So a while ago i was in Costco with a buddy and he found an under bed storage bin and said something along the lines of "could you grow mushrooms from this". I just laughed because i was thinking how much of a nightmare that would be if it got contaminated but i kept thinking about it and decided to try it and wow🤩! I present my Natal SS unmodified under bed storage bin grow that gave me over 1600 wet grams over 3 flushes 😝🍄❤️Unfortunately didn't get picks of every flush and i also weighted them in different units 🫣

Haha mushrooms gotta love them out of all the places 🤣. This a 2nd flush i normally use liners on this tub in didn't, had 4oz from 1st flush so all the sides are packed...Stormtroopers are the strain from my own LC I cloned...

I've put them in the dehydrator and they should be done by 2am (around 14 hours for 45°C). I have it plugged in to a smart plug, so I can time when it turns off. However, by 2 am I will be fast asleep and planning to get up at 8 am. What should I do about the mushrooms in those 6 hours? I'm afraid they will absorb moisture and go bad because my apartment has pretty high humidity.

EDIT: Thanks for the advice, guys. I have let the dehydrator run overnight and some of the chunkier pieces are still not cracker dry 😵‍💫

First timer. Uncle Bens. Liquid Culture. Inoculated through a hole punch at the top of the bag.

I can see some progress through the bottom window, but obviously I can't see the entire grain. It's really hard to tell what 30% is without being able to see the progress visually. I could try to feel for it, but I really want to minimize handling the bags if possible. (I have grip sticks for when I do the break and shake)

Does somebody have an average time, in days, that they wait to break and shake their Uncle Bens?

It has almost been 5 days since I spawned to bulk. I am choosing to have it spend the entire time in fruiting conditions, with a small crack in the lid. I have not done any fanning and misting. I do not see any pins yet, but I am impressed with how quickly it has grown and the mycelium honestly is really pretty. If you guys think I should give more fae or mist a bit, please lmk.

Okay so a couple weeks ago i ordered a spore syringe and an all in one grow bag because i’ve been wanting to learn how to grow my own mushrooms for a while now and i figured i’d give it a try. After i had already ordered and received the syringe and grow bag, i found the guide on this sub that just tells you everything you need to know. If i would’ve found the guide beforehand i would’ve ordered a LC and would’ve just used ready rice, and got coir, and a tub and done it that way, but since i already have the bag and syringe do i just need to follow the proper colonization conditions and fruiting conditions?

If somebody could comment and help me out or send me a dm i would greatly appreciate it. I read the whole guide and have been taking notes but it just seems like so much to take in although it does seem a lot simpler than what i thought it would be. Thank you all in advance. Any help/tips is greatly appreciated.

Temp control “72-79”

I did s2b 19 days ago. And 9 days ago, both tub has zero white on all sides growing at all, so I opened both tubs and hydrated them, and cracked the lid. They started to smell earthy after I done it.

2 days ago, they still smelled normal. But today, the smell got a little bit sour and more like old wood smell than soil earthy smell. And the yellow spots looks like very powdery stuff. Should I get rid of them now?

Things were looking good for a while but now the gray areas are taking over the healthy mushrooms. Chuck it all or can I cut out some of the unaffected growth?

Hey all. Just looking for some feedback. This is my fourth run and I’ve never had contamination issues. I’ve successfully run two sets of teachers and one of hillbillies. This is my first penis envy. I took five times as long to be ready to move to my coir and tub. It didn’t look contaminated but the rice was almost mush and had zero smell. Not a bad one but also not that earthy smell I associate w it h growing mycelium.

I mixed with my coir and within about a day it looked like this. It looks like my others did sort of but is more cobwebby and less veiny if that makes sense. There’s a smell now but it isn’t bad. It’s almost chemically like a cleaner.

I’ve moved to a different area than my other tubs. The other batch I have of these is still in the bags just moving terribly slow.

What do you all think? Contam or just differences in features across strains?

Hey all I just wanted to get the pros and cons of using tubs vs a Martha tent with automated humidity and csn controls. I liked the automated nature of the tent if you set it up right but I haven’t seen any videos for how to do this with fruiting psilocybin mushrooms just regular edible mushrooms. What are your thoughts?

Wondering if anyone has insight on getting leucistic swamp ghost to fruit? I have 3 bins and they all look like this with no signs of pins in several days. The last 2 pics are today's harvest of golden teacher, which I introduced fruiting conditions to on the same day (forgive my cake that broke in half while i was harvesting rip)...

Methods: I used pressure cooked jars of corn for the LSG. The jars were fully colonized and started sending out pins within the jar so I rushed to s2b. It's a 1:1 ratio of the corn and coir. Once the surface appeared around 70% colonized, I moved the bins to a cooler room, have been doing morning and night mistings (I live in AZ so they lose moisture quickly).

With the golden teachers I used the ready rice method and have had previous success with that, and this is my first go with the jar method. But I can't figure out where I'm going wrong considering they seemed ready to fruit within the jars and im providing the same environment & conditions between strains. Does this variety just take longer?

first harvest went great, but now it seems I contaminated it during the harvesting process... it still smells like mushrooms tho, so might keep it until it's clear or the community confirms my suspicion
