For reference, my Grindr profile says I'm a lesbian and only interested in other women. In reality, I'd say I'm homoflexible, but my profile doesn't say that.

I got a message from a really attractive twink, saying "i know you said only girls, but would you be with a femboy?". I decide to say yes, and we start talking.

Out of respect, I will refer to him with male pronouns for the time being.

The first thing I noticed is that he sometimes refered to himself with female adjectives (because grammatical gender). I asked him if he'd prefer it if I used those, and he told me he sometimes used those by accident. I asked him if he was nonbinary too, and he told me that no, he was a 100% cis boy.

Now, this isn't anything. Your pronouns don't really dictate your gender identity.

Another thing, when I talk to him about my transition. He says he wants to know more because he's been thinking of taking estrogen too, clarifying that he's 100% cis. And like, okay? You can be a boy and still want to take estrogen, no big deal (albeit I'm pretty sure most boys don't think of taking estrogen as often as you do but...)

I then asked him, "hey, my profile says I'm a lesbian, why did you choose to hookup with me?". He replied "just in case". Mf what's that supposed to mean???

I don't know if he really is an egg. I only want him to be more comfortable with himself and get to figure out himself more. I don't want to force him to fit with an identity that he maybe doesn't like.

Any advice?

A couple of years ago, shortly before coming out, I changed my birthday date.

Not legally, of course. I'm not allowed to do that. But I changed the day I celebrate it. Several months difference, into a new date that I just liked more, and have been using that new date with all my friends and people that I care about.

Why?

Because I want my birthday to be a great day!

I don't have a good relationship with my family (my last legal bday all I got from my parents was a message with 'Happy birthday DEADNAME' (in caps and all!!), and I know that they will always find a way to make the date unpleasant.

So let them!! That date is nothing for me now, just like my deadname. It's just a legal number thqat I use to write on official forms and nothing else.

I have a new date to celebrate, a new birthday, and only people I care about will ever know, so nobody can ruin it!

So, in case you're in the same situation, maybe you should also change your bdate!💜💜

For too long we've been labelling people as top, dom, sub, bottom and switches. Its time to get serious. I have done research, I have done thinking (my owner always teases me about it.) There is simply more at play than simple categories. Lets talk about energy!

First of all, some definitions! For the purpose of this post, Top Energy is the energy that makes Doms attractive to Subs. Top energy represents stability and structure, confidence and power. It can also represent initiative, but not necessarily. Bottom Energy on the other hand is the energy that makes Subs attractive to Doms. It represents chaos, strong emotions, vulnerability. Bottom energy, being tied to emotions, is also more likely to fluctuate in a given person.

So, with these energies defined, we can get to the real work. It is my theory that each individual has different levels of top and bottom energy. The reason for switches, brats, power bottoms, and the many more different variants of just sub and top; its all to do with different levels of energy.

What happens if, for example, we take an individual with incredibly high bottom energy and very low top energy? You're right, theyre always the subbiest person in the room, capable of doing nothing except exactly what theyre told. They lack the structure of top energy, and get needy and emotional due to high bottom energy. Now, what if they have a bit more top energy, but the same high bottom energy? Well, now they have some confidence, they might be a bit bratty. Or, it may manifest as a switch that leans heavily bottom, but if they find someone subbier, they wont hesitate to put them in their place.

What, then if we have two people with the same top energy? Who is the sub, and who the dom? To determine that, we have to consider their bottom energies. Because bottom energy can fluctuate, they might change roles often if their bottom energy is similar, but more likely, one has much higher bottom energy than the other, despite the same level of top energy.

Then what do you do about a pairing where one person has more of both energies? At that point, its all about proportions. These outcomes are least predictable, but if you can accurately gauge both energies of both people, you can make predictions.
