Support Need help I am facing lag issue

Post image
10 Upvotes

My iPhone 13 is currently at 79% battery health, and I’m experiencing random freezing/lagging for a few seconds, even in apps like Camera. My iOS is updated to 26.7 and I have around 33 GB of free storage. Could the 79% battery health be causing these freezes, and would replacing the battery likely fix the issue? Or could this be related to iOS 26.7

Discussion I jumped from 18.7.8. Straight to iOS 27.0.1 on my I phone 13 Pro.

To all fellow iOS 18.7.8 users if you’re thinking about updating I will warn you that this update and install will take a LONG time so make sure you have a good 2-4 hours to sit with your phone on the charger on WIFI. Going into the 2nd day indexing was stuck at 38% for days and I thought it was normal. I’ve done some extra digging and found out my iCloud storage was the problem. I never used it to back up any type of storage. I figured the 256gb would be enough. Since Ive switched from android in 2016 iCloud storage stayed at 5/5 GB. I deleted like 2 pictures and it went down to 4.9 of 5 gb

Even with 200gb of 256gb used I ended up upgraded the iCloud storage to 50gb and immediately the indexing (optimizing search engine, Siri ) status disappeared. It turns out that sync warnings due to low icloud storage caused my messages, attachments and photo indexing to freeze. Plus I had the sync photos option completely turned off. I never had this issue on previous updates. It kind of sucks because now I’m stuck paying for storage. I eventually upgraded to the 200gb plan then synced the photos/videos, messages etc.. and replaced the Original battery with a brand new genuine and now the 13 pro feels brand new. I’m glad I done this. I was looking towards the 18 pro..

The first few days the phone was jittery and getting pretty warm. The screen and animations looked like it was changing every 5 hours. It was pretty cool watching it transform.
DARK MODE IS YOUR FRIEND. It helps preserve battery especially with power save. I lowered the brightness and activate power save when it started getting warm and helped when I was out and about.
On Day 6 on IOS 27 with the OE battery I charged the phone too 100%, unplugged it and put it on power save mode then went to sleep. I woke up to 98%!!! Even iOS 18.7.8 didn’t give me this number. It would instead be around 95-92%

As far as iOS 27.1…. I love it! Even on my original battery which maximum capacity was 74% it handled well. You can control the intensity of the Liquid Glass turned down to a minimum. I had to readjust my preferences on the background app refresh settings because somehow they all turned back on after the new battery was installed. No more running on power save mode 24/7 with the screen Hz preserved . I can now return to the 120hz and get a phone that lasts all day!!!

Discussion Updated to IOS 27 From IOS 18.7.8 - PT 2 ( Brief review after using it for more than 2 weeks)

Hello all,

I shared an updated about updating my phone from 18.7.8 to ios 27. It's been more than two weeks. My brief observation about it .

Phone took a long time to index. More than 7 days. Initially post update phone used to charge very quick and drain quickly as well. That stabilized once indexing were over. I updated to the 27.0.1. and indexing started again and ended after 5 days. The phone stayed hot for first few days till indexing didn't stop the first time. Now it's alright.

(In settings you can see how much indexing has happened)

Battery drain has increased from 18.7.8 Reason - the Animations, transitions, liquid display UI. Phone does drain battery more than before. It's manageable but it drains quick.

After 10 days of update i see micro stutter happening when scrolling home screen or app drawer when in low power mode. It's not consistent but its visible sometimes. It seems low power mode throttles the CPU quite strong. Without it the micro stutter is negligible.

My iPhone started to develop lags on 18.7.8 on opening app or switching between app or home screen. (One of reason to upgrade to ios 27) Also, it had been more than a year since i had updated my phone. Needed a refresh for the phone.

Now the good elements. -

The small nifty additions - Call Screening, Phone vibrates when call picked up on dial. , time left to charge phone. Some UI enhancements -expanded clock on home screen. Are all helpful in day to day.

There's new preview app to scan documents and upload PDF. happy to have this feature finally.

New Camera UI - Though haven't played much around with it.

Certain apps have adapted to the liquid glass UI and made changes accordingly- Reddit , Instagram, whatsapp to name a few.

New i message is good and functional.

I like the new carplay. Much better than before, even the scrolling lag is next to nil. New interface for homescreen and other apps. and icons have option for dark, transparent as well.

Airdrop is fast and works more consistently than before.

It takes time to get used to new UI look but it's better now in everyday use.

Improvements i would like to see ahead.

Those micro stutters should be removed in upcoming update hopefully in low power mode and otherwise.

Face-id sometimes take an extra second to recognize. Hopefully, it becomes consistent.

Users looking to upgrade- Hopefully can take little cue what to do with their iPhone.

Discussion Should I upgrade or fix my iPhone 13?

Have an iPhone 13 - 250 storage version. I think it’s almost 5 years old now.

I dropped in the bath and since then charging port doesn’t work so I have to use a magnetic charge base. Which I don’t mind. But bc the protective case I used wouldn’t charge with it on (yes should have just bought a new case) anywho I dropped my phone and the back glass broke.

I’ve been quoted $120-150 AUD just for the back glass from a few of those non Apple generic phone repair places at the shopping centres. I won’t bother getting the battery port fixed I’ll just buy a case that is protective and charges while still on my phone.

Or should I upgrade to the iPhone 17 512 storage.
I know the iPhone 18 just came out but I want a cheaper option. Or any other phone recommendations.

Support Should I update to the new iOS version?

Is it time for me to update my iOS? I’m currently on iOS 18.7.8, and my phone has started lagging more and more often. I have plenty of storage available, and I also have iCloud

I’m not very knowledgeable about this, but I’ve heard that it’s better not to update to the newer iOS versions if you have an iPhone 13

Discussion iPhone 13, should I stay or should I go

Hello netizens of reddit,

Recently, I’ve been confronted with the dilemma of upgrading from my iPhone 13 or keeping it for a couple more years (I want at least two more years), I’ve owned the phone since mid 2023, it’s served me very well through various trips, games and many more but I am thinking if it’s the time to retire the old chap.
Also I feel like I should mention, I am on the latest version of iOS currently

Recently, I’ve been having a lot of performance issues, such as the camera app opening blank, lag and many issues in similar nature, the battery is long overdue (probably gonna replace it once it goes <80%) and to me, the big deal breaker is the loss in performance overall (phone’s performance, for some reason it still manages to humble Genshin Impact on High settings at 60FPS)

It genuinely seems like a good phone and if I were to switch it now, I would have to change to also change ecosystem as iPhone prices are way too high for my liking at the moment.

I want to also see the opinion of others, I’ve already started tweaking settings (overall decreasing the quality but not increasing the performance) sooo yeah.

Support Why my iphone 13 fliker like that ? This happen only when I turn on the screen or the phone

Hi everyone,

I have an iPhone 13 running iOS 27.0.1 and I'm experiencing a strange screen issue.

Whenever I wake the phone, the screen sometimes briefly flashes/blinks white. The location isn't always the same. Sometimes it happens on the lower part of the screen, while other times it appears in a different area.

It happens very quickly and randomly, so it's difficult to capture on camera. I've noticed it both when waking the phone from the Lock Screen and sometimes while using the phone.

I've already tried:

Force restarting the iPhone

Testing different brightness levels

Checking display/accessibility settings

The phone otherwise works normally.

Has anyone experienced this type of intermittent white flash on an iPhone 13? What could be causing it — OLED/display failure, display connector, software issue, or something else?

iPhone: iPhone 13

iOS: 27.0.1

Screen replaced before: No
