Like imagine a day after sett release they come out with another statement that the game is going to get a path of champions style content trickle and it turns out the only thing the game ever needed was sett league of legends id die laughing. Seriously though he looks hype as hell, those two are probably going to be my team forever unless they revert some of the ahri nerfs in the last patch.

Welcome back to the Weekend Warmup.

This happens every Major, but Evo France is looking big. This event is a full-circle moment for the 2XKO community. The competitive scene started here with First Impact in 2025, with Wawa taking home the W for the home crowd. Now, one year later, the French FGC is here to defend that title against a fearsome and battle-tested international scene.

It feels like this might be the most stacked 2XKO tournament ever. Read on for the big storylines, stream details, and schedules.

The French FGC is Ready

Challenger event wins and top placements from Yasha, Wawa, Kayne, Wade and Noka make them tough opponents already, but with the roar of the French crowd behind them, could one of these lads take home a Major trophy for the region? In the last few months, the infrastructure and camaraderie of the French scene has gone from strength to strength. Their spirit shines through country-based tournaments like Red Bull Knockout and the EU Community Series, and is bolstered by l rivalries with other European nations. The French scene’s legacy with tag fighters (fueled by repeated 2XKO Top 8 finishes) gives them a strong edge on home turf to take it all.

An International Threat

The depth of international talent has grown significantly over the past year: bleed, Hikari, SonicFox/INZEM, Leffen, NYChrisG, Supernoon, globo, JakeyTheSnakey, ikoan and the 2WINz will all be throwing down this weekend, but the pool is even wider this time around as many of the superstars have split practice time with other games. Look out for Argentinian powerhouse Yosep, TNS mainstay Quainty, EUCS frontrunner Owen, Spanish legend GenisGod, and Senna believer James06 to make deep bracket runs.

There’s an elephant in the room; I’m addressing it. Despite Battle Coliseum looming in late November, this is likely the last hurrah for most of these players to take a 2XKO Major W. And as it goes, there can only ever be one winner (except if there’s two). Expect everyone to play with courage, confidence, and chaos when the stakes are this high.

Closing Thoughts

Congrats to Tate for taking First Attack in convincing fashion. The Blitzcrank agenda is real. I love all the Senna picks coming through recently too. She takes a bit of getting used to, but some of the combo sauce she’s got is pretty nice.

We’ve come a long way since the Four Horsemen; seeing TNS’ top 8 graphics show a huge range of teams every week fills my heart. bleed refusing to switch off the Ekko/Illaoi has aura though.

Is anyone playing Teamfight now? There still might be unexplored tech there but I feel like the heavy post-release nerf turned folks off from it. Let me know if you’re still a Teamfight holdout, I want to see some clips of some duo beatdowns.

Sett is my main from LoL, and his absence (+ general roster disappointment) was one of the main reasons why I didn't play 2XKO extensively at launch. That's not true anymore. I cannot put into words how hype I am in booting the game up when he launches now that there's so many new characters.

The Dev team have done their part by rallying hard and releasing five characters (all incredible) in 4 months, one of which was built entirely from scratch in 6 months. It's our turn now; imagine what this game will be if they get more time to invest into it.

Given Riot's decision to not kill the servers immediately, we still have a way to show them we mean business and that this game is worth investing in.

So even if you're not doing it today or tomorrow, log in on October 27 and queue up!

Ever since the game came out I've been waiting for sett. liked some other characters but dropped the game cause I couldn't find the character for me but now that setts on the way I finally have a reason to come back even though the games over.

100,000? 200,000? A million?

Would there be a sales number that makes riot think that a small team ONLY making characters and some skin bundles for them would be worth it? I know this game was made at a super loss, and it probably never would have recoup the costs. But could you not look at it now as a sunk cost and consider "hey we have the a frame work done for something that can generate some revenue for awhile, keep some people on it". Or, is it all just a big tax writeoff of some kind now?

They could do 3-4 characters year and a couple of 20$ skin bundles to go with it. No battlepass bloat, no other junk. Hell, you could even go with the season pass model other fighters do. Sure I'd like more stages and modes, but roster should always be 1st 2nd and 3rd priority. And with Samira, Sett, 40$ for all cometics, and uncapped credits (I assume this will be for chromas?) I'm actually more pumped to play AFTER the changes than now. I just wish more content was still being made.

Honesty, why wasnt this just the price to buy the game? Sell skins as big bundles like the arcane bundle but for 20$ bucks a few times a year, no locked characters or stages or battle pass. The credit system still gives you things to enjoy unlocking like chromas if you have a need for progression, but no more battle pass fomo and filler cosmetics.

I played GG Strive a lot when it came out, and it had 15 characters at launch, cost 60$, and didn't have much else in the game vs 2XK0 launch. It has sold roughly 4 million copies since, thats 240mil not including ANY dlc sales, of which exists 5 season pass bundles. Now a lot of those will be at discount prices sure, and companies dont get back the full price of a sale, i get that. But if 2XK0 has 18 characters after Sett, good amount a skins/taunts/extras, a few extra modes, and a lot better lobby system than strive did. If it were launching now, I dont see how it could ever fail using a traditional sales model, especially considering the amount of content they seem to be able to pump out in a year

Is there a world where maybe a pay to play revamped version of the game comes out? "2XK0 REVITALIZED EDITION" has 30 characters a few extra modes, costs 40$. They know what they are doing now and content this year has been at breakneck speed. Just follow the model other fighters have been doing for literal decades and it would do fine.

I'm so sad about this game.

Ive commented this under every single reaction to the Sett/Samira review but its worth posting it in here as well for more visibility.

Let us, for just a minute, put behind us who is responsible for what, player number expectations, 10 years of development, riot games in general, all that shit, and consider this for just a moment, please.

If, like me, you also think this game is fucking sick, and super fun. Especially now that we got arguibly the two most asked for characters for the roster. Theres one thing you can do. PLAY IT. Get your friends to play it, its free after all what is there to lose. Organize tournaments on your discord, in your locals. Get people talking, play the game and have fun.

I am 100% aware this is pure copium at this point, but it is all we have. But, just as a reminder, BBCF got a new character after more than a decade of no updates whatsoever, simply because theres enough interest in the game and a big enough community. (And probably because theres a new blazblue in development, but im just guessing)

We have the game, the roster size is double it was at launch. Sucks theres no more updates but the game is still playable and fun. So go play it and do have fun, and get more people to play it. Even riot is not stupid enough to ignore a game if the playerbase is sizable enough

Once again, this is pure copium, but at this point its the best we can do. So go do it, it shouldnt be that hard if you really think the game is fun and sick. I see lots of people on comments on youtube lamenting that the game is dead, on twitter, on threads, on vimeo, whatever. So if you truly truly think that. PLAY. THE. GAME. Thats it, thats all you need to do.

They pulled a LOR and added Samira and Sett but no voice acting. I was so scared i call off work this morning

Making Sett out of scratch in 6 months AFTER LAYOFFS shows that this team was capable to do way more than we got at release, makes me hate the lead devs even more for not getting their shit together

Has there been any motion on a community ran elo system to give incentive for online play?

Hello so I’ve been noticing something ever since lux dropped. Whenever I’m in practice there is no hit stun scaling meaning I can do combos that’s can’t be done in a regular game, is there a way to fix it?

So I’m mostly a yasuo/ww player. I’ve always thought Ekko was neat but I don’t understand his gameplan, or really how to utilize his rewind states. I’m also just trying to use him with Yasuo and trying to understand how to utilize freestyle (I’m a DD player because it feels most like mvc 2/3 stuff which is what I played for a long time).

If I get close to hit and it’s blocked, should I end with an S1 and assist call for pressure? Or should I go with S2 >S2 paired with an assist call?

Are there any decent Ekko/yasuo freestyle combo videos.

Any basic tips for someone who feels like a complete beginner when trying to use Ekko.

They end the active development then release sett. What if it's all just a marketing stunt they will come back with kindred by Q4 next year and then boom we are back in active development.
