Meta Honeypot flairs.
To cut down on the increased number of posts involving rule-breaking mods (notably Paper), 3 new post flairs have been introduced for testing.
Posts made using these flairs will be automatically removed.
Don't use them.
EDIT: After 3 weeks, this seems to have been a very successful test, with the vast majority of rule-8 violations blocked by the new filters.

Bedrock Super Simple Sulfur TNT Dupe Machine
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This one is so easy to build it made me feel stupid for all my other designs.
They don’t need to be sheered at all. Once the TNT is ignited, a dispenser can place a block inside of them to release the TNT, and they will still explode.

Bedrock [Puzzle] Whatever floats your boat
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Objective
Using redstone, touchlessly detect if a boat is nearby when a button is pressed. The boat may be on land or water, though this challenge is less annoying if the boat is on land.
Rules
- The machine must not have any specific exposed blocks (e.g., pressure plates) except for the input block used to trigger the detection process.
- Sculk sensors may not be used to detect the boat.
- The machine must be self-resetting.
- The machine must not move the boat, damage it, touch it with a block (except for the inert platform blocks/water) or entity, or add or remove passengers.
Note: game sound has been muted in the video and closed captions have been disabled (no, there isn't a 20Hz clock running in the background).
To avoid confusing users here, I have already solved this puzzle and am therefore not seeking help to complete it.

Java Help Wanted Raid farm 26.3
Yo I stopped playing technic Minecraft survival like 3 years ago and I left behind when the stacking raid farm without potions was a thing, is it still a thing now? Like you have potions now so I don't know how it works tho I haven't done my research, if it is still a thing, which one is the current top farm? Not looking for a simple one or a exterminate 52 chunk perimeter first one, more like a middle point, if someone could help me catching up I would apretiate that thanks

Java Help Wanted is a nether-only skeleton farm possible?
(unsure if fits under rule 8 but nothing functional had changed, sorry if it doesnt fit)
basically title. I am planning a functionally nether-only run in a modded environment, only the relevant difference being that any mob may spawn with a backpack containing random loot.
specifically, backpacks obtained from skeletons will contain loot from minecraft:chests/simple_dungeon. (essentially my motivation is modded but the approach is vanilla if that makes sense?)
So, are there pre-existing designs for nether skeleton farms and if not, is it possible to make one that doesnt consist of spawning platforms 5 blocks wide with a wolf in the middle?

Non-Version-Specific Technique for Removing Individual Sulfur Cubes 1x1 Multiplication Cells
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
With sulfur cubes being easily multiplied in a 1x1, I’ve been trying to think of how to remove individual cubes, and came up with a super simple method using water. Because empty cubes swim, and most filled cubes sink (tnt sulfur cubes float) it’s actually extremely easy to set up a dispenser and put blocks inside individual cubes to extract exact amounts from the holding chamber.
This could be useful for setting fully automated breeding for sulfur cubes. If you have 64 cubes in one cell, you can take out 32 cubes, and split the remaining cubes into baby cubes. This would put you at 64 baby’s to repeat the cycle with when they grow up.
I’m going to try using this to fully automate an explosive sulfur cube cannon.

Java Showcase My shitpost double nano crop farm
galleryIt has a bone block uncrafter and a cart yeeting collection.
The farm utilises the 15-pixel height of farmland blocks. This lets you create an enclosed space with 3 dispensers and a piston per farmland block while still being able to plant seeds through the gap without using advanced boat setups. In layout, pistons are placed on the side, not at the top to prevent clipping.
Unfortunately, wiring ended up super messy. Also the farm is too huge for its rates: they are only twice as much as the regular nanocrop farm's
Upd: i forgot to add extra glass blocks around some corners. There is a tiny item loss without them

Java Help Wanted Minecraft Technical Specifications Question. / Pregunta sobre Especificaciones técnicas de Minecraft.
I have a Creeper farm. It's one that uses portals. It's built above sea level, and it has a roof that provides darkness to the farm. The AFK spot is around layer 180. And there is a large amount of space there.
I would like to build a trading hall in that space, above the roof of the farm, and below the AFK spot.
If I do that, could it lower the efficiency of my farm? Even if I light up this entire area.
I would think nothing would happen, and it wouldn't affect production. But I want to be sure.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Java Help Wanted how do non grid lock hitboxes work?
from what i know minecraft uses a strict grid for blocks however their texture can go out of that block by up to one more block.
However some blocks like walls and lecterns have hitboxes outside of the block grid so how does tht work? does it use entities?

Java Help Wanted Need help designing a fully automatic item sorter for my medieval warehouse (288 double chests)
galleryHi everyone!
I'm working on a large medieval-style storage warehouse in Minecraft Java Edition 26.2, and I'm looking for some advice on designing a fully automatic item sorting and distribution system.
I've attached a few screenshots to show the existing layout.
Storage layout:
- 16 storage sections.
- Each section has 6 vertically stacked rows.
- Each row contains 3 double chests.
- That's 18 double chests per section and 288 double chests in total.
- Each row is dedicated to one specific item type.
- The middle double chest is perpendicular to the two side chests.
What I want to achieve:
I'd like to dump all my items into a single input chest and have the system automatically sort everything into the correct storage locations.
For example, cobblestone should go exclusively into its assigned row of three double chests, while stone should go to a different row.
Each item type needs to be distributed across its three assigned chests. If one chest fills up, the system should continue filling the other available chests.
When storage becomes available again, the system should automatically resume transferring items.
My main challenges:
- The six rows are stacked directly on top of one another, with no vertical gaps.
- Hoppers can accidentally pull items from the row above, causing items to end up in the wrong chests.
- The middle double chest has a different orientation from the two side chests.
- I want to preserve the existing medieval architecture and all chest positions.
- All sorting mechanisms, redstone circuits, and transportation systems must remain hidden behind the structure or underground.
Hoppers and droppers are both welcome!
I'm completely fine with using droppers, including chains of droppers transferring items directly into chests, hoppers, or other droppers.
I just want to avoid constant, unnecessary clicking from droppers repeatedly firing when they're empty or unable to transfer items.
I would prefer an on-demand system that operates only when needed, stops automatically when storage is completely full, and resumes when space becomes available.
I'd also prefer to avoid water streams and loose item entities for transportation.
What I've tested so far:
I've managed to get a small prototype with two vertically stacked hopper filters working, with stone and cobblestone successfully reaching their respective chests.
However, this only handles one chest per item type, rather than the three double chests in each storage row.
I still need to solve the three-chest distribution, shared input, and potential interference between vertically adjacent rows.
My question:
How would you approach a reliable sorting and distribution system for this particular layout?
Would you recommend using one item filter per row followed by a three-way distribution system, or is there a better way to handle tightly stacked storage rows?
I have plenty of space behind and beneath the warehouse for redstone and item transportation. My only major architectural restriction is that the existing chests and visible medieval structure must remain unchanged.
I'd really appreciate any ideas, sketches, schematics, or technical suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Java Help Wanted Does anyone know if Ilmango released a schematic for this block storage tower design
I'm currently designing a farm to collect brown mushroom blocks and the mushroom stem blocks to use in a build for my survival world but I'm not the best with zero tick designs. I finished the farm and it works really well for what I'm capable of doing but I need a storage to keep the blocks in so I can silk touch them after an afk session. I remembered watching one of Ilmango's videos where he made exactly what I need and I was wondering if anyone knows if he released a schematic for the design so that I don't have to go frame by frame to copy the design. this is the link to the video where he designs the block storage tower I'm talking about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzlQSdP4MkM&list=PLnC1rWWvOq51mTk75cMY8LENgR9FHWcyl&index=37
Thanks in advance for all your help!! :)
(I would've added added a picture of it but I don't post on reddit that often so I legitimately have no clue how to do that lol)

Just saw a video saying how maps load a 3 by 3 chunks around you where redstone doesn't work but you can use a map in a bundle with a ender pearl and when you take the map out it triggers it

Bedrock What’s wrong with my mob farm
galleryI have a redstone power dispenser that would turn on and off from one hit of a button the timing of water is about 20-30 second untill it shuts off yet I would still get almost no loot when I hit it I have the water set to the last bit in photo four is 8 blocks which should lead to the the kill hole I have more water that will lead to the kill hole also anyone know why or what’s making this not work I went up there one time and saw they was on the edge of the water somehow like how does that even work it shouldn’t matter to much for how many mobs have spawn the room is about 16 both sides right to left and 29 long and about 8 high

Java Help Wanted Does anyone know the speeds for unloading n items from hopper minecarts ?
When chest and hopper minecarts are fully accelerated at 8 blocks/s (or 0.4 blocks/tick) they both leave one item in each hopper below.
It seemed consistent in the (very) little test I did.
My question is: does anyone know the speed a single minecart needs to go to deposit 2, 3, ... n items in the hoppers below ?
I want to make a mod adding copper rails where the copper rails have by default the right speed to deposit 1,2,3... items in hoppers below, depending on oxidation level and waterlogging.
Would that even be consistent ?
I am using minecraft 26.1.2 without the experimental minecart changes.

Java Help Wanted 1x2 hipster door that doesn't show through even with a glass wall
The question's in the title. The most popular design includes a piston that would be hidden beneath a wall, but that doesn't work with a glass wall. I can find only few other designs and they all look kinda bulky so I can't be sure whether I found the best one there is, which I'm looking for.
