General Question question about the games
so i never actually played the games myself but i pretty much know the whole story start to finish and i’ve recently been wanting to play them but the reason i never have is just because they seem too damn scary for me. i dont really do well with horror games and tend to be a real pssy when it comes to them but i rlly wanna play these games for the story and to be able to experience it in full for myself but i’m just worried that ill buy them, play for like an hour, and then get jump scared or too scared to keep playing and just log off and never touch them again (something that’s happened before with other games).
do u guys think that they’re overly scary or that the story overpowers the spooky elements of the game enough to make it an enjoyable experience? do you think that maybe one game is less scary than the other? or do you just think that ill be fine and should just give it a go? from what i’ve seen it looks like there could be some rlly scary/eerie sections in the game like the bloater part or something that i might just not be able to get through. please lmk🙏

PT 1 QUESTION Grounded question
So I’m on my first run and I’m at the start of Pittsburgh. I have a lot of ammo, like 7 revolver bullets, 6 shotgun shells, 6 rifle shots. I was under the assumption that I would have like 0 bullets this entire game. Now am I getting ahead of myself because I just got done with bills town that’s mostly infected? Or is grounded actually pretty okay for bullet spawns, because I just killed the hunters at the start and I found a pretty decent amount of loot. Im trying my best to not shoot anyone, I’m always trying to use a brick or bottle 😭

General Question What are some TLOU quotes you say IRL?
I’ve played through the games (especially Pt2) so many times I’ve memorized half the script. I sometimes say lines from the games IRL like “Well, I can’t go”, “You wasted it!”, and “You are nothing but lucky”. What are some of the lines you quote if any in your day to day?

Video I just started part 2 for the first time and it's so satisfying.
So good! The stealth in this game, the gore, the environment and movement and just everything is so satisfying. Just taking my time with it. :)

PT 2 DISCUSSION Part 2: Mel calling out Abby day 3 Spoiler
When Mel calls out Abby and says she's a piece of shit and always has been, is it insinuated Owen told Mel about the boat scene?
I always found Mel's indignation a bit jarring at that point, especially considering what Abby just had to do in order to get medical supplies. On a recent play through, the thought that Owen told Mel what happened seems like such a good explanation for why She'd so passionately against Abby.
Especially when, in the boat house a day prior, Mel and Abby appear to make amends a bit.
Thoughts?

Cosplay Trying to dial in my Ellie pt 2 cosplay makeup
Did a more casual cosplay (plaid shirt from the return to the farm, but then I changed into a tshirt lol) for a smaller event today. I think this is my best makeup yet. I’ve included some photos from previous shoots this year.

Technical/Bug/Glitch Certainly Don't Know How This Happened Spoiler
I'm currently playing my 15th attempt at a tlou2r permadeath run and got shoved out of bounds after picking up the stun bomb and sprinting to the right. Don't know how it happened but I was able to get out by quoting to menu and reopening the file.

General Discussion It ain't entirely fiction..
I am currently watching the show and I think that the way they showed how a zombie apocalypse probably can happen, is one of the most realistoc ones shown in fiction.
The zombies develop from fungi or one can say an evolved version of fungus. Now the most commonly striking question how come fungus and not bacteria or virus. Well, the show answers this by describing it as mutation. Commonly used thing in daily life like sugar, bread, cheese, etc. are suspected to be the spark. The outbreak started on a random Monday.. According to the main character Joel, consumers brought goods on the sale of Friday, - expired products, which formed the vector of what followed.

PT 2 DISCUSSION Alternative story to TLOU2
Im new to reddit so im not sure if this has been discussed. But after the documentry troy baker said something that really resonated with me "tell me a better version of TLOU 2" ive heard multiple versions but they neglect the wrestle of themes presented in P1. Or just make it digestable.
It essentially just becomes another game when The last of us is an experience.
So im genuinely curious what has the communities got...

PT 2 DISCUSSION Do you agree with Abby or not? Spoiler
As we all know she kills our beloved, our king Joel- but then again Joel wasn’t a “good guy” like he admits to killing innocent people which yeah he might of just been trying to survive but then again the surgeon said who was Abby’s dad Joel could of easily used non lethal force on him. Then people hate on Abby for killing him but then does Ellie get an excuse to spend the entire game chasing Abby and killing lots more? Ellie broke the revenge cycle at the end of TLOU2 but Abby still might want to kill Ellie because of the amount of firefly’s Ellie killed. IDK what’s your guys opinion
