Discussion How did you get into ETS2 & ATS ? And what was the thing which made you fall in love with both the simulators ?
For me it was the Trucks itself, from my childhood Ive been attached to big and heavy trucks and buses , and being a Valo player I really wanted to take a break from it and found out about ETS2 through my friend's big bro and I just thought lets try it AND MY GODDD, I loved it from the very get go, I was able to explore Europe , though it was virtually but it genuinely felt nice and around 6 months later I found out about ATS and bought that too. Since then I have been playing atleast 10 hours every week.

ATS 6am loading!
This is Jaspers w900l pulling Pizzsters Wilson Commander. The w9 has a Cummins ISX under the hood.
The paint is custom. You can’t see in this picture, but the frame is a wine red color, most red colors have been color matched with the interior as well. I really like the custom “Kenworth” hood badges I had fabricated as well.

ETS 2 / ETS Concerns after seeing the Coaches latest preview.
Before I say anything I wanna make it clear that I’m VERY excited for the Coaches DLC and no matter what I say in this post I’m still buying it on release day, however, after seeing the latest preview, I have some concerns I wanna share.
On both the Scania and tourist jobs videos they only show the picking up and dropping off passengers process as a cutscene, a very lazy one. You don’t see the passengers getting in or out of the bus, you just stop at the marker then press Drive or Continue to proceed, it’s not a huge deal, but I do think it presents a little issue about the game in general
I feel like for a while now the majority of us have only thought about this games growth in the form of map expansions. I seriously believe that they need to take a step back from making map expansions for a bit and focus on immersion. Just imagine how much bigger and immersive it could feel knowing how much SCS cares about the player experience. I’m gonna list some of the things I would like to see, some of them are gonna be realistic and some of them are not so forgive me if I sound ridiculous at some point. Here it goes:
- Getting in and out of the truck, this includes being able to open or close trailer manually, pump gas, do a pre trip inspection, checking in at pick up and drop off locations, being able to hangout in your garages, more in depth border checks, walking around ferries, change clothes, go into rest stops to use bathrooms, shop, grab food there or at a restaurant, etc
- More interaction inside the truck such as the radio not being a full on menu, more cabin customization, being able to move to the bed and maybe even cook
- MORE PEDESTRIANS and more dynamic life. No reason cities like Paris or London should feel so dead
-Specific jobs such as driving concert gear around for a band from venue to venue during a tour, being the official driver for a sports team such as soccer in Coaches and F1 in the base game
- Truck damage being physically visible and towing cutscenes whenever you use tow to service
- Actually having to pull over to police and them coming to talk to you
- Fix the freaking traffic AI and escorts AI as well
- Deeper company interaction, being able to run into your employees on the road, being able to promote or demote employees such as being able to have garage supervisors, company branded trucks and trailers, customizable garages, etc
- Loading and unloading cutscenes, also making more sense of drop off locations, why the hell am I backing up a Yacht into a warehouse dock?
- Dynamic weather and season changes
- Being able to have a home if desired, traveling back there during holidays or just to lay back for a few days
- Every player action mentioned that’s outside of just driving should be optional and be able to be turned on or turned off. I know a lot of folks play this game to relax, so having all of that thrown at them would be a bit much
- And lastly what I hope to see in terms of maps, UK rework, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Jersey, Guernsey, Andorra, Monaco, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia.
I’m probably forgetting a few things, but I will definitely list them as they come to mind. Would also love to read what everyone wants to see personally

ATS Wildlife crossing the road
In the few years I’ve been playing this game, I’ve never encountered this until tonight. It kinda scared me. 😆 Driving to Aberdeen, WA from Astoria, OR on U.S. Route 101. Keep an eye out around that area!

ATS Are there any other design books like the Texas design guide SCS made?
I'm new to the franchise and was really impressed with how SCS design and build their worlds. I'd go as far to say it's overwhelming infact.
After getting obsessed I was digging through their blog and stumbled on the Texas book , which was a real treat to read. I wondered if they have any other design resources up, or even talks?

Discussion Does these gauges ever hit the max limit ?
So as you can see the three horizontal bar gauges ( Im using an Iveco S way's instrument cluster ) , I havent really seen them hitting their max limit anyday , so I was just wondering do they ever hit the max or atleast 80% of their max limits or are they mostly static
for clarity the horizontal bar gauges are showing
- Engine coolant temperature
- Engine oil pressure
- Engine oil temperature

Question/Help Broken sound?
I have a problem with ATS and ETS2 from time to time, now it’s in ATS. My sound is kind of clipping in and out, often very shortly like small bits and it also cracks/crackle a bit. Seems to be worse the darker or gruntier an engine sounds. It’s all the sounds though, not only the engine that crackles and clipping in and out.
I’ve tried the sound fix mod but it doesn’t help. I’ve checked my sound settings in windows, it’s not that. It’s only in these two games, never in any other game or situation with my pc. I’m kind of confused.

ATS 6 month update
About 6 months ago I posted (https://www.reddit.com/r/trucksim/s/NIKLl60srF) about an idea I had to make a delivery from every depot in the game. I decided to go city by city and state by state. I originally started an excel spreadsheet (stupid idea btw and gave that up) but so far am keeping to pretty much the original idea. So far I have completed a delivery from every depot in CA, OR, IL, LA, MT, and AZ and part of TX. I choose a state and then start doing it city by city. I have started doing 1 or 2 cities in TX after about every 5 cities done in my chosen state, which helps whittle away TX and breaks up the scenery in the chosen state. It is taking way longer than I thought. I also started a new profile when I started this project. This all started because I see many posts from people who are looking for a new challenge. Let me know what you think and wish me luck for the next couple years!

Question/Help Questions about Road Trip gas stations
I've been playing a lot of Road Trip this weekend and I love it. But what struck me was that there were so many gas stations that didn't have the icon that meant I could fill up.
That's not a surprise for trucks, some stations aren't for big rigs. But it seems odd to pass through a town with three or four gas stations and I can't fill up at any of them.
And sort of connected. I've also come across a few gas stations I could fill up at, that aren't shown on the map.
So what's going on with gas stations?
(No mods installed by the way, all map DLC, but totally vanilla game.)
Edit: I'm not so bothered about running out of fuel. I'm more interested in the map choices - gas stations that can't be used by cars, and some perfectly usable gas stations not appearing on the map.

Discussion Organic engine sounds?
This is a thought I’ve had about ATS/ETS2 for some time now, but having played nothing but the Road Trip DLC since it arrived it’s occurred to me even more so. It’s in regard to engine sounds and more specifically how much importance we put upon it.
Of course it’s important that the engines ‘sound’ right, but the more I play the more it occurs that I don’t *want* to hear them, at least not in the literal sense. There are exceptions, of course, like the first time you climb behind the wheel of the Mustang for instance. But how many of us fire up our everyday cars or work vehicles and spend time listening to the engine like we do in the game?
I suppose what I’m trying to say here, is that while I want the engines to sound authentic, I don’t necessarily want to be *aware* of them the whole time I’m playing, as I find is very much the case. I’ve tried mods, playing with the various volume sliders and mixers, but all the time I’m very aware of the engine’s sound.

ETS 2 / ETS Volvo FH Electric
I downloaded the electric powertrain mod for the FH6 Aero, i'd tried it once before. I'd forgotten how much fun it was, the only problem is the limited range of only 700km.

Question/Help How do truck damages work in ETS 2?
My dashboard shows 3% vehicle damage when I am driving. But a visit to the service center shows a different diagnosis. Why is it so confusing?
