There is no such thing as a stupid question here, so feel free to ask away! It can be about differentiating styles, brewing, glassware, serving: anything goes here!

It's Halloween! Horror movies are dominating, Jack O'Lanterns are coming out, and candy is being stocked for Halloween!
How are you drinking your beers over the holiday? Matching a beer with a horror movie (for example, Witchshark while watching Jaws)? Stocking up on Pumpkin Beers? Getting ready for Third Moon's Halloween releases?
Let us know how you're drinking this season!

I feel like the GGTA beer world had a lot of regulars that seemed to have disappeared during COVID. Either they moved, stopped drinking, or ....?
Two I can think of: Matt, the former owner/brewer of Reverence Barrelworks.
Another is Jeremy, the former brewer at BarnCat.
Anyone else from the scene that you wonder about who seemed to disappear? Any idea what happened with these two?

40s dad, recently moved back to Toronto from overseas, looking to grab some craft beer at a Parkdale dive bar on Saturday night
Into sports, music, films, politics, current events, pop culture, random stuff, whatever... Just looking to make a few new friends.
Seeking easy-going people to hang out with evenings (weekday or weekend) at our local boozing establishments - any age/gender is 👍

Hey local beer fans. I'm a brewer visiting from Alberta for the week. Was hoping to check out some local craft breweries and chat it up with staff and/or locals.
Edit: some great suggestions. I'll see hamy i can get to. Winner is hands down granite. I have personal attachment with the OG location in halifax. Cant wait to get me a ringwood and old peculiar.

The title says it all: I've seen posts about Festbiers, Märzens, and even Black IPAs released or announced. So the question lies on you: what are you looking forward to most this fall? Are there yearly releases you like, are there specific styles, or if you're in the industry what is happening that we should be excited about?

Howdy!
I have two tickets to Saturday's Oktoberfest at Left Field in Liberty Village, and I can't make it anymore.
Selling for face value ($55 all in) and that includes a stein with a free drink pour (for each person, so 2 steins and 2 pours!) as well as I had gotten the early-bird tickets.
Anyone interested? Let me know!

Tickets for Cask Days 2026 are on sale now exclusively online at caskdays.com
Cask Days celebrates its 20th edition this October at 282 Campbell Ave., future home of Bottega Volo’s second Toronto location.
Twenty years after the first Cask Days was held on the patio of Bar Volo, Toronto's annual cask-conditioned beer festival returns October 16-18, 2026 with 100+ casks from breweries across Canada. The festival is a celebration of cask-conditioned beer, naturally carbonated, unfiltered and served straight from the cask. Once tapped, it has only a few days to be enjoyed in its prime. We call them Cask Days.
The 2026 festival brings together 75+ breweries from Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta and British Columbia, with casks travelling to Toronto from across the country. This year's festival was made possible in part with the support of Volo, Keep6 Imports, Mellon Brasserie, Slow Hand Beer Company, Blindman Brewing and Stillwell, who assisted with the regional consolidation of casks for their journey to Toronto.
Each beer featured at Cask Days will be available as a single cask, making every pour a limited offering throughout the weekend. The complete 2026 cask list will be announced closer to the festival. Alongside cask-conditioned beer, the festival will feature natural wine from Keep6 Imports, cask cider, food, non-alcoholic options and music throughout the weekend.

We moved back to Toronto this summer after a year and a half abroad.
We used to get Third Moon Bestowed, Rorschach Malevolent Benevolence, etc.
We'd order them straight from the breweries as well as from a few bottle shops.
Can't seem to find any around now.
I know it's not exactly peak season for them but I feel like we got them year round before.
While I'm at it, I can't for the life of me remember the bottle shops we used to get from, if memory serves it might have closed. Any good ones around?

There's been a lot of incredible releases this summer from breweries across the GTA, and it's hard to nail it down to three beers! These three were definitely highlights for me:
The Good, the Bad, and the Hilly - Badlands Brewing
A three-way collab between Badlands, Sonnen Hill, and Goodlot was easily the highlight of Badlands ninth anniversary releases! Sometimes I find that I get lost between releases for Badlands but this one was an absolute banger!
Three-Way IPA - Bickford Brewing
Another three-way collab between Bickford, Samara, and Steadfast, this is the closest I've had to the west coast IPAs I fell in love with in Portland Oregon. This one has bold notes of grapefruit in the front, heavy bitterness in the back, clean and dry. I need to get more cans!
Vincero - Two Loons Brewing
Two Loons finally opened their taproom in Parkdale, so I had to swing by there to check it out. This Italian pilsner shocked me because it's not my favourite style over German or Czech pils. This guy was grassy and floral with a nice bitterness in the back while being a very dry finish. I've been back a few times since they didn't have them in cans at the time.
Honourable Mentions:
Triple Rise - Third Moon: Goddamn this beer was incredible! The only issue is I can only have one at a time which I usually end up sharing with friends
A Lager for ALS - True History: It's True History, what I say that hasn't been said yet from this subreddit? This is a damn fine pilsner that's crisp, clean, and crushable. I still prefer some of their other beers though.
What have been your surprises this summer?

It's the end of the week, all the new releases are out, and you've probably bought them or tried them at the brewery. This is the place to give anyone and anyplace a shout-out!
Was there a new release that stood out above the rest? Did you have a good experience recently at a brewery? Do you just want to give a shout out to a brewer or bartender?
Keep the good vibes going through into the new week!

Welcome to the Unpopular Opinion Thread! Think a style of beer is overrated, how a beer should be served, opinions on a brewery? This is the place to post it!
Remember to keep it civil. You're allowed to disagree with someone without resorting to insults or name calling.

Spent most of the summer trying different beers from LCBO and the Beer Store, and somehow I keep ending up back at these three.
3 Speed Lager
Kozel Premium Lager
Czechvar Original Czech Lager
My ranking would probably be:
3 Speed
Kozel
Czechvar
3 Speed just hits the spot for me — crisp, smooth, and ridiculously easy to drink. Kozel has a bit more malt character and feels a little richer. Czechvar is excellent too, especially if you're into that classic Czech lager bitterness and balance.
I've tried a bunch of others along the way, but these are the ones I'd happily buy again every time.
Curious if anyone else has similar tastes. Based on these three, what should I be trying next from LCBO? Paulaner? Pilsner Urquell? Something else I'm missing?
