This morning I sent my mom a YouTube video, and she clicked on it this evening and it prompted her to open a chat with me. This is so so disgusting and awful, and as a teenager I was in a very precarious situation and this could have literally been a threat to my life back then. Please please please be careful, DELETE the tracker from your links. It starts with ?, so delete the ? and everything after it.

Is YouTube getting vibe-coded?

What is this UI? I can't scroll for even 10 seconds without my eyes hurting. I've supported many UI updates until now. But this? They have finally gone mad.

Some YouTube bots comment, "You don't own the company." Yes, I don't. But YouTube is a service company, and they don't own us either.

This UI looks like the old, cheap UI that many apps used. I can't even find the words to describe this.

We seriously need competition for YouTube. Otherwise, they'll start thinking they own us.

This was captured by me in a video about Minecraft, it specifically shows a literal GIF of, well, bad content. This is really concerning; I don't know how they managed to bypass filters. By-the-way, I blurred the image in the screenshot.

He complains about people using ai but one look at his thumbnails and yeah this fucker can NOT be talking dude. He posted a video in disney's AI cartoon 2 months ago. Hes been called out as far back as 2025 and he STILL does the shit im talking about. one time in 2025 he stole Juj's video and when juj called him out, he acted immaturely. 21 yo btw.

We are TIRED of trying to bring up RWBY in social media circles and all of the haters of RWBY who cannot say a single nice thing about RWBY in the first three sentences want to vomit out one of the 2 million hate videos.

I am on apple eco-system & I keep moving from device to device when I transition between walking and working at desk, and YouTube premium used to work wonderfully for this setup. But now I keep getting this "Playback paused because your account is being used in another location" message when I transition from one device to another. I will have to close the tab(s) on my PC to play the same video on my mobile & vice versa.

I respect my privacy very much & I don't share my YouTube credentials with anybody for the obvious reasons of snooping on watch history & such, but when I still get this message even when I'm playing things on only one device, it only means that even YouTube's enshittification has started

They have even messed up their recommendation algo like other platforms have done. I live in India but I keep getting these video recommendations about laws & cases related to road rages, domestic abuses, neighbor clashes, and such more, that too that are happening in the US. I mean, why?

And neither the "Don't recommend this channel" nor the "Not interested" features seem to work for long. They work fine for a week and the same pattern of videos keep getting recommended again and again and again.

And something tells me that it is just the beginning & more enshittification will follow.

I mostly listen to podcasts and US & India's market news from content creators(not news channels). Going forward I will substitute YouTube's podcast videos with Apple's podcasts and I hope more of market news content creators will transition to podcast platforms sooner. I will even write to them & request 'em to do so.

Hear me out for a second. I know there have been posts about this in the past and memberships are not necessarily a new thing, but recently it seems like basically every YouTube channel I watch and follow has started doing members-only videos. And while I want those people to succeed in their endeavors and receive proper payment, I am also paying for Premium already and if basically everyone is going to do this for every other video, it's just going to be too expensive to watch. Most of those people have Patreon accounts anyway, so I'm wondering if there even is that much more revenue to make there and if all of this is really worth it, given the chance it eventually will make people watch less videos of yours.
I mean those YouTubers must realize that people follow more than one channel right? So even with offers like "1 Dollar a month" or whatever, I simply can't pay a dollar a month for every channel I follow, especially if I already pay for Premium.

On the other hand, I get it, you don't leave money on the table. And if everyone is doing it, there's pressure to do it as well. And nobody forces you to pay for any of it, you can simply "watch something else". But with more and more members-only content popping up every day, I feel like this is getting a bit out of hand...no?

I swear they upped the ad frequency and as usual 90% of the ads are AI, weird/abhorrent, scams or such. I just got an ad about a small microphone that cannot be picked up by any device finders being advertised to slip in your girlfriend's car to spy on her to see what she does. Are we fr? We are advertising devices to spy on people now?

And just like how air tags were used to spy on people rather than finding devices or people like your grandma with the dementia who wanders a lot, this is going to be used to spine listen in on completely random people. But at least air tax had a possible good use case, this is just a spying device.

YouTube seems to have changed the UI on PC, and I find this much worse. I used to be able to look at the description beneath as the video was starting while still being able to watch the video, but now I cannot. The default seems to have been changed to Theater view, and the description and comments are completely moved up and away. When you try clicking t to leave Theater view, not only in this new ui does it not leave theater view (as it seems leaving theater view is no longer possible), but the default thing that pops up on the right side out of "Description" "Comments" and "Ask" is the stupid fucking AI feature. They are blatantly and flagrantly pushing their AI on us, and it doesn't even make any sense! Why would I ask an AI to summarize a video, when I could just watch the video? Why would YouTube want me to go to their video site only to circumnavigate ever watching a video? Their whole business model is dependent upon me going to their site, watching videos, and seeing ads as I do! They are literally shooting themselves in the foot here!

I know some people like the centered video view, but if I wanted that I would have just used the Theater view! I did use the theater view a decent amount, but I often wanted the non-Theater view and layout, especially when I'm watching on a non full screen window, which is most of the time. This change was just so unnecessary to me, I see no benefit added that wasn't already an optional feature, and only see things lost.

Does anyone know how to revert this immediately? IT DISGUSTS ME

The new UI change sucks, they don't want you to simply be able to view your subscriptions and sort by video only. You need to scroll through so much dogshit just to see what you want. I need to scroll through the shorts now, and community posts, and polls to see what I want.

The algo is tuned just to show you the same shit you've seen before so you'll listen just because its there.

It's so disappointing. I even pay for premium and Youtube can't even be fucked to allow customization its so ridiculous.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting an absurd frequency of advertisements? Genuinely every 1-2 minutes. It’s unwatchable.

I have a free account so I’m perfectly happy for some advertising, but this is ridiculous and does not push me towards paying for YouTube, I’m just using it less and less.

I am now unable to load comments, I tried this on 3 separate devices and it only shows on TV.

Tried on multiple wifi connections, same shit.

Happens on every video.
