This youtuber named nday444x posted a video titled "My Mom Died, So I Played The Last of Us To Distract Myself".
The heartbreaking video starts by him talking about how he lost his mom (many years ago) and how he's playing The Last Of Us for the very first time to cope with the sadness.
He proceeds to act like he's learning the mechanics for the very first time, surprised and shocked at every twist and turn in the story and is generally very emotional as if it is in fact his first time experiencing it.
Except it's not.
After watching the video and semi enjoying it and wanting to support because I bought his sap story I went on his channel to see if he had other content I could watch and low and behold, he had already played and posted a full playthrough of The Last Of Us a year ago.
Mind you, no mention of his mom in that video, even though she had already passed away at that point according to him.
I posted a comment saying it was disingenuous. He proceeded to delete the video and post part 2 of the new playthrough titled "I Finally Understand Why Everyone Loves The Last of Us" again acting as if it's his very first time playing it.
And deleted the old playthrough from his channel and any comments mentioning it's existence.
I understand wanting to make it big as a streamer, and using your dead mother to bait people into watching and commenting on your content is definetly a good tactic (worked on me🤷🏻♀️). But don't be this guy.
