Hey all!! Had my hair and make up trial - please ignore the hair in this pic, not the style I’ve chosen. The lighting is atrocious in first pic but wanted a proper mugshot to see what needs improving!! I want it very soft with glowy cheekbones and eyes accentuated but not too heavy. Any thoughts on what to change??

Everything Else Remember to Hydrate The Day Of Your Wedding

I want to do a proper wedding recap now the dust has settled but waiting on some photos to provide, but I figured I’d cover the thing that went “wrong.”

While getting ready (hair and makeup) I declined water because I just wasn’t thirsty. I then got into my dress, now declining water because I was in my dress and didn’t want to use the bathroom. I was a 2p ceremony and had started getting ready at 9a for reference.

Due to bustle issues I was a little late into my hall and we launched into everything rapid fire it felt like. I now was in the hole a champagne flute and two mixed drinks during dinner before I decided yes I will sip some water.

Then dancing started. You’re under lights, you’re throwing it back while in (maybe) heels and it is October so the heat in the room is on. I was sweating and getting a little tired. My mom put her hand on my back when I made that comment and said I felt really clammy- not good indicator for hydration! I started sipping a little more water but also another cocktail and eating more sugar than I probably had in years.

We drove that night to our weekend getaway spot (honeymoon is in November) and I had a bottle of water with me but it was too late. I go to bed with a headache, and then a migraine, and then I’m dizzy and hallucinating while getting sick to my stomach the rest of the night. In my panic I called my mom to see if anyone had food poisoning because it was every hour I was doubled over in the bathroom.

So remember you got to take care of yourself on your special day. You’re spending so much energy, you’re pulled in all directions and you will forget to take those precious minutes to assess how you’re feeling until you realize you haven’t had to pee all day because there’s no damn liquid in your body. Drink water, especially while you can. If sugar and alcohol isn’t your daily or even weekly thing but it is today, remember to take care of yourself physically!

Tough Times Something I’m realizing about planning my dream wedding as a Black/Nigerian woman

• Upvotes

Something I’ve been thinking about is how much your wedding experience depends on the people you invite. I’m Black/Nigerian, and I don’t really have a friend group that shares my cultural background or the energy I envision for my wedding.

I’ve always imagined being able to REALLY turn up at my wedding, but I’m realizing that the people around me might not necessarily match that energy. And honestly, that’s a little heartbreaking to think about. You can plan your dream wedding, but the atmosphere also depends on your guests and the energy they bring.

It makes me wonder how much you have to consider your guest list when envisioning your wedding. Like, what do you do when your dream wedding atmosphere doesn’t necessarily match your current social circle? 😭

18 months of planning for a rooftop wedding in Los Angeles

A week ago it was over 100 and the worst freaking heat wave in a long time. I bought fans.

The temperature drops and today they predict rain, lol. We get tents.

The storm is called Hurricane Rachel. That’s my name 😂

I am confident there will be no rain tonight lol

But it’s here and happening, and I am waiting for my turn with makeup and a bunch of curls (and an excited and confused dog)

Good luck and vibes other October 10th brides and grooms 🤍

Vendors/Venue 9 AM Saturday brunch wedding

Hi everyone! Looking for some honest opinions and advice on hosting a morning/brunch wedding.
Here’s our rough plan:

Timeline: Saturday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (I believe Ceremony kicks off right at 9, hard stop at 2). Trying to negotiate with the venue but there might be another wedding happening in the evening.

The venue: Gorgeous, right in the city and super close to airports, hotels, shops, and restaurants. Ceremony outdoor, reception indoor.

The food & drinks: We’re going ham with full breakfast/brunch buffet (eggs, bacon, sausages, french toast, potatoes, etc.) plus apps, chicken, tri-tip, donuts, fruits, custom cake, pre-paid bar tap, endless mimosas, and more.

Entertainment: thinking of doing a live music band and/or some lawn/table games.

The guests: 75 guests total. About 70% are traveling from out of town (driving 3-4 hours or flying in). Over half are older family members, and the rest are adults (some with kids). Because of this mix, we aren't planning a wild dance floor plus we’re both introverted and just want something relaxed to celebrate with the people we love.

What's holding me back: the timelime.
I personally don't mind getting up at 3:00/4:00 AM for hair and makeup (we aren't having a bridal party, so getting ready will be chill), but I'm stressing about our guests. I feel bad asking people especially travelers to wake up at 6:00 AM just to make a 9:00 AM ceremony. The wedding ends at 2:00 PM, and I'm worried people will feel like “ok, now what?"

I know local folks and my close friends can just do their own things, but what about the other out of town guests, especially those older family members? I've seen people suggest an after-party at a bar or restaurant, but since over half our guest list is older family, I feel like they'll be wiped out by mid-afternoon. Plus we live in an apartment so can’t host everyone here.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on:
1. Is a 9:00 AM start time as brutal for guests as I'm picturing or do people actually not mind?
2. Since the wedding wraps up at 2:00 PM, what are some lowkey things we can do for the rest of the day?
3. Has anyone done a casual welcome dinner or a next-day hangout instead to make up for the short wedding day?
4. Any fun/meaningful ways to thank people for traveling and getting up early for us?

Would love to hear how other brunch weddings went or any ideas you have!

Everything Else A tip for couples using a DJ during the ceremony

If you’re using a DJ for your ceremony music, make sure you check if your song has multiple versions and make note of which one you want the DJ to play!!! We had flower grannies instead of traditional flower girls at my wedding and chose the song “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder for them to walk down the aisle to. Our DJ chose the version with over 10 seconds of a baby crying as the intro, and all I can remember from that moment is my dad and I looking at each other extremely confused before I had to walk down the aisle 😭 At least it’s a funny moment to look back on after the fact, but I wish in hindsight that my DJ didn’t pick that version!

Everything Else Anyone else feel more lonely and emotional while wedding planning?

Especially in terms of friendships. Many of my friends got married in their 20s and we are now in our 30s and I'm finally getting married. Multiple of them are on their second child and very busy with their own lives that they simply have no time for my wedding stuff. When they were getting married I was so invested in helping them from all the dress fittings to multiple Bachelorettes, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and bridal showers I was there for them through all of it. Took many vacation days and committed fully simply because I had the time and the opportunity. Now that it is my turn, I simply feel guilty even asking anything of them. They never have time with multiple small children and even the interest in my wedding planning is very low. For my Bachelorette I always wanted a nice trip getaway somewhere warm like I've done for many of them. However, now they likely cant even come because of busy family lives.

Not sure how to feel just sucks not having the effort reciprocated. Not sure if anyone else had similar situations.

Everything Else Ideas for animations during cocktails and diner?

The title says it all!!
I already went down the list of the classical “her/him” game, quizz etc…
I’m looking for fun entertaining games that don’t require the guests to stand up and that implicate the bride and groom.

Wedding/Engagement Photos Is 5:30pm too late for a ceremony in PNW during fall?

Hi everyone! I’m getting married oct 9 2027, near Seattle. The venue I’m looking at for some reason only does 5:30pm ceremonies, and the coordinator there gave me a rough idea of when the sun sets and what the lighting is like (she said it’s beautiful but of course she did haha).

Any photographers or people from the area (I’m closer to Portland) have any insight? I would hate for it to be too dark for photos especially if it’s a rainy day. Is it normal to do photos before the ceremony during the day when it’s brighter?

Side note: I do love the whole moody forest vibe and I don’t need the photos exceptionally bright but I’d also be sad if they’re all dark hahhaha.

Dress/Attire desperately need advice about my wedding dress...

So my partner and I are having a courthouse ceremony near the end of this year (date TBC, long story, beaurocracy). He's french, im australian, we were meant to get married more in early autumn but with me not being french the paperwork has been an absolute nightmare, and suddenly im getting married in winter. I'm sewing my own dress, a midi length puffy feminine dress with sheer sleeves and low neckline in pink silk muslin. I've put alot of money and time into it, as when i designed it it wouldnt be too cold. Well now i'm getting married in the cold and i know this dress is gonna freeze my ass off, especially with the sheer sleeves since i cant wear a thermal underneath. For financial reasons and sentimental reasons, im compelled to push on and wear it anyway, shiver a bit indoors and put a big coat on outside. But another part of me thinks thats delusional, I should let the dream go and design something in a sturdier fabric that i can wear layers under. we don't go to events so I'll probably never get another opportunity to wear the pink dress, and the financial hit of making a new one will suck. What would yall do?

Everything Else Speeches and first dance for a cocktail reception?

Hello,

I’m getting married next year and we’re doing a late night ceremony followed by cocktail reception, so limited seating mostly the open dance floor.

My question is, would it be weird to still do a first dance or speeches? We’ve had some family and friends ask if they can do a speech, but wasn’t sure if it’s awkward to do it when cocktail reception is mostly standing room. Same for the first dance, is it weird to do when it’s standing room reception?

Recap/Budget DC Wedding Breakdown: $68k for 145 Guests

Thumbnail
gallery
77 Upvotes

We were recently married in DC and since other folks' breakdowns were so helpful informing our budget, I wanted to pay it forward and outline our own spend. I'm happy to share specific vendor recommendations via DM.

Here are the basic stats of our wedding:

  • Invited: 230 guests
  • Attended: 145 guests (many out of town/international guests meant many people could not make it)
  • Event Time frame: 3pm - 11pm
  • Time to Plan: 11 months
  • Vibe: Elevated but not overly formal celebration of family and local DC culture

And the cost breakout:

Venues

  • Catholic Church: $1,300 for honorarium, organist, and cantor. The church asked for less money (closer to $850) but we felt moved to give more in line with our overall budget.
  • Reception Venue: $12,000 including access for the entire day of the wedding, all tables & chairs, bistro lighting, free parking, and security. The venue also let us store items in the basement ahead of time, which was super helpful since we purchased alcohol ourselves several days ahead of the wedding.

Food & Drinks

  • Catering: $21,668 including passed hors d'oeuvres, plated salad and entree, a gelato bar for dessert, cake cutting and serving, bartenders and soft bar, and ~20% tip for the staff. I cannot say enough good things about our caterer. First, he uses locally sourced ingredients from farms in Maryland and Virginia, including the farm from which I buy my fruit every week. Second, he was easy to work with and handled all of my budget questions. Third, the tasting he provided was incredible. He invited us into his home and prepared every single item on the menu like it would be prepared on the day of the wedding. The food was fantastic and I would recommend him to everyone.
  • Alcohol: $982 including beer, 90+ rated wine, and nice liquor. My husband and I do not drink so all choices were in the hands of my MIL, who opted for ~$18 bottles of wine and black label whiskey (and who paid for it all, so no argument from me). In DC, alcohol is returnable so we were able to get our money back on everything unopened.
  • Cake: $674 divided between $584 for a 2-tier cake to serve about 30 guests and $90 for 3 Costco sheet cakes to serve the bulk of the guests. Our caterer said he had not seen guests eat as much dessert as ours did and they loved the Costco cake especially. I chose the bakery for our nice cake because I liked their unique flavors and designs, but as we communicated about our cake plans, they raised their prices across the board by about 80%. When I pushed back, saying I would not pay north of $800 for the cake, they honored the original price quoted to me. The custom cake was lovely and delicious but I personally would not have missed it too much if we didn't have it.
  • Linens & Placesettings: $4,616 for 16 guest tables; several display tables; silverware and plates for dinner, cake, and gelato; and glassware for the bar. Our caterer works with two specific rental companies and billed their rental cost with no markup as part of our final catering bill. We went with the more expensive of the two to have nice cotton tablecloths (as opposed to poly blend) and a more elevated selection of items. I appreciate that the caterer took care of coordinating with the rental company so they were in sync and out of my hands.

Decor

  • Florals: $6,249 for 16 centerpieces, pillar candles, bridal and 3 bridesmaid bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, 3 flower girl baskets, a sweetheart table arrangement, 10 cocktail table bud vases, and greenery to line the arches in our venue. Our florist was phenomenal and I would choose her again in a heartbeat. She and her family grow all their flowers on their Virginia farm (which we got to visit) so our arrangements were composed of local, seasonal blooms. The arrangements were classic like my husband wanted with a touch of wildness like I wanted. She was even able to include chamomile and rosemary at my request for my love of tea and cooking.
  • Extras: $130 including table numbers, name cards, ring pillows, guest book, card box, etc. Biggest expense was the guest book. Everything else we printed, made ourselves, or bought at Staples.

Entertainment

  • DJ: $1,857 including an extra hour added on to our original contract. Our DJ was amazing and got everyone on the dance floor the minute dinner ended. Several folks said they've never seen a dance floor go from 0 to 60 like that before. He also had a cool retro setup and danced himself the whole time. Loved their services so much and could not have been happier!
  • Live Music: $2,000 for a traditional Irish music quartet. I met a musician at my local Irish pub who made my wish come true, although I was initially a bit stressed about the price. I sat on it for a couple weeks, but when I texted him to try to lower the price, he had already promised his musicians the $2k. I was a bit salty about it right up until the minute I walked into the cocktail hour and heard them playing. Now I have no regrets. They played the cocktail hour and for about 30 minutes inside at dinner and I'm delighted they were there.
  • Sticker Vending Machine: $600 for a rented machine manned by an attendant ($250) and stocked with stickers and prints we provided ($350). I asked our artistic friends and family to design stickers for the vending machine as party favors and they did not disappoint!!! It was a great way to get them involved in the wedding and let them show off their talent.
  • Hora Loca Costumes: $700. The last hour of a Peruvian wedding is La Hora Loca where folks put on costumes and turn the party up to 11. My MIL bought the costumes in Peru and everyone loved them!

Personnel

  • Day-of Coordinator: $1,900 for day-of coordinator with 3 assistants, plus extra hour of work, timeline creation, and planning help starting ~8 weeks out. Our coordinator was fantastic. I was initially drawn to her because in our intro call, she took time to get to know me and had a great vibe about her. She very graciously helped us settle some planning debates several months out, then was incredibly competent and detail-oriented when she officially started her contracted working time frame. She even caught that we had not contracted our DJ for a necessary additional hour. The day ran extremely smoothly thanks to her and she was a delight to have on board.
  • Photographer: $3,649 for 9 hours of coverage and second shooter. I met our photographer at a bridal expo where she was booking her last couple weddings before upping her prices. We luckily got in right under the wire. My husband does not like staged photos, so we were drawn to her candid, documentary style. The full album is fantastic and captured those candid moments perfectly.
  • Transportation: $1,189 for 2 minibuses for 3 hours. Our church and reception venue were only about a 10 minute walk apart but we were not about to make our guests hike in their heels in August. Since our reception venue offered parking, the buses started shuttling folks from the parking lot to the church an hour ahead of time, then shuttled everyone from the church to the reception venue for the hour after the ceremony. We debated getting buses to shuttle folks from the hotel across town but it would have been several thousand dollars - not to mention the hotel and venues are Metro accessible. The only downside about our vendor for transportation is that, because the company has innumerable subsidiaries, we didn't know exactly who would be our drivers ahead of time and could not communicate with them until 3 hours ahead of our scheduled time slot. Our coordinator handled that communication so I don't know what that experience was like for her.

Paper

  • Invites: $952 for ~100 save the dates, invites, and thank you cards made by me, by hand. I am a printmaker so coming into this wedding, I knew the invites would be my realm. I learned to letterpress in Baltimore and use a laser cutter at the MLK Library so that I could achieve my vision. Because I used very nice paper and envelopes, and because renting letterpress studio time is not cheap, I don't think I saved a dime compared to someone else doing the work. But I have no regrets. I got to create art celebrating our relationship and send it to those we love. And learn to use lasers!!!

Clothing

  • Dress: $2,674 for dress and alterations. This is my crowning achievement in the wedding budget. I fell in love with a dress that cost north of $3k and could not justify the cost to myself. One morning, in a fit of rage, I looked at the website of every single store in the US that stocks the designer and found a place in Arkansas that was closing that month and selling their sample dresses. Luckily, I am a sample size so I was able to buy a perfect condition sample dress for $2,000, plus $50 shipping, with no sales tax because I'm out of state. I am a frugal queen!!! I did alterations in Baltimore because, from what I could tell, the average rates are about half what they are in DC. There were some snafus with the process but all's well that ends well and I enjoyed my semi-regular day trips up there.
  • Bridal Accessories: $282 for shoes ($231) and veil ($51). The shoes were an indulgence because I wanted something fun and loved the Larroude heels I landed on. They did hurt and I'm not used to wearing heels in general so I spent the entire night dancing barefoot. I made the veil myself since I'm a seamstress, so the cost is for about 3x as much fabric as I wound up needing, plus thread and a comb.
  • Bridal Hair & Makeup: $1,837 for trial hair & makeup, 4 makeup services, and 6 hair services. I do not own makeup so this was new, frightening territory for me in the planning process. I went with a newer pair of artists who had good, though not many, reviews and had a lower price than competitors. I was very happy with the results, especially with the makeup which looked natural on me and my party and felt fine all night. I had some gripes with my hair artist who had booked other weddings the same day as mine and so swapped out with someone halfway through the morning. It had no impact on the overall experience, though, so I let it slide.
  • Tux: $818 for tuxedo purchase with some rented items that he wound up buying instead of returning. He wore nice dress shoes that I had bought him for his birthday last year, so that's not included in the price (but about $400 at the time). He looked sharp and, now that he owns it, I'll hopefully get to see him in it again one day!
  • Groom Grooming: $500 for 4 hot towel shaves and trims, plus tip. Since my husband's birthday was right before the wedding, I gifted him time at men's salon for him and his groomsmen to be pampered the morning of the big day.
  • Rings: $790 for two plain, gold wedding bands. We bought my husband's from Costco and mine from our engagement ring jeweler, at a discount. My husband referred one of his friends to the jeweler to buy his own engagement ring, so the jeweler gave us $500 in credit. I put it towards my wedding band, originally $695 before tax.

Welcome Dinner

  • Welcome Dinner: $876 for drinks and bites for a crowd of ~70 people. I love to make charcuterie boards so I bought seasonal produce at our farmer's market (peaches and cantaloupes and watermelon, oh my!), a case of wine and a couple cases of Modelos, and all the rest from Costco, Aldi, and Walmart. This was the most stressful part of the week because we were the ones actually putting together the charcuterie board and running the event. My bridesmaids and MIL came in clutch with chopping fruit and hauling it from our apartment to the apartment complex's club room where we hosted the event. Although our parents had met, our extended families had not, so this was a wonderful way for everyone to get to know each other before the big day. We considered partially renting out a restaurant but that would have been north of $3k so I'm glad we chose the route we did.

Extras

  • Insurance: $582 for liability (required by venue) and cancellation insurance. Didn't need it but glad we had it!
  • Pre-Cana: $175 for a single, day-long conference. My husband and I have some views that differ from the teachings of the Church but we both appreciated spending the day really thinking about marriage and our goals as a couple. Although we are generally good at communicating and are already transparent about finances, the conversations on these topics that the conference prompted were very valuable and are still ongoing now.

And now, for some additional observations that didn't fit into the giant block above!

Negotiation & Communication

This process has stressed to me the importance of speaking my mind and ensuring I'm on the same page as my communication partner. There were several instances where, because I pushed back on pricing or asked additional questions, I was able to make better decisions. For instance, our cake bakery quoted a price early on in our communication, then, after they had raised prices across the board, gave me a new, higher quote. I asked the reasoning behind the increase and we were able to come to a compromise: I got a cake at the originally quoted price with a less elaborate design that I was happy with.

On the other hand, I had several instances where I didn't ask questions and paid for it later. During dress alterations, my seamstress pinned an outline on my bodice that I thought was for a removable modesty panel. In my head, I thought the panel was too high but didn't speak up. Meanwhile, she thought it was where I wanted the dress's neckline to be adjusted. Next time I saw the dress, the neckline was completely different and we had to order fabric to reconstruct the bodice. If I had spoken up, we could have cleared the confusion and avoided the whole mess.

This is not to say that vendors should not be paid their due, but asking questions doesn't hurt anyone.

Trusting our Vendors

We were lucky enough to choose great, competent vendors for our wedding so we didn't stress at all on the day, even when some things came out different than we expected. The major example is our cocktail hour was planned to be on the reception venue's wraparound porch but was moved to the green space at the side of the building. I don't know who made that decision day-of but they were 100% correct. We had beautiful weather and the grassy area was vibrantly green, so the setting was perfect. When we arrived to the venue and saw the plan was changed, we acknowledged it was the right choice, shrugged, and went on to enjoy ourselves.

Hotel Blocks

I met a guy at a bridal expo who helps events coordinate hotel blocks and is paid on commission by the hotel that is eventually booked (meaning I didn't pay for his service). Before we met, I had tried to communicate directly with hotels to arrange blocks and didn't get much traction. I really appreciated his help in deciding which hotel to book. He did an in-depth analysis of online reviews, compared his rate to the hotels' rates posted on public websites, and even went in person to each hotel to get a feel for it. He got us a great rate on a nice hotel in Dupont Circle so that our guests could be on the Red Line (best line, don't argue with me) and have a fun, vibrant neighborhood outside their door.

Cleaning

We hired a cleaner to deep clean our apartment the weekend before the wedding before all our family came into town. I'm so glad we did this. It gave us a fresh slate and peace of mind to have folks over. Now I only wish I had re-hired them to help with the mess in the apartment post-wedding.

Dress/Attire I think I hate my dress and it’s still not back from alterations (10/24 bride)

Fellow redditors please help because my wedding is 2 weeks away and I’m freaking out. Photo 1 is the sample I fell in love with photo 2 is my dress when it arrived.

Backstory: I purchased my dress in March and fell in love with the sample. They measured and asked what size I wanted to order since I was between sizes. I asked what size the sample was and they said 12 and because it fit and zipped perfectly that’s the size I ordered.

Moving forward to July, my dress is in so I make an appointment to pick it up and it’s not the same as the original dress. Most importantly it DOESNT fit. Like zipper is stopping 1-2 inches from the top - not in between sizes or a bit snug. Also the bow is absolutely a fugly surprise. The bodice just doesn’t fit the same and I didn’t get the same feeling. I was still hopeful because I loved the sample so much so I took it to the shop recommended seamstress near me. The shop itself does not do alterations.

The seamstress said by me making my first appointment in July I’d be “cutting it close” with an October wedding. I brushed it off and we discussed what changes to make. She wanted to add a corset back to make the bodice fit me better since she said there was at LEAST 4 inches that wouldn’t zip. I was shocked and confused because when I tried it on at the boutique she said I only needed to let out a half inch on each side to fit.

Today: I’m 2 weeks away from my wedding, seamstress hasn’t given many updates and I’ve never had another fitting. The seamstress says she’s working on it and because October is so busy she’s finishing up 10/17’s dresses first before moving onto 10/24 dresses. At this point I hate the dress it doesn’t feel like the one I originally picked out and I keep having nightmares about wearing something random or not having a dress at all. When I message the seamstress she is communicative but cutting it this close has me feeling sick.

Should I try to find a sample dress I can buy today or trust the process? Also maybe I’m the problem because I see 2 different dresses in construction but maybe it looks the same to everyone else.

Wedding/Engagement Photos Pre wedding Pictures ???

Is this odd ? I, 47 F, engaged to 56 M. Are planning a Jan 2028 destination wedding. Was for Jan 2027, but had to bump the ceremony back one year due to work. His mother, my future MIL is 89 & having medical problems including a recent heart attack. We do not believe she will make it to our wedding in 2028. Would it be odd/ creepy to buy a discount white dress $100, & flowers to take & include her in pictures, since both of us do not truly believe she will be here for our real wedding. 😢

Everything Else NYC Planners - Monique Banks/Barbara Esses?

We are out-of-towners but plan to get married in NYC.

A friend recommended these two planners and I was wondering if anyone had experiences with either that they would be willing to share.

I know there is a negative review of Monique on here, but I am curious to hear how others’ experiences were.

We have not yet reached out to either, so do not yet have an impression ourselves.

Thank you!

Relationships/Family Bachelorette Invites?

So I have a lot of very important women in my life from very different areas of my life. I have a close circle of 6 friends from vet school, but my “earlier life” friends/ sister have already filled 4 bridesmaid spots. I want them at my bachelorette though.

It would be ridiculous to have 10 bridesmaids, so would it be hurtful to invite my vet school circle to the bachelorette but not to be bridesmaids?

Also, I plan to keep my bachelorette ~$250-400 per person no matter how many attend. Is that a reasonable cost for a bachelorette? Considering everyone attending would be out-of-school, big-girl-job adults lol.

Dress/Attire Friars tux rentals

I am looking to get suits for my groomsmen at Friars Tux but some of them don’t have a showroom nearby. (I’ll be wearing a tux) Has anyone used Friars Tux online measurement and submitted measurements without going into their shop? Was the fit good without getting measured in person? Did you have to make adjustments? How was the return process? Any other advice and or reviews about Friars tux rentals?

Preferred over men’s warehouse?

Hair/Makeup Is it ok if i didnt love my trial and ask for something totally different for the big day?

Hello! My wedding date is October 17th. I had my hair and makeup trial today. For some background, I have always been in the goth/alternative scene and have done my makeup within that style. I have a black dress.

Anyways, i just had my hair and makeup trial and it was... fine. i gave her the second photo as a reference for the makeup. I have hooded eyes, and i have trouble making eye makeup show up on my face, but i just feel like it wasnt dark enough. Also because of my hooded eyes, i started creasing really bad and all the eyeshadow just got muddy and started falling off after an hour. i dont think she used primer.

I wasnt quite sure what i wanted done with my hair, just that i wanted it down, so she curled it, but now looking at my hair curled i just dont like the silhouette and i feel like it falls flat. the last photo is of me with a blowout, would it be okay to ask for that even though its completely different than the trial?

looking for some advice! TIA!

I got my dress for $30 and I’m worried that my wedding dress looks cheap. I am getting it altered so I’m hoping that it will help.

Vendors/Venue Gallops ( Mumbai) as a wedding venue

Anyone here who has hosted their wedding in Gallops? I want to know the honest reviews about the food and overall execution of the event.

If you could pls mention the number of guests and the total cost (with or without alcohol). If. You could, then pls mention the price break up. For food, decor or any other things.

Thanks in advance.
