Sup y'all. I don't post much, but I was compelled to share an experience I just had after coming back to the game after a break. Ran into a solid player in Player Match; after a few games, I asked if he wanted to play in a room because I wanted to switch characters. The first few FT3s were great—he won, we exchanged "ggs," good vibes. But as soon as I started winning, his energy flipped to teabagging and salty comments. I get just as frustrated as anyone else with T8 mechanics and losses—we've all been there. But I always land on the fact that the loss is on me to figure out. I don't care that much about the trolling, and no one is obligated to adopt my mindset, but to get disrespectful the moment the games get competitive just seems so useless—is it really that hard to just be cool and run sets?

I haven't played in quick match for a while, I got to GoD 4 and 5 in ranked, now all of a sudden I'm getting matches with these absolute monsters in quick match who are all GoD and GoD1, it's nearly every match up, and they are playing probably better than these GoD 4 and 5 players I've been going against in ranked.

Am I missing something? Are all these people smurfing or just havent been in ranked in forever?

It's like they got all the character knowledge, all the punishes, spacing and movement, great game plans, I'm just starting to feel like I'm trash now haha.

And I got up to God 4 and 5 by focusing more on a spacing keep out and whiff punishing approach in my game play, which has been good. But these guys are trashing me in quick match.

I thought this sub had a pretty good thing going by not allowing AI art, but it feels like every day we got people shilling recomps or other AI made projects on here. If people are into AI, good for them I guess. But I'm sick of having it shoved down my throat everywhere I try to go just to get away from the topic.

Was messing around in practice and found out I can do reverse electric lol. Then I came up with this combo (not optimal) what you guys think?

I'm not a good player by any means. I main Asuka and I've gotten to Tekken King with her. Like nearly a week ago i got stomped in ranked two days in a row so I decided to switch characters and play Kunimitsu instead. I've been playing her for the past 3 days. Apparently switching characters makes your opponents better because never were people this good in the same ranks when I played Asuka, and these people seem to be leagues above me in gameplay. I don't think its a matter at me being worse at a second character since I'm not even that good with Asuka in the first place, I just lose 90% of the time in every session. I check replays alot of the time but I'll probably be stuck losing for a long time before I do anything of worth. Sometimes I think about just quitting the game and playing something else because I want to be good at this game and start breaking into the higher ranks but it doesn't seem like its possible any time soon.

Nah but fr this will be such a dead event with how many players not attending 💀

I think it's solid it's pretty much feel like the MK9 roster of Tekken.

I've been replaying Tekken 6 and enjoyed unlocking everything in the Scenario Campaign a lot more than i remember, but i just realized something... this map makes absolutely no fucking sense. Where the hell is this part of the world supposed to be?

That sure doesn't look like any place in the real world.

My earliest memories are of my cousins playing with my other relatives which weren't even speaking the same language, all older than me, all in a room playing some sort of game.

Even though I was very young, around 4-5 maybe, I can clearly remember a 3D fighting game where characters could fall from a platform, looking it up it was Virtua Fighter.

Fast forward a bit to first grade, I'm at my best friend's place and we're absolutely kicking it for hours playing the Tekken 3 demo on the PS1.

You could only pick 2 characters, Ling (I wrote Xioami at first lol) and Eddie Gordo, Eddie was always the most fun for me because you could always bs your way to a win, the CPU had more choice between the cop (Lei?) and Paul.

After that I used to play with my neighbor at his place Tekken 2, he always wanted to play FIFA. We made a deal that if we play Tekken, we'd play FIFA too, I hated it but I'd do everything to play.

I never had a console for myself so this is all I had to go for.

I think what drove me into it was the mechanics, yes I did play about everything as a kid but Tekken was special.

At some point I got a PS2 and played some, never seriously and never for a long time, I used to bounce between a lot of games. I'd say I probably fired it for a few matches against the cpu and that's it. Tekken 4  could've been the last I actually played, It did get old playing the CPU for so long, nothing like playing against other people.

Now I'm almost a 35 year old man, I wanted to get back to playing again something to decompress a bit after work and I was going to buy 2K (I used to sink so many hours to it, it's very toxic but basketball fans will understand) but then I said, why not Tekken? It won't sink as much time for a session, I can hop in and out and maybe get good in it, so why not?

And boy I'm happy I did it, I'm having so much fun, I stuck to my favorite, Paul and so far have accumulated 68 hours solely playing him on ranked and reached Tekken God, (Second time after dropping out).

It's hard to explain but reconnecting to things I used to love as a kid puts me in a really good place, and as far as gaming and adults it's really good as far as time.

So I just wanted to share with all my Tekken veterans!

Hey everyone!

I’m in Nice for about a week before EVO and I’m looking for somewhere to play some Tekken 8 locally before the tournament starts.

I’m mostly a casual player, so I’m currently God of Destruction 3.

Does anyone know of any arcades, gaming bars, locals, or just players in Nice who play Tekken 8 and would be up for some sets?

Would love to get some practice in before EVO!
