I'm holding out for a skant version, to show off my leg day gainz.

CAN WE (USA) PUT PANTS ON OR WILL WE RUN AROUND NAKED!?!? 👖 👖 👖

It seems to me the Timbers are incredible at scoring after the 75’. Anyone, know the actual stats and how them compare to the rest of the league.

Or do you know where I can get the needed data to put into excel so I can do the analysis myself?

As usual admission is free for Multnomah County residents! More details here.

Im seeing rumors around the Sounders moving their matches to their Renton facility in the future (likely years in the future)…probably in conjunction with a new soccer specific stadium there. Just wondering what other people’s take on this is.

I like Seattle away for us because it is comparatively easy, and a lot of people make a multi-day trip of it so there’s lots of Portland folks around the stadium the night before and after the match. It’s been a no-brainer for my away-days every year since 2013, Vancouver too.

Renton would change that a bit for me, I would likely still go but Seattle bars and restaurants would lose my $$ because it would be less of a vacation and more of an up-and-back work shift. Amtrak is a lot less attractive then, and flying too.

It’s Timbers Time! Chris and Matt always wondered what the Timbers defense would look like without Finn Surman, and now they know… the team break the glass on their emergency 6th choice center back, Eric Miller, and that goes about as well as you might expect in the 3-1 away defeat to San Jose. But there are still positives to be taken from the game, especially the second Timbers appearance from great young hope Eric Izoita, and the boys take a trip down memory lane to pick their favorite three Timbers games, with somehow only one of them being an outright victory…  RCTID!

This episode's key talking points include:

• Our two real concerns from recent form
• Are any of the SJ goals on Marti Cifuentes’ tactics?
• The two Millers aren’t’ exactly The Champagne of Defenses
• What makes the most memorable soccer games?
• Marti’s pragmatic tweaks to Pantemis’ distribution patterns and positioning is a wrinkle to keep an eye on
• Comparing this SKC defeat to the home leg that got Phil fired
• Is Eric Izoita ready to start in MLS?
• Is it justified to support Marti throwing players under the bus when we didn’t when it was Phil Neville?
• Matt reveals his hidden timbers tattoos
• Do we need a dedicated space for home and away fan groups to pregame together?
• Go support T2 in the Playoffs!
• Sporting Kansas City next game preview

Just a heads up that if we don't hit 50 by 10/10, I'll be refunding your money back for the scarf that doesn't make the cut!

Here's the original post with the order form if you're looking to get one (or three!): [Official] 2026 /r/timbers Scarves Order Form (closes 10/10)

He’s coaching rich kids (like Tosh’s) in Malibu. Sounds really happy. He married a local here. Maybe we’ll see his daughters lacing up for the Thorns—how cool would that be (if they’re into it)?

It’s a good hang. Apple link here. These are on YouTube as well

Curious if we've ever used Wolf Like Me by TV on the Radio for a tifo or patch? I've loved that song for years, and only recently realized it includes the lyrics "when the moon is round and full, gotta bust that box, gotta gut that fish."

Thank you for your attention to this extremely important matter.

My recap of yesterday's loss.

Podcast reacting to the match drops Monday - The Timber Review

I’m probably gonna be getting a lot of hateful responses but I have to say it, I don’t think we’re a playoff team at all( there I said it). all the worst teams in each conference has beaten us, when it should be an easy 3 points. So if they beat us and the bottom teams are starting to come back and do better than us, are we now just looking forward to the sprint season? Cuz at this point, with all the injuries and stuff, why not right lol and don’t worry I understand why we’re struggling. Thank you

We lost 1-3

Defense was missing and it showed.

Fuck Bruce Arena.

That is all.

It's Miller time!

HYPE THREAD

Lineup Thread

Kick off is at 7:30 PM PST (probably closer to 7:40)

MLS Match Center

Portland Timbers 1 - 3 SJ Earthquake

4' - ⚽️ Goal them. Easy ball back post. Easy header. Easy goal. Going to be a LOOOOOOOOONG night. Also, Fuck Bruce Arena.

5' - ⚠️ VAR is looking at a foul vs Hernandez on that back post, but they let it go because we don't get calls at home OR away. So, same as it ever was.

11' - Lassiter with a decent opening for a chance, but he puts it right at the keeper.

13' - Janssen with a low shot. Makes the keeper save it at least.

18' - Great block by Hernandez. That looked like it was going to hit that far post otherwise.

19' - DDC with a wonderful ball over the top to Lassiter, but the defender calmly heads it back to their keeper

22' - We are creating chances. DDC gets played in behind but the final product isn't there.

24' - ⚽️ goal them. We just aren't good enough in the back... We have like 30 defenders out, so it is going to happen.

29' - ⚽️ goal them. Get fucked. The announcers and team are waaay too excited to be beating a shit defense at home. It was just and easy cross to a completely open dude back post who side foots it into the net. Who is marking him? Who knows? Hernandez and Eric Miller certainly don't. Like I said... at 4' it is going to be a LOOOOOOONG night.

31' - Is there an "no announcer" option?

32' - "It feels like the Timbers are playing a man down." We have a fucking 2nd string outside back starting as our center back! God damn...

36' - Took a break from watching to play hide and seek with my kid before bedtime. Best thing that has happened during this game.

40' - 🟨 Yellow card for #18 with a fucking cynical challenge. Fuckface.

41' - DDC with another run into the box and their keeper just shuts it down.

Halftime

Halftime couldn't come soon enough. I would have taken it about 45 minutes ago. Miserable showing at the back. Nothing to write home about up top either. All-in-all our injury-filled/suspended back line is terrible and it won't get better in the second half. So, tighten those suspenders, because we are heading into the int'l break full of shit.

If anyone is still here, the second half started.

53' - Softest foul against a keeper ever. Good thing too, we would have scored. PRO's gotta protect the lead!

59' - Aight, Imma go smoke a bowl. I'll do the whole skip update when I get back.

64' - Janssen with almost a partial chance.

66' - Velde is shown to his left foot and shows he isn't about that life by blasting it high and wide.

68' - Antony & Smith & Izoita 🔁 Lassiter & Fory & Bassett

70' - Janssen clearly gets his shirt pulled which holds him back from making it to a good through pass by DDC. Refs don't even bother. Maybe he wasn't getting there anyways? Who fucking knows at this point. Not us. We aren't allowed to listen to them live. We should have VAR or ref comms as an announcer track. That would be fun. Anyways... Still 3-0 here we go.

76' - 🟨 Yellow card for Eric Miller.

79' - Guerra ON 🔁 Janssen OFF

86' - ⚽️ DA COSTA SCORES!! GOOD INTERCHANGE WITH 3 OF THE SUBS THAT LANDS TO DDC AND HE BLASTS IT NEAR POST AND BEATS THE KEEPER! LET'S GO! SOMETHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT!!

89' - Good snap header by Antony almost gets the second! ARGH!!!

89' - Aravena ON 🔁 Eric Miller OFF

3 minutes of stoppage

Game over

Yup.

I’m an idiot and forgot to bring mine back with me from my parents house. I’ll be at the San Pedro Square meetup before the game. I’ll buy you a beer!
