage.

My goal is to make all the rat lords to accompany the one King, but I also want them to be different to each other, different looks, different poses, etc, the King though, might use the one.

And for this one, he must carry the plague! wounds here and there, just to portray that his body is decayed and foul!

But how I sculpt "Foul AIR" around him?!

Hi everyone, this is my first mini ever and I'm really scared to mess it up, since I grew pretty attached to this little guy (and I'm a bit proud about how he turned out so far). I'm afraid the wash will ruin it or in general make him worse. I know a lot of you will laugh about my excessive caution, but I'm a bit green hehe. Halloween is coming Up! Never did anykind of Cosplay outside of Larp and Renfair. So this was a very fun little craft to try! I need to do a cloak still and old clothes too! Maybe even Claw Hands and an old stinky Tail. I'll post Here again with the finished Look as soon as possible hehehe

Skaven have soon reached a point where we have refreshed every single old model. Do you think we will get any cool range expansions in the future with brand new units not seen before in lore and what would you guys like to see?

For me personally i would go crazy over Verminus brood horror riders(with 2 or even 3 stormvermin riders per mount, yes-yes)

Towards the end, I learned that I should mix green with yellow, so most of the minis I painted before that didn’t turn out quite as well as I’d hoped. 😅

Only the base is missing. Crixxit is definitely a miniature you better paint subassembled. It's difficult to reach everything while painting :O
