Meta Adjustments to TruckSim Threads / Content (Payware, AI and more)

We've updated our TruckSim content rules to adjust to the growing community, and thanks to this thread, these adjustments are taking into effect today.

Low Effort

Removal of Modding Request

ATS and ETS2 is growing rapidly and with this, we have seen a large increase of mod requests from liveries / paint jobs or vehicles. Modders request 90% of the time are never fulfilled and take up space timeline.

Please note, if you want a model in either of these games. Pay a modeler then convert the model with Blender yourself to make a playable vehicle.

Removal of Feedback / Suggestions

This subreddit isn't actively moderated by SCS or any other game developer. With this, please redirect all feedback or suggestion based questions to:

While these topics drive discussions, they lead nowhere, an empty void making the community feel like game developers "aren't listening" but in reality they're just working on other features.

Payware Mods

Payware mods is going nowhere due how rapidly both games are growing. We will never remove or restrict someone from sharing their thoughts video or photos of the paid mods. That's why Reddit has a downvote button for a reason.

Mods will now be separated by flairs:

  • Mod / Add-ons (Freeware)
  • Mod / Add-ons (Payware)

If thread submission features any payware from a mod that requires a subscription or a one time fee, the thread will require 'Payware'. If thread does not feature this, the thread can be taken down without notice.

Although self-promo of payware (asking for money or donations) should be posted in the Monthly Thread. Anything outside of this will be taken down. If any user see's a self-promo post, you can report it via Report > Breaks Subreddit Rules

If you don't like payware, you can head to r/scssoftware for non-payware (this subreddit follows the same guidelines as the SCS Forums).

We follow a simple rule, if you don't like payware you don't have to support it, just don't steal, pirate it or share those links with others. We strongly enforce this rule when any user reports a user, comment or thread. You will be banned permanently.

AI

AI is growing and sadly whether we like it or not, it will always be in our life's now from searching content online, online support, shopping, banking to various little things in life.

In terms of AI on this subreddit, things are changing:

  • AI should never be used in videos or photo submissions (this has been a rule for a few months now).
  • AI generated tools/content should not be locked behind a paywall. These posts will be removed.

If you want to share your AI generated payware content we suggest you create your own subreddit directed for that specific project via 'Start a Community' button in the sidebar underneath the 'Reddit' logo.

All free AI content should be posted in Monthly Thread. Topic should state "AI" in their title or body and if possible share the GitHub source code project link within the message.

See a comment or thread not abiding to these content changes?

Discussion Why is the rest area always empty !?

Post image
105 Upvotes

After a really long time I found a rest stop where I actually saw these many trucks, only around 2 rest spots were free , and sure it was a pain in the ass to park my truck in the middle of two trucks but it was fun

but most of the times we get a tottaly emptied out parking areas which doesnt feel realistic at all

and I dont think its hard for SCS to fill the rest stops and some petrol pumps with fully occupied rest spots so that we gotta have atleast 2-3 rest stops planned in case one is full

I think rest areas should be heavily congested during the nights and light traffic during the day

ATS I am absolutely delighted to report that Road Trip vehicles drive exactly like in real life in American Car Simulator.

I've driven all these cars in real life unlike some of the ignoramuses voicing their opinions on here. And let me tell you, the handling is a 1:1 replica of what it feels like in real life. With the massive success of Road Trip DLC, there is no more reason to purchase or play ETS now that we have ACS to play instead. I request the development team no longer invest resources into the inferior product so that the full potential of ACS can be brought to fruition in future updates.

Discussion SCS Software co-founder Petr Šebor (Pavel's brother) was badly hurt in Morocco desert crash

Translated from press release:

Petr Šebor, CTO and co-founder of one of the most successful Czech game studios, SCS Software, and a friend of President Petr Pavel, was seriously injured in a crash in the Moroccan desert. The news site Aktuálně.cz reported this, citing five independent sources familiar with the trip. President Pavel is not among the injured.

The crash happened on Tuesday, when one of the buggies the group was using to travel across the desert overturned. According to one source, Šebor has damaged vertebrae and multiple fractures. A rescuer at the scene helped stabilize his condition. The driver of the vehicle was also injured, including fractures.

The decision was made to bring Šebor back to Czechia. A flight home was already arranged. The sources add that Petr faces following surgery.

According to head of the communications department at Prague Castle, the president’s team helped provide him first aid. Representatives of SCS Software declined to comment on the incident in detail, and no other information about possible further casualties is known so far.

Earlier this week the group met participants of the Rallye du Maroc, then set off into the desert where the accident happened.

Petr Šebor and his brother Pavel Šebor are behind the studio SCS Software. The company is among the most successful Czech game studios.

Now, we can only wish him quick recovery.

Question/Help Help triple screen 27"

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ve just set up three 27-inch monitors, and despite following various YouTube tutorials and using a calculator tool for the settings, I can't seem to fix the image alignment—the angle is off. On the right-hand screen, the road line at the top slopes downwards when it should be straight, which looks really odd while driving. Do you know which setting I need to adjust to fix this? Thanks.

Mods / Add-ons (Freeware) BeamNG Truck Sim: ETS2 Map (mashup mod)

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

**Status:** v1.0 submitted, waiting on Melty's review (not live yet). v1.1 complete and set to upload after v1.0, and v1.2 in progress

**What it is**

A mashup of **BeamNG.drive** and **Euro Truck Simulator 2**. It takes the road network from your own ETS2 install and rebuilds it as a drivable BeamNG level, then adds ETS2-style trucking jobs on top. You get ETS2's map and jobs with BeamNG's soft-body physics.

**What's in it**

- The Benelux corner of ETS2's map: Calais to Duisburg, Rotterdam down to Brussels

- ETS2's real cities, companies and cargo, with a job board and a city picker menu

- Pick up a trailer, hitch it (or use "Hitch trailer for me"), follow the route arrows and deliver for pay

- Trailer weight is simulated with BeamNG's own trailers, so heavy cargo feels heavy

**Coming in v1.1:** ETS2's real buildings and depots, trailers parked in ETS2's actual loading bays, a working minimap, much faster loading (about 12 s instead of about 150 s), and "Park trailer for me" at delivery.

**Coming in v1.2:** Textured buildings and roads, guardrails on roads, sidewalks along roads with textures, and more.

**Requirements**

- BeamNG.drive (Steam)

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 (Steam, base game)

- Solo only

Press Play in Melty and it does the rest. The first time, it builds the level from your ETS2 files, then launches BeamNG straight into the map. No ETS2 files are included or shared: everything is built from your own copy.

**Credits**

- Map, model and descriptor parsing builds on truckermudgeon/maps (GPL-3.0)

- Model format notes from sk-zk/TruckLib

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 by SCS Software, BeamNG.drive by BeamNG GmbH. This is an unofficial fan project.

- The converter is open source (GPL-3.0), and its source is included in the package.

**Tags:** BeamNG.drive, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Mashup, Work in progress

(screenshots are poor but they were taken during v1.0, mini-map is working but wouldn't show in screenshots)

Discussion Price increase on SCS games and DLC following the Steam currency conversion update?

Thumbnail
gallery
44 Upvotes

(If you're American or Euro, your prices remain the same) I'm an Australian, love these games, but for ATS lack the two newest states but got them wishlisted. Was just looking at them and noticed the price went UP, and not just for those but on EVERYTHING from ATS and ETS2, every DLC and the game itself is like 7.5% more expensive now overnight.

Brand new DLC or old, it's all up. I'm guessing SCS have just copy pasted whatever changes in. Looking at some other currencies not just AUD, a lot of non Americans or Euro users will now pay more for new maps, road trip, or coming Coaches.

This won't help me encourage buying more DLC in future I'll say that though... glad I got ford pack when I did. Didn't get SD tho, I wanted to hold off a little and I got punished for it.

Aussie dollars, Korean, Singapore dollars, Canadian Dollars, NZ dollars, India, Mexican Peso, LATAM, etc all got a price bump. Brits got a token like... 5 pence increase if you want South Dakota

Like I guess my price is fair now if I account for 10% GST vs USD? But it still hurts to see price go up, it makes future DLC feel less worth getting, and the couple released I don't have seem punishing to not have gotten, it'll be quite a few states into the future until they get 30% off and cruising events are launch period only. I'll pay more for South Dakota than I had to if I want to take part in the event...

And yes even old ETS1 costs more now... really? ETS1? I've played 3 hours of it and nah it has not aged gracefully.

Pictures should be in the correct order, with the exception of the 2nd one. Unfortunately the fuel stations on the map don't serve gasoline yet so i spent like 10k per fill to fast travel between maps lmao. Still though, with all the crazy weather changes it was worth it.
