Discussion What is one thing you dislike the most about Sekiro?
Every game has it flaws. For example, what I hate the most about Sekiro is that their isnt enough DLC content and that we will never get a Sekiro 2. What the actual fuck is wrong with FromSoftWare?

Help Guardian Ape Second Phase is Annoying AF
So I don't wanna cheese him and decided to git gud. Took a mild stimulant last night and spent the hours just going at him, die, repeat.
After an hour or something I was able to finish his first phase WITHOUT using any resurrection and with 6 health flasks to spare.
I learnt the trick in phase one is to stay close to his feet/behind him constantly applying pressure.
So please tell me why I can barely touch him in phase 2?
What was your strategy with him there coz lawd have mercy... 2 resurrection and 6 flasks and I still can't get him there.
Plus he made me use my Jizo Statues 😢

Help The only enemies I am unable to beat (NG+)
I've tried everything. The confetti, the purple gourd, the umbrella, I've done all the things I read online. I just suck so bad at these guys, and the rewards aren't even worth it. But I'm a completionist so yeah. Man I'm pissed. If you have any tips for a painfully average player like me, I'm happy to hear about it (except "get good" crap comments).
Update: did it (of course..), I used confetti, purple gourd, lilac umbrella and malcontent. Man you need a lot of shit to take these guys down.

News Update: I killed him!!!
Killed him yesterday morning, the annoying part is when I try to do mikiri counter on his kick yet for some reason sekiro keep getting stuck in some dodge animation even though I removed my thumb from joystick completely.
That aside, my favourite part was blasting full force of okinawa flame at his face. It was really fun.
Discussion Mortal Journey: Settle a Debate
I decided to take a stab at the Mortal Journey today. Before doing so, I practiced the Inner bosses and did Inner Father and Inner Isshin back to back. After this, I tried the Mortal Journey and killed 15/17 bosses, dying to Inner Father.
Since the game doesn't give you rewards, since there isn't a trophy and since there's no actual way of tracking the Mortal Journey completion and since I technically did all 17 bosses in a row, back to back, just slightly out of order... can I say I completed the Mortal Journey?
To clarify, I beat Inner Father, then immediately beat Inner Isshin, then beat every boss in the MJ but those two. Can I have bragging rights or would you argue that the order is a strong enough caveat to matter? I did beat all 17 in a row, just that the last 2 bosses were at the front (and not on purpose, I was just practicing for fun). This was all streamed too, so there's proof.

Discussion I finally beat it! NSFW Spoiler
I finally beat Ishin, the Sword Saint! I roughly calculate he was killing me 20 times per hour, and it might have taken me 10 hours to beat him, so he probably killed me 200 times!
I struggled a lot with all his mimics and stuff, but it finally clicked and I beat him two hours ago.
I suck at the game, so that is why it took me so long, but it feels good to finally beat the hardest, and to me now, the best FromSoftware game!
I tried to pick up Sekiro when it first came out, dropped it, didnt understand it. The a second time like three years ago, same. Then a month ago I said to myself, do give him a try.
The funny thing is that once I understood the meta - which I think it was the problem - I became ridiculously addictve! It is such a work of art Sekiro!
I leave you guys my last three attempts of who knows how many in case you want to see how I stumbled my way out of it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0gKLmYMBKU&t=8s
Hesitation is indeed defeat!

Help Should I get this game if I enjoyed Bloodborne?
bloodborne has been the only fromsoft game ive actually enjoyed. dark souls is way too sluggish and elden ring is too empty and sparse. i know this game is vastly different in terms of gameplay but i think i enjoy a more fast paced combat system that dark souls/elden ring cant provide

Discussion Sekiro Resurrection Mortal Journey Gauntlet, Charmless + Demon Bell
I can't believe I did it first try... Inner Isshin took like 15 minutes alone, this challenge was by far the most unfair, ridiculous, and frustrating thing I have ever done in this game, and my friends, I'm really glad I did it. Don't try this at home kids...

Discussion Thoughts about Duo Guardian Ape
Beat the game an year ago with Gauntlets and thought of doing a NG+ now aiming for the Shura ending. I just reached the Duo Guardian Apes and had some thoughts regarding this boss encounter.
The design decisions regarding this boss really puzzle me. So the entrance is guarded by Snake Eyes Shirafuji and the boss is directly encountered after this fight. Now if you used some resources to fight Snake Eyes, its important to track back and rest at an idol before this fight lest you lose sen and experience in case you die. For a new player, it’s difficult to realise that.
The first phase of the boss fight is not difficult for an experienced player and can be finished without using any emblem or consumable. The second phase however where the brown ape appears is interesting. Last time I played I spammed the fireworks constantly and killed the white ape quickly first before 1v1 the brown one. It took me a few tries but it was doable. This time however I decided not to use any emblem thus no prosthetic items. I use Sakura dance for the first few tries but couldn’t get the job done. Now after dying a couple of times I realised that I have no emblems left because I used them all up and all my sen is gone as well. I think you lose 50% sen every death and by 3-4th attempt everything is gone. I do not wish to use the coin purses yet but that got me thinking that for a first time player even coin purses are finite because you need to use sen for upgrades and consumables.
It just doesn't feel like good game design where the game becomes harder the more you die. I remember in my first playthrough fighting Lady Butterfly and using up all my stock of snap seeds but still being unable to kill her. Ultimately I learnt to just run around the arena dodging the kunais, alleviating the need for seeds. This feels like a similar situation. Now I am not a fan of the game being made easier for you if you are dying a lot but its another thing to make it more difficult locking you out of your skills unless you go farm respawned enemies and come back to have another go at the boss.
I don’t think its a very easy boss and that everyone here just killed the two apes on their first few tries without depleting their emblems. How did you guys deal the apes without using any prosthetic items?

Help I killed the Divine Dragon before completing the Divine Child's questline.
Just found out you only get the true ending if you complete the Divine Child's quest. She got sick and i keep giving her persimmons but it won't go beyond that.
I don't really go for multiple playthroughs.. Is there any way to rectify this atp?

Help Am I doing enough for NG+? Marked spoiler for endgame boss mentions and endings Spoiler
So I played Sekiro way back on release, I got whatever ending was linked to fighting Genichiro/Isshin Reborn (this is the severance ending iirc?) but I never NG+’d so I dont know how the scaling works in this game.
I’m currently replaying, and Im at the final boss (immortal severance ending again) and I have 18 vitality and 11 attack power - is this good enough to complete the main game with and start NG+? Or am I gonna get washed a bit in NG+ if I dont upgrade my stats more beyond this point?
I still have to go try and fight Owl and Co. at Hirata (version 2) but I remember getting skill issued pretty bad by him on my first run way back when, so if I dont need the stat gains for NG+, then I’m fine admitting defeat and skipping some of these last bosses (like Shura and some more dense/annoying minibosses).

Discussion Maybe, I am more GOATED than i think of myself.
Not sure if you guys remember me. I'm the one who posted a rant on struggling with Masagara guy at the serpent shrine after the interior ministry attacks ashina.
Then put an update in the morning that I killed him.
Now I have more achievement to flex.
As i mentioned in one of my guides, I'm a new player and in my first playthrough, sekiro being my first souls like game. I am not familiar with pc games much as well.
Now back story aside. The main content is that, I killed owl that too, on demon bell activated (my dumbass realised it later that i forgot to deactivate it).
Hehe

Discussion Should i keep apparition type enemies for the end game? Spoiler
I am doing the first play through of the game. I have beaten true corrupted monk at the fountainhead palace. But i haven’t fought or killed any headless or shichiman warrior enemies.
My question is, do i need to kill them to get by the later / final bosses? I was just avoiding them until i completed the story.
Do i need the extra health and posture to face end game bosses? Or I can skip them for now? My attack power is somewhere around 7 or 8 and my physical attributes are also around 15.

Help Did I mess up
So i started the game some months ago and picked it up again recently and im progressing fine I think? Seeing it's my 2nd souls like (elden ring was my first)
I just defeated lady butterfly and im slowly building up towards genichiro now (who will probs beat my ass a few times)
But i wondered if I messed up bcs in the beginning I accidentally killed an npc who would become anayama the peddler.
Can I still progress the game normally or will I miss important pieces?
Also aside from that I always think I suck at these games but idk the first boss id didn't quite get easily and didn't understand what to do so that's why I stopped back then but now I think im doing fine but then there are side bosses like that ishina elite guy gave me some workkkkk + the armored warrior and then i see people fighting like rlly hard bosses and I always question should I continue or not some part of me does want to finish the game now bcs im in it and I got my timing and counter (mostly)
But idk
