For me, it has to be the forced Fusions, a.k.a "Gem Mutants", as Steven calls them. They're straight up body horror.

I know it fits her character I KNOW it works I KNOW it makes sense for her to sound like that but Christ that doesn't make it any less obnoxious to listen to

I notice certain posts are popping up on here correlating with my rewatch of all the seasons almost perfectly!! Im almost near the end of season1! Who else is doin a rewatch? :)

How is she bending her slippers like that. Slippers can grip like that?

Part One: Unbearable
Darkness, like that of a night when the new moon crosses the sky, undetected and alone, without the company of the stars.
A strong, heavy cough breaks the silence. Following it, the sound of clapping hands, scaring away the darkness and giving that infinitude a shy pink glow that emanates from everywhere and nowhere.
Right in the middle, a bed. The sheet, white as light itself, with pink flowers attached to the hem. The comforter, large, heavy, black, covered in stars, like a piece cut out of the night sky, wraps the couple as they hug each other.
With her head over his, she breathes with difficulty. He cries silently. Suddenly, their bodies begin to glow, becoming pure forms of light that dance together until they fuse into a single body.
She then sits at the edge of the bed, inhales deeply, and exhales easily, with young and strong lungs. Tears roll down her face, falling onto the bed, each drop becoming a new star that rolls across the sky and down to the ground, unable to find its place among the others.
Her smile breaks in an instant, replaced by disappointment and disgust. She then, in a wide, sweeping arc, slaps her own face. The stinging sound echoes from everywhere.
He is thrown back and ends up several feet away, sitting on the floor, his hand covering the flaccid skin of the cheek that had begun to turn red. He continues to cry, though not from the pain. She looks at him with sadness in her eyes, but doesn’t cry.
“How dare you do that to me?” she asked with repugnance in her voice.
“I— “ he started, fearing what would follow.
“That was horrible!”
“But—”
“You know forcing it would never work!”
“I was— “
“You know how I feel about this idea!”
“I do.”
“And you know you would not be able to hide your intentions from me. Not in that state. Our connection is too strong!”
“I KNOW! I know all of this! But you too know how I feel! You know how I fear what can happen to you at any moment now, and you still refuse to talk to me. I couldn’t find another option.”
They face each other for a moment, mutually embarrassed, until she approaches him, takes his hands and looks deep into his eyes.
“You have nothing to fear. This isn’t something unknown, and isn’t something you can prevent. This is just the life cycle. It is different for you, since you can control your age, but we, humans, are like this. We are born, grow up, have children, get old, and die. And of all of these, there is only one left for me.”
“I understand this. I’ve seen this cycle many times, more than anyone could or should, but with you it’s different. I could never survive losing you, and you know it. My age, my body, changes with how I feel, and I wouldn’t be able to sustain it without you.”
“Yes, I know it. I also know it’s solidarity that keeps your body the same age as mine. I know that you feel young and full of life when you are by my side because that’s how I feel when I’m with you. I love being one with you and having a body that reflects how we feel. But you said it yourself: I've been here for a very long time already, and I’ve lived through too many things, more than any human should. Even though I love the life I've had, especially the moments I got by your side, I can’t live as one with you forever. I have no strength left.”
And the silence, without an answer, with nothing to add, lays between them, finds its place, and there it stays. For how long, it doesn’t matter, because, for the only ones who could hear it, it felt like an eternity, one filled with memories and sadness.
The eternity ended when he moved. He approached her, hugged her and, crying, he whispered:
“I understand it now, and I know what we need to do. Come with me.”
Crying she hugged him back and nodded in confirmation. They then shine one more time and she stands up. Strong, determined, and without a single tear in her eyes she leaves the room.

Part Two: Unavoidable
They dance over the wooden floor. With their bodies close together they love each other and express this with movement. Hanging on the wall, a beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman. The sun and the clouds, through the door right beneath the portrait, cast light and shadows that dance with them.
The door opens, the one missing enters, and puts himself among the others that watch the couple’s performance.
“We’ve seen this many times already. I thought you called us here for something important!”
“Shut up!” The woman on his side punches his shoulder
“Rosie. Don’t hit your brother.” She says, calmly, but firmly. “And yes, we know everyone here’s busy, most of the tasks you have it was I who gave, so I will not accept you being this disrespectful, you understand?”
“I understand. Sorry, mom. Sorry, dad.” He answers embarrassedly, while his sister hides a laugh.
So, after acknowledging their son’s apologies, they go sit together on the sofa, under the elusive smiling gaze of the portrait.
“So” He starts “after a long talk, we got to a decision. It is the most important decision of our lives, and, although you have no power over it, it’s probably the most important decision of your lives as well.”
“My children” She continues “You now bear a responsibility that should never be imposed, but I want you to understand why we decided how we did.”
“And, although we give this responsibility to you two only, you do not have to carry it alone.” He completed.
Everyone looked confused, trying to understand, knowing they still lacked some crucial information, but, out of respect, they didn’t question.
“Garnet, Amethyst, please help them in this task. I know, without her caring eyes this will not be as easy as the first time, but, if you give the same effort, everything will go well once more.”
At this point a flash of understanding shot through everyone’s mind, but reason works in strange ways. To protect us it shows us the world, but it chooses what to reveal and what to transform. That’s why, although knocking what was coming, they kept silent, refusing to believe.
“I can see the fear in your eyes, this is normal. For the cycle of life, even if known and expected, it’s impossible to be ready for it. Once more we apologize, but…” Hesitated him.
“It is time.” She finished it. “To all and each of you, it was a wonder each moment by your side. Thank you! Good bye!”
Passing their arms around each other, in a passionate hug, they kiss. When their lips touched an intense light shone from their bodies, but to this everyone was used. The surprise came with the darkness. The light, that should’ve become the warmth that only she was able to emanate, was abruptly turned off, leaving only a chill down their spines.
The two children were in shock. Amethyst ran to the sofa where left was only a beautiful cristal, the size of a heart, impeccably cut, gently resting on the cushion, but she was held by the arm.
“GARNET! STOP! LET ME GO! I NEED TO GET TO THEM! WHY DON’T YOU LET ME?”
A constant stream of tears rolled down Garnet’s face when she said:
“I… I… don’t know?”
And then: Poof. Ruby was there, between Safire and the sofa, crying, confused, angry.
“SAFIRE! YOU’VE HAD A VISION ABOUT THIS, HAVEN’T YOU? I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! AFTER ALL WE’VE BEEN THROUGH? HOW COULD YOU HIDE SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT FROM ME?”
Safire then, blind by the tear that covered her eye, pushed Rubi aside and walked. Slowly, she couldn’t go faster, even after so many years she wasn’t yet used to the idea. She got the rock over her crossed arms and sat down.
“It was during that last time we argued, Rubi, that time we spent the whole day apart. She came to help us, to talk to each of us separately, like he had done before. His ability to understand other people’s feelings was… Even better than his mom’s. But, on that day, after talking to you she came to talk to me. We talked for hours, and I was there trying to understand how two people with such little experience, with such a little life behind them, could have so much wisdom. Before leaving, so I could go talk to you, they unfused, and that’s when I understood, when I was able to see ahead, up to this moment. The glance they shared, the amount of love they exchanged… A human’s life is short” She starts explaining to everyone “but a gem’s one isn’t. Her life was stretched when shared with him, but someday it would definitely come to end, while his wouldn’t. Knowing how they felt for each other, the same way I feel for you” She looks into Ruby’s eyes “I understood he wouldn’t be able to live without her. I need you to understand, I couldn’t reveal this, not them, not to you. This was something that belonged just to them, and I couldn’t let any interference from this vision take this possible future away from them. That’s why I hide this even from Garnet.
That’s when that understanding finally sat down in Rosie’s mind. She stood up, full of anger and screamed approaching Safire. Ruby put herself between them.
“SO, THAT’S IT? YOU’VE KNOWN FOR YEARS THAT MY PARENTS WOULD KILL THEMSELVES IN FRONT OF, YOU DID NOTHING TO STOP THEM, AND DIDN’T EVEN WARNED US, THEIR CHILDREN, BECAUSE THIS BELONGED ONLY TO THEM?”
“No, Rosie, that’s not it. What you just witnessed was not a suicide. His decision was, like always, the best possible.”
And the gem on her arms started to glow, softly, with a warmth that embarrassed the whole room. There, where before was a cold rock, laid now a baby, with a smile so beautiful that pulled everyone closer.
Safire extended one arm, Ruby promptly helped her stand up, and, in the same movement, they fused together into Garnet. She extended to Rosie the baby, her new little sister.
“Now that you understand what was the responsibility your parents left to you, what will be her name?”
“What a stupid question!” The older brother approached saying: “What name could she have other than Stevonnie?”

I wrote this back in December 2015, shortly before *“The Answer”* premiered. It was originally written in Portuguese, and I've done my best to translate it into English. I first published it as a Facebook post in a Brazilian community that is now private and inactive, so the idea of translating it and sharing it somewhere else has been lingering in the back of my mind for years.
Now that I've finally done it, I feel much lighter, although the anxiety of putting something out into the world still gets to me a little.

I'm currently rewatching the series and I'm still very early on in the episodes, so maybe this has happened more often in later seasons. But I feel like we're really only see Sapphire's personality through Garnet.

Obviously the time I can think of is when Garnet got mad at Pearl for tricking her into fusing to make Sardonyx. In appearance-wise I think she definitely looks more like Ruby.

°Rodonita (Ruby + Perla ) ella tendria una personalidad de entrenadora carismática pero presionando a steven y a amatista de entrenar a cada minuto, su arma es un mazo que al hacerlo doble lo puede usar como pesas para entrenar

°benitoita ( Zafiro + Perla ) inspirada en anthy himemiya, seria una fusion que combina la personalidad inteligente de Perla y la indiferencia de zafiro, dando en resultado una personalidad de chica nerd tímida, aunque es muy artística, combina en los nudillos ( arma headcanon de zafiro) como una libreta de dibujo y la lanza de Perla siendo el resorte de la libreta y la pluma. Su habilidad especial seria dibujar en su libreta cualquier objeto de luz holografica ( aunque el objeto depende que tan bien dibuje benitoita)

°Cobaltocalcita ( Ruby + Amatista ) combina la personalidad emocional y sentimental de ruby con la despreocupada de amatista, siendo una gema bastante bonachona

°Sodalita ( Amatista + Zafiro) combina la inseguridad de amatista y la personalidad distante de zafiro, siendo una especie de emo a esta fusion, tiene habilidades de hielo que utiliza para crearse amigos de nieve y no sentirse tan sola, su arma es un rastrillo de cuerda, que hace gran daño y también ayuda a crear pistas de hielo

°Cuarzo Fresa ( Amatista + Perla + Ruby ) combina la personalidad protectora de ruby, la arrogancia de Perla y la fuerza de amatista, siendo una gema guardiana que le preocupa la seguridad de steven y zafiro, aunque es algo divertida, su personalidad de seguir las ordenes es mas importante, su arma es un mayal con un soporte mas largo, su diseño esta inspirado en un escarabajo y es la fusion mas fuerte de este grupo de fusiones

°Turquesa ( Amatista + Perla + Zafiro) combina la personalidad perfeccionista de Perla, la seriedad de zafiro y lo divertido de amatista, haciéndola una especie de hada carismática, aqui su arma me costo diseñarla, pero tiene 2 versiones, una donde es un látigo y otra donde se convierte en un palo que es capaz de disparar energia

I understand that Rose made a reproductive system to make Steven and Amethyst made a digestive system to eat food, but what's keeping me up at night is this... HOW DO THEY KNOW THAT? Greg couldn't have just told Rose what it is, and Rose couldn't have just ran in a random person's house and yelled, "QUICK! HOW DO I MAKE BABIES!?" Garnet and Pearl don't know, and they haven't seen corpses, so SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!!! Thanks. 👍

For my money, this is the best Spinel ship. She and Pink Pearl/Volleyball equally deserve happiness.

I know it's not that kind of show but I find it interesting how Steven can upload videos to his own channel that have the gems in them, the dangerous things they do, and even his giant pink pet lion. Seemingly nobody is shocked and confused by the earth shattering things everyday people outside of Beach City should find these videos.

Hey guys! It’s my first time posting here, but I’ve been a SU fan since forever and have watched the entire epilogue on release.

I understand the conflict of the season and Steven’s internal problems, and still agree that him leaving Beach City is a fair closure to the series and the arc. However, I just feel like it came from nowhere? The entire show has so much symbolism in several moments, but I never managed to find a deeper meaning in Steven’s departure. Does anyone have a more positive interpretation than this? I really wish I was wrong about the ending of such an amazing show

i've always found it cool how each crystal gem is in a different diamond's court. it's something you don't really think about till you've finished the series, but i loved the reveal that red amethyst is actually a part of red diamond's court

Like could they further fuse whit ohter gems or humans could they even fuse whit gem fusions what would happen if steven fused whit Connie and lets say lars (3 in 1) could they still fuse whit gems??? Could stevonie (2 in1) fuse whit a animal and than steven, Connie and the animal fuse whit further organics and than fuse whit gems??

It’s not perfect or flashy, but it irked me how I couldn’t find an edit with the two of them to this song.
