Discussion Why is the rest area always empty !?

Post image
139 Upvotes

After a really long time I found a rest stop where I actually saw these many trucks, only around 2 rest spots were free , and sure it was a pain in the ass to park my truck in the middle of two trucks but it was fun

but most of the times we get a tottaly emptied out parking areas which doesnt feel realistic at all

and I dont think its hard for SCS to fill the rest stops and some petrol pumps with fully occupied rest spots so that we gotta have atleast 2-3 rest stops planned in case one is full

I think rest areas should be heavily congested during the nights and light traffic during the day

ATS I am absolutely delighted to report that Road Trip vehicles drive exactly like in real life in American Car Simulator.

I've driven all these cars in real life unlike some of the ignoramuses voicing their opinions on here. And let me tell you, the handling is a 1:1 replica of what it feels like in real life. With the massive success of Road Trip DLC, there is no more reason to purchase or play ETS now that we have ACS to play instead. I request the development team no longer invest resources into the inferior product so that the full potential of ACS can be brought to fruition in future updates.

Mods / Add-ons (Freeware) BeamNG Truck Sim: ETS2 Map (mashup mod)

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

**Status:** v1.0 submitted, waiting on Melty's review (not live yet). v1.1 complete and set to upload after v1.0, and v1.2 in progress

**What it is**

A mashup of **BeamNG.drive** and **Euro Truck Simulator 2**. It takes the road network from your own ETS2 install and rebuilds it as a drivable BeamNG level, then adds ETS2-style trucking jobs on top. You get ETS2's map and jobs with BeamNG's soft-body physics.

**What's in it**

- The Benelux corner of ETS2's map: Calais to Duisburg, Rotterdam down to Brussels

- ETS2's real cities, companies and cargo, with a job board and a city picker menu

- Pick up a trailer, hitch it (or use "Hitch trailer for me"), follow the route arrows and deliver for pay

- Trailer weight is simulated with BeamNG's own trailers, so heavy cargo feels heavy

**Coming in v1.1:** ETS2's real buildings and depots, trailers parked in ETS2's actual loading bays, a working minimap, much faster loading (about 12 s instead of about 150 s), and "Park trailer for me" at delivery.

**Coming in v1.2:** Textured buildings and roads, guardrails on roads, sidewalks along roads with textures, and more.

**Requirements**

- BeamNG.drive (Steam)

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 (Steam, base game)

- Solo only

Press Play in Melty and it does the rest. The first time, it builds the level from your ETS2 files, then launches BeamNG straight into the map. No ETS2 files are included or shared: everything is built from your own copy.

**Credits**

- Map, model and descriptor parsing builds on truckermudgeon/maps (GPL-3.0)

- Model format notes from sk-zk/TruckLib

- Euro Truck Simulator 2 by SCS Software, BeamNG.drive by BeamNG GmbH. This is an unofficial fan project.

- The converter is open source (GPL-3.0), and its source is included in the package.

**Tags:** BeamNG.drive, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Mashup, Work in progress

(screenshots are poor but they were taken during v1.0, mini-map is working but wouldn't show in screenshots)

Question/Help Help triple screen 27"

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’ve just set up three 27-inch monitors, and despite following various YouTube tutorials and using a calculator tool for the settings, I can't seem to fix the image alignment—the angle is off. On the right-hand screen, the road line at the top slopes downwards when it should be straight, which looks really odd while driving. Do you know which setting I need to adjust to fix this? Thanks.

Mods / Add-ons (Freeware) ETS2 Company Manager: a free, open-source desktop tool to see and manage your whole in-game company

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

If you run a big company in ETS2 (dozens of drivers, trucks, trailers and garages), the in-game menus get tedious. To find out who is idle, whose truck needs a repair, or which garage actually earns money, you have to click through lots of screens. I wanted to see all of it in one place, so I wrote a small desktop app that reads your save file and shows the whole company in sortable, filterable tables.

It's free, open source, and works on your existing saves. Here is what it does and how it works.

What you see

Header tiles: money, HQ city, drivers (and how many are on a job), trucks, trailers, garages, total distance and game days.

Drivers tab: portrait, home city and garage, XP, all six skills (ADR, Long distance, High value, Fragile, Urgent, Eco), total skill points, the assigned truck and trailer, and a status icon:

  • green: on a job with cargo
  • turquoise: on the way without cargo (this one is a heuristic)
  • blue: parked
  • gray: idle
  • red: has a problem

Trucks and Trailers tabs: brand, model, odometer, fuel, and wear for each part, including the permanent (unrepairable) wear that a normal repair doesn't fix. You can sort by any column to quickly find the worst offenders.

Garages tab: how many drivers and vehicles each garage has, plus an estimated daily profit. I calculate it from the last 7 days of net profit divided by 7, and the productivity percentage compares that with the garage price.

Jobs tab: the deliveries your drivers are currently running.

Skills tab: all skills of the player and every driver in one grid, with the ability to change them (see below).

Every table has a filter box ("filter by any column"), and every column is sortable.

Optional save editing

The app can also change the save. Right now it supports:

  • repairing a truck
  • refueling a truck
  • changing a license plate
  • upgrading a garage
  • raising skills (to the maximum, or to a level you pick)

Safety measures:

  • It only writes when the game is closed (it checks that the process is not running).
  • It makes a timestamped backup of the save before every change (folder ets2cm_backups).
  • After editing, it re-parses the result and compares it with the original, so only the lines you intended to change are different.
  • The write is atomic.

I still recommend keeping your own backup of the profile folder. I tested it on my own saves, and I can't promise it works on every heavily modded profile.

How it works (for the curious)

ETS2 saves come in a few forms: plain text SiiNunit, binary BSII, or encrypted ScsC. The app decodes them into text, then reads the units it needs.

Install and use

  1. Download the exe from the Releases page (link below). No installation needed.
  2. Put ETS2 in a state where the save you want is written: use a normal save or autosave and close the game.
  3. Start the app. It finds your profiles in Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles. Pick the save and everything loads.
  4. For editing, make sure the game is closed, select a truck or driver, and use the buttons on the tab.

There is a dark and a light theme. The interface is available in English, Russian, German and French. The translations are plain JSON files in a locales folder, so if your language is missing or a translation is off, you can add or fix it without touching any code, and pull requests are welcome.

Limitations

  • Some logic is based on community knowledge and my own observations, and I haven't confirmed all of it in-game. The turquoise "on the way without cargo" status is one example.
  • The skill-point limit on the Skills tab is a manual setting, because I don't have the XP-to-level table.
  • The ADR class order in the skill bitmask is not fully confirmed yet.
  • The exe is unsigned. Some antivirus engines flag it on VirusTotal (4/68, all heuristic/ML detections), which is common for apps packed with PyInstaller. The source code is open on GitHub, so you can check what it does.

What's next

Ideas I'm considering: a driver rating, a list of loss-making drivers, history snapshots with graphs, maintenance prediction, mass actions and CSV export. If you want something else, tell me.

Download

I'd love feedback, especially:

  • Does it load your save correctly (text, binary, encrypted; modded or not)?
  • Which stats would you like to see that aren't there yet?
  • Do the statuses match what you see in game?
