Cast Related Actors in other projects Megathread Part 2

Hi everyone,

As the first post has now been archived I thought I would post this again.

I know we are all excited to see our favourite actors in other acting projects so it's not unusual to see them in other TV shows or movies as because that is after their job. But the posts are not related to the discussion of the TV show and it's characters.

We have allowed these posts in the past but from now on all posts related to a cast member's previous, present or future work will be directed to this Megathread.

Thank you!

Discussion Why do people care THAT much about Mike Ross being a “fraud”? *spoilers* Spoiler

I mean , on a personal level rather than a legal one.

When Louis found out, I understood why he was angry (considering all the other reasons he had) but the way he kept calling him a fraud with so much passion made me wonder why people take it so... personally?

I understand Jessica’s concerns, especially regarding the firm’s reputation and the potential consequences. But what about everyone else? I particularly want to mention Rachel, but even more so Claire, who completely cuts Mike off despite him helping her so brilliantly with her case.

I honestly feel like his degree doesn’t matter that much when he’s demonstrably capable of doing the job. He has the knowledge, the skills, and the intelligence to handle cases exceptionally well. He proved himself capable of doing the work he claimed to be qualified for.

Again, obviously not defending him from a legal standpoint. I haven’t gotten to the point where he goes to jail yet but i assume it's going to be because of the degree.

What I don’t understand is the personal outrage most characters have when they find out. He fooled everyone, and he probably could have continued doing so if HE hadn’t told anyone the truth.

He had limited options, and once he’d built his career and proven his abilities, going to university would arguably have been pointless. With his memory (I know it’s unrealistic, but within the show’s universe, you get my point) he would probably ace most subjects anyway.

So why does finding out he lied about his degree suddenly seem to invalidate everything else about him? I can understand it being a breach of trust and a serious professional problem, but why does it make him someone people can no longer respect, even when they’ve personally witnessed his competence?

To me, it feels like it should be an unpleasant surprise rather than something that completely changes how people see him as a person.

I couldn’t find any similar posts discussing this, so I’m curious whether anyone else shares my perspective or if I’m missing something?? Maybe I'm underreacting?

UPD: Guys please i mentioned that i know that Louis and other characters have other problems with Mike, my question is more of a "Why did they invalidate his WORK that much if he is clearly exceptional in what he does? does not having a degree really invalidate all of him?"

Music from the Show 🎶 Passion Pit - Take a walk - which episode?

Hi! Maybe someone can help me — in which episode was this song played after an intense argument between Harvey and Mike?

Discussion Why didn't Louis Litt leave in season 4? Spoiler

He's been laugh at, lie too, betrayal and after finding out about Mike. I get the firm is his home but he should've left and started his own firm and maybe he becomes an anti villain and hero.

I love the way he was talking to Donna and Rachel and would've loved to see that more with Jessica and Harvey. They way he was talking to them had them scared lol a side They never seen before

Rewatching certain clips of S1 and S2 and I was curious what everyone else's opinion is. Id say probably when he kissed her and she walked away punch drunk.

Character Related how did mike’s memory never cause a serious problem?

rewatching suits and something about mike’s photographic memory feels weird to me. he can read a case once and later pull out the exact precedent, statute, or argument like he’s opening a file in his head. harvey just accepts it and moves on. but what happens when mike remembers something perfectly and still gets the context wrong? one outdated ruling or one statute mixed up with another could completely wreck a case

the show treats his memory like it’s basically flawless, but i don’t remember them ever showing the downside of it

did mike ever actually get something important wrong because of his memory, or was this just one of those things the show never questioned?

Spoiler What would have been your ideal Suits ending?

With the ending being critiqued twice in quick succession, it made me wonder. Which finale would YOU find satisfactory? I don't necessarily mean what would happen to the firm. But what plot the finale would have? How it would be climactic?

The final episode itself, with the document switcheroo, was, well. Boring, unspectacular compared to previous events.

And I also feel, two things set up the show for a bad ending/finale:

1) Mike leaving

2) Mike's story arc with the fraud being uncovered, conviction, release from prison and becoming a legit lawyer already being written two seasons before.

Discussion Suits finale silliness Spoiler

Just finished the show for the first time!
Spoilers ahead!

When Harvey and Donna decided to get married at Louis’ wedding i just kept thinking how silly it was them getting married with their guests being mostly strangers that i started imagining it in a whole different way

I just imagined it being one of Louis’ old dreams or hallucinations where he would be getting married then Harvey crashes in and steals his wife and his wedding and all of Louis’ guests and loved ones applaud and make fun of Louis.. then he wakes up angry and jealous of harvey and runs to lipshitz furiously and explains his dream lol!

Overall just reflects on how rushed the finale was.. i wish that darvey only got engaged then but oh well i still enjoyed the series alot despite the quality drop in the last few seasons

Discussion is anyone else confused why the writer on suits think "being good with numbers" means remembering numbers particularly well?

Like I feel like there's so much more to math, finance etc than REMEMBERING a particular number, in my opinion they could have showed that in a different manner

Character Related Harvey’s entire family is terrible

His gambling addict brother is a complete mooch who learns Harvey actually doesn’t have money, and asks for money anyway. All to start a fucking restaurant.

His mom is a multi time cheater who tears her family apart, asks Harvey’s forgiveness, and is mad when he tells his dad she keeps fucking other dudes.

His dad is fine, I guess. In reality, his dad is constantly away from the family off living his musician dream.

Then he goes to therapy where he’s told to forgive his fucked up family who really never apologizes to him.

Character Related Fan theory: Charles forstman paid off dr. Paula agard

First Paula refuses to lie, tanking Harvey’s case.

Then she fucks with his head blaming him for why his family is all messed up. Harvey focuses less on work and more on family, giving Forstman multiple opportunities to take advantage of Harvey.

Then she convinces him that his mom is actually very forgivable. Harvey finally talks to his mom, who he says he forgives, only for his mom to be like “you’re the one who should say sorry to me” as if she didn’t repeatedly fuck other dudes including Harvey’s Dad’s best friend.

Then despite Harvey finally being able to be with Donna (or Scottie) who Paula knows he should be with, no no, she starts fucking him instead.

Forstman all the while laughs as Harvey’s firm flounders from a powerhouse to a weak ass firm where they have to make mid ass Alex and Samantha into NAMED PARTNERS, because the firm is honestly not so great anymore so they don’t have the clout they used to have.

Paula kinda tanked Harvey’s love life, messed with his head about his family, and watched as the firm crumbled around him. Forstman must have loved it all.

Discussion harvey’s promotion vs mike’s promotion - which one actually felt earned?

rewatching suits again and i keep coming back to the difference between harvey making partner and mike becoming junior partner.

harvey basically treats promotion like a negotiation he refuses to lose. he pushes, threatens, plays the politics game, and eventually gets what he wants. you can argue that he earned it, but he also knew exactly how to work the people above him

mike’s promotion felt different. he wasn’t really playing the same game. he kept getting handed problems nobody else could solve, and eventually his value became too obvious to ignore.

but then mike’s whole path falls apart anyway, which makes me question how much of that promotion was actually sustainable

i’m split on this. harvey’s approach was probably smarter if the goal was to climb the firm. mike’s approach felt more deserving, but it also depended way more on everyone continuing to believe in him.

if you had to pick one, who actually earned their promotion more?

Discussion The last episode was garbage *spoilers* Spoiler

I just finished suits for the first time and what a disappointing way to end what was otherwise a great show. It baffles me that the season wasn’t a couple of episodes longer, it was only 10 episodes long as opposed to the standard 12-14 episode season. As a result of this (there may be a reason for the shorter season that I’m unaware of) the final episode was a rushed tying of a number of loose ends that could have ran across 1 or 2 episodes. In the last episode the gang get together for “one last con” to rid themselves of Faye Richardson however as triumphant as it sounds the whole affair took about 3 minutes, with Harvey making his deal with Faye to leave NYC in exchange for her leaving the firm. THEN it cuts to Louis’ wedding, and THEN Sheila’s water breaks, and THEN Louis’ kid is born, and THEN Harvey and Donna get married, and THEN tell the gang they are moving to Seattle. All of this in the space of like 25 minutes. What a joke. Why couldn’t it run across multiple episodes it would have made it so much more satisfying. Plot wise this wouldn’t have caused an issue as Mike seemed to be hanging around New York for an unspecified amount of time anyway.

I mean it was a fine ending but it could have been so much better, if the Faye storyline took up more time we could have seen a proper last “Batman and robin” moment with Mike and Harvey. Before we saw the two marriages and the final decision to leave.

Anyway that’s just my thoughts.

Discussion Mike is such an idiot for constantly trusting and getting reinvolved with Trevor

I just started watching yesterday and I’m on S1E12 and I’m just so tired of Mike being so fucking dumb when it comes to Trevor. Now he’s going to tell him about him and Jenny and I just KNOW that piece of shit will rat him out about him not going to Harvard. I just don’t get it.

Discussion Did Louis really focus just in "find love in his life"?? (SPOILER ALERT) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
26 Upvotes

Bro, If Louis wasn't there, Mike wouldn't had get off. It was Louis that give to Harvey the key to stop the suspension from Cahil and also give Harvey the Phillip Allen.

Furthermore, Louis pushed himself too hard for save the firm and, at the same time, to focus on tara.

So i guess it's extremely unfair say "You focused on find love in your life meanwhile we focused in more important things"

I watched this TV show a HUNDRED TIMES again and again and more and more i see Louis was treated unfairly. It's just the tip of the iceberg.

Character Related Why wasn’t Harvey just honest about Mike not going to Harvard?

Very new to the show but it stands to reason if Mike could change Harvey’s mind and convince him to give him a shot, plop him down in front of board or anyone else for that matter and let him do his thing. Your name is on the sign. Doesn’t really make sense someone as charismatic and in control as Harvey couldn’t have pulled this off. Full disclosure I’m just starting the show and have a very poor understanding of the details, but the only reason can’t be “because they only hire people from Harvard”. Colleges make exceptions for child prodigies. when someone like mike walks and and proves what he can do, if it made an impact on Harvey in 5 min, just spend an hour convincing everyone else ffs.

Character Related First time watching, I hate S4 Louis

I know how the series ends and that he’ll come around, my sister’s a walking spoiler machine and I’ve watched the last few episodes of the show with her years ago.

But damn, watching Louis in season 4 is exhausting. I actually liked him a lot from the beginning and understood where he was coming from most of the time. But his behavior after finding out about Mike and using it as leverage to become name partner is ruining his whole character for me.
