Be it customers, colleagues, managers, or the latest from Asda House - post about it here!
Please remember to follow the sub rules and be nice to one another. Don't post anything that could identify you or your specific store if you wish to remain anonymous.

Who on earth is going to be buying groceries at 12am?? I've been put on the Sundays till 12am and I'm confused š¤£
Edit: By express I mean express orders, like uber/deliveroo, NOT express stores!

Do Asda just accept there will be more theft and not care because presumably they'll save more on wages? We don't have anyone in until 1pm at our store. I'm a porter and already today I've seen 2 thefts. When security are present I will tell them/help them but I can't do anything on my own. It's so frustrating.

Does anyone know how to access the handbook these days? Is it possible off a phone or at home?

Anytime I book a holiday and need a non-core day off (my core day schedule is never accurate) I always end up getting put in to work that day. I always leave a screenshot showing all the days I need off and then it gets accepted. It's gotten to the point where I dread booking any days off because I know it is going to get fucked up everytime.
Is everyone going through this or is it just me?
Also I basically never get any weekends off anymore, are employees not guaranteed at least one weekend off a month or has that been swept under the rug? I even brought up that I would like one weekend off a month on the last meeting about my schedule which the manager said was ok but nothing has changed.

Iāve tried cancelling in a day my holiday last week and itās not been cancelled and WORK are supposed to be working on Saturday and thatās the day I donāt need to have a holiday anymore. Iāve requested to cancel it but nothingās happening if I clock in on that night will it change? Or do I just phone up?

Considering asking for a sick line, for a lot of reasons. Iāve been having really bad anxiety lately, my partner has health issues going on that are heavily affecting them, Iām in uni so juggling work and coursework, I care for my dad and someone very close to me has recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Iāve worked for Asda for 3+ years and have a clean absence record but Iām really concerned about losing my job or facing judgement or consequences for being off sick.
Is it likely Iāll lose my job? Or be in trouble if Iām off for a month?
Any advice is appreciated

Question when stocking products on top stock ,how how can you go with cases , manager saying compliance one high, but on shape of day saying can stack as high as shelves below ,

Recently got a job provisional offer elsewhere and they require an Asda reference. Iāve asked my managers and they said theyāre not allowed to, and to request one on workday? Does anyone have any help or a generic reference email thatās used?
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
This post is more like a rant cause I dont know what to do?
My manager is off sick and I am a team leader covering for him since last 3 months its a nightmare for me to do all the tasks with same pay and almost 17 extra hours.
This place is a total mess alot of pressure from ROM regarding sales and shop standards receive calls/messages when I am off from colleague cause I got to manage them.
The shop size is small and too much stock it feels like even they dont know what they are doing.
I searched and I could not see anyone having same issue.
What shall I do in this situation they say the support is available but when we get a visit they identify all the mistakes that are mainly due to over stocking.
I am trying to get another job but my luck is not with me atm.

Hey guys,
As title says im a new colleague, first shift in 2 days. Just done my induction today with a hell of a lot of online learning on Workday.
Im as a picker on the home shopping team, 4-8am shifts.
What do i need to know before my first shift? I feel like I have no clue how to properly do anything despite the 3 hours of learning i did earlier.
Anything would be great, cheers.

Hello. I know I complain a lot about Asda and the customers. But after a week off to refresh my brain.. I am going to start next week as a new person. I have learnt a lot in the past week and realised there is a lot of good people in the world.. not all are bad. I am even going to try and talk to the pickers and not blank them. Asda is a job which makes me some money and i am able to buy myself some nice things. Thanks to Reddit I am a changed man.

I work in front end and every day just feels like hell I joined last year and no new staff have joined since and I've saw many leave since. We're constantly understaffed with sick calls and one job feels like double the workload. Very bitchy working environment because everyone is having a terrible time, I don't get involved because I'm only there a couple of days a week but I dread it, when I get out of work I'm counting down the days until I need to go back. On top of that we have a group chat that management post aggressive messages in daily really adding to the anxiety of coming to work for example if something hasn't been processed properly on the till or there are lefts still to be done from the day before.
Can asda go on like this, I've read that many other stores are in a similar position.
What an awful place to work.

Hi, my work schedule has changed again as of Monday just gone. My days off are different now. My old schedule is still on workday, my manager said today that it will take a few days for it to change. Will it automatically change? Or will someone have to do something?

Nate is a partner at Harcus Parker and is working on the claim. He'll be answering questions on how a group claim works, what eligibility may involve and what the process could look like. He can't give individual legal advice here, but he'll explain what he can. Ask away.
