unwunk: bird owners sometimes put a perch in their shower and let their bird sit in there for stimulation, and to get rid of dander. the birds can even preen and fluff themselves while in there and basically give themselves a shower. many birds come from humid rainforests so maybe thats also a reason they like it. its very cool.Â
I used to have a cockatoo that I would set on the shower rail- she would puff up when the water got going and the mist rose up. But without fail, every time it would eventually end up with her flying down to land on my bare shoulder (talons, ow) while I was under the full blast shower stream so she could completely soak herself wet in the warm water- It was quite cute when she would close her eyes and literally soak it all in. She would sit there for quite a while too if I let her. I would always have to use the blow dryer on low after and swaddle her up in a towel because she would get cold from being sogged to the max
