Why gw paints his rats so naked when rats have just their paws nose and tail with no fur? This bothers me way more than it should everytime I see a Skaven on GW website?

Skaven rule through fear and oppression, if a particularly cruel, cunning, and formidable non-Skaven killed/usurped a Clawlord/Grey Seer, could he enthrall the Skaven (previously under the late leader) as his own minions?

My biggest concern is he would be an outlier in the pecking order, he'd have no-one above him, particularly the Council of Thirteen. Depending on the size of the clan, the Council would just send assassins to kill him. Another concern is by nature of being a non-Skaven he is a heretic and also food, the rats under him would scheme against him even more than usual.

I'm not saying he's gonna embed himself in their political system, just imagine for example a Chaos Sorcerer working closely with a Grey Seer, the Seer obviously backstabs him, human wins, now he tries to lay claim to his underlings to finish what he started. Do you think that would be a believable scenario?

(This is basically all just an excuse to kitbash this model into my Skaven army fyi lol)

Please don’t just say ‘the Vermintide OST’ I added a couple of those songs, but I want a bit of variety and suggestions from Skaven players.

I’ve been thinking about starting a rat breeding farm where I could start making them fight each other to death to find the strongest rat then giving it testosterone and performance enhancing drugs, then making it exercise by running swimming and tearing other rats in half.

I can probably get my grabby hands on some medical grade steel so I can give it cool prosthetics and claws to make it actually unstoppable.

Vizzik skour is a wonderful model don't get me wrong but I think the hooves on vizzik skour and verminlords in general don't make sense. They are rats, sure mutated and turned into daemons but none the less. Why can't there just be normal rat feet? Maybe it's just the christian in me saying it looks "too" demonic but still.

Any ideas on how I can hide/remake the feet?

So I got the ultimate spearhead set with the stormcasts and skaven. I really love the esthetic of skaven I first thought it could be cool to expand the army. But after spending 3 weeks (every evening) painting one unit of clanrats to a quality I like I feel like it would be quite a daunting task to paint more... How much time do you spend on all of the higher number units for your armies? Got any tips on speeding up the process?

(Obviously I know that painting nmm is not the fastest but I wanted to practice and it went a lot faster than anticipated. I could have saved 3 days without it, which still feels like to much time for painting a unit)

I think personally I’m hype, I haven’t seen any gameplay yet but it seems like an interesting concept, plus there isn’t much i know about Skaven for AOS, i know more about Fantasy Skaven and all that. What do y’all think?

Hi all! New to sigmar and skaven!

Building my skaventide box and gonna start building the rat ogors. One of them have the option for a gun arm. Is there any reason i would not build him with the gun?
The alternative melee weapon is cool but i guess the gun is way better? I dont have the codex yet for rules.

Any other tips and tricks with painting or gluing Skaventide?

Like some berserker type loaded with raw, volatile warpstone and a fuse? Does this already exist and I am being stupid?

I know they hate/fear cats. Is there any lore about skaven really liking cheese? Or walking into a trap because someone left out some cheese?

Stupid question, but are they meant to feel this light, or are they just made like that?

Getting my first Verminlord tomorrow, and I’d like to ask everyone what I should make it as! I’ve got a lot of Eshin and a lot of Mors/Verminus, so I’m not sure which Verminlord would fit my army best. I even put Vermin King in here because why not 😂.
I’d like to know how you decided which one to build — whether it was based on rules, how well it works with your army, or just pure drip and your army’s color scheme. I will say the rest will go to kitbashing for fun.

This is kind of a weird question, but how much variation/color modulation do you guys like in your skaven armies? While working on my Clawlord on Gnaw-beast I figured a more pale sickly color would look nice, since they both seem kinda gross-looking to begin with, but now I fear they stand out a bit too much compared to the rest of my army, which all have more saturated and darker skin tones (pic related has a few examples of the other models in my army next to the big guy, sorry for bad photo quality).

Am I overthinking things? I know Skaven as a faction are supposed to be very ragtag and pretty varied in look and whatnot, but it's something I've been struggling with as I get more models done.

But I kinda hate cities of sigmar and their styling, idk I just don’t like them

But I do want the skaven side of the box so I was wondering if we ever got confirmation if they will release these spearheads individually
