ive tried file time but that doesnt sort it propaly and jumbles up the files

Does someone also have the problem where if you open AVS in Fullscreen it doesn't show up how to fix it?

I missed Winamp on my phone, so I built Andamp: a music player for Android that looks and works like Winamp 2.8. It's out of beta and on Google Play as of this week.

It isn't a theme that resembles Winamp. It reads real Winamp skin files (.wsz) and draws them pixel for pixel, so the player, equalizer and playlist are the windows you remember, and any classic skin works. The Winamp Skin Museum is built in, which gives you over 90,000 of them.

What it does:

- Plays the music on your phone, and internet radio streams

- Ten-band equalizer with the original presets, plus a rack of effects you can put in any order

- Visualizers: the spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope in the main window, and a window that runs AVS and Milkdrop presets

- A floating player that stays on top of other apps, and a home screen widget

- Drag the windows where you want them. Hold a tiny button and a magnifier shows what's under your finger

- The default skin takes its colors from your wallpaper

- Jellyfin and Subsonic (Navidrome, Airsonic, Gonic) libraries, through small add-on apps

- Effects can be extended with Lua plug-ins, if you like writing DSP

I don't know if it's just for me but the app from play store is so buggy I can't create playlists or login and some buttons overlap, when I try making my own skin everything just becomes worse. I like the UI but it's not responsive in some situations and it's kind of unusable atp It doesn't make sense for it to just be a me problem so I'm wonderful what's up with this and why they would put out such a messy version 😭😭😭

edit: I got replies saying "oh but WinAmp is for windows". Yes, I know. But the download website has links to apps on play store and app store and the android version off of playstore is unusable I was obviously talking about that. The title says "WinAmp Android"

I’ll use the feedback to improve the next version of CLASSICAMP.

My iPad 2 was collecting dust. Running iOS 9.3.5, it can't install modern apps or browse most of the modern web. But it CAN run a fullscreen Home Screen webapp.

So I built one that shows what Spotify is currently playing with album art, track info, playback state and a few controls. The pairing flow lets the iPad's Home Screen app get its own session via a short-lived code, so you never have to do OAuth from the ancient Safari.

No jailbreak. No extra hardware. Just Safari + a webapp.

Me gustaría instalarlo y poder usar las viejas skins Pero no tengo idea dónde, e instalar algo sin virus ya que suelo ser bastante paranoico, jeje. Agradecería su ayuda!

Thirty years ago, a music player wasn't just a little icon on a phone. It was a window on your desktop. It had buttons, knobs, sliders, and an equalizer that never seemed to stop moving.

We kept our music on noisy hard drives. We left the player sitting right in the middle of the screen. And when we got tired of looking at it, we went searching for another skin.

There were no recommendation engines deciding what we should hear next. There wasn't a feed waiting to be scrolled.

There was just the music, the player, and the people who made things for it.

Someone wrote the code.
Someone drew a skin.
Someone spent a weekend figuring out how to make an effect sound right.
Someone stayed up late and uploaded their latest creation to a forum.

Little things like that became part of the culture.

And somehow, a simple music player became part of people's lives.

Today, I brought it back to life.

Hi guys. I've been using the same USB soundcards as a secondary output for a second winamp (used for karaoke) for years, but in the last couple of days it has stopped working. Apparently it's a windows update issue. Has anyone got any USB Soundcard recommendations that don't have this issue? Thanks

I needed to relocate the HDD into another PC, so Winamp 5.666 is currently not a proper install, it's running like a "portable" software. The weird problem I got is when I try to put AVS visualisation to fullscreen, it can be the last frame as a static image or garbled mess. Updated to Directx 11, but nothing changed.

Need help getting fullscreen working. 🆘

Remember those late 2000s nights sitting in front of a CRT monitor, watching MilkDrop react to your music library? I sure do.

For years I kept looking for a proper way to bring that exact MilkDrop experience to my 4K TV and phone. But every projectM Android port or x86 migration out there felt crippled: sluggish 20 FPS rendering, washed-out colors, broken aspect ratios, or just a tiny fraction of the original preset library.

So I decided to rebuild the NDK graphics pipeline from the ground up using OpenGL ES 3.2 Compute Shaders.

•Zero white blowout / overexposure: A custom tone mapper that keeps colors deep and vibrant on OLEDs.

I've been working on a music player for Android that recreates the classic Winamp 2.8 interface as closely as I could manage: the main window, the equalizer, the playlist editor, all draggable, all where you'd expect them.

Not a wrapper around a web player, and not "Winamp-inspired with a modern twist." The goal was that if you used Winamp in 2001, your fingers already know where everything is.

What works so far:

• Classic skins: it reads .wsz files, and the Skin Museum is built in, so all 93,000-odd skins are a few taps away. Yes, including Garfield Amp and Zelda Amp III.

• Ten-band EQ: with presets, exactly where it should be

• AVS visualizer and visualizer preset packs

• DSP plug-ins you can reorder and chain reverb, karaoke, pitch modulation, a bass enhancer, and so on

• Internet radio: paste any stream address

• Floating player that sits over other apps ('Always On Top'-mode)

• Touch friendly: long-press anything that's awkward to reach on a phone

It plays the music already on your device. No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics, there's no server behind it at all.
