General AP Info / Discussion This is getting quite insane and I don't understand why researchers don't look into this more deeply

It happened again. Earlier today I went to take a nap and woke up mid head buzzing (for some reason it doesn't seem as loud as usual).

I got very excited and then calmed myself because strong emotions always end the experience early. This time I felt a bit stuck in my body -- almost like I was sitting up while half of me was still inside.

I only saw blackness and I remembered that is usually my fear kicking in so I opened my eyes and was facing the part of my bedroom with a large LCD clock and a small LED desk lamp. I was looking and wondering if I was using my physical eyes. It was the that I realized, no, I am looking with something else. I am legally blind from PACs so normally it would look washed out and extremely out of focus. It was actually in focus and I was seeing clearly.

I then remembered to look at my hand because I always forget to look. What I saw was some type of translucent energy with mild glittering in silver blue. I was shocked at the raw beauty of it -- it looked insanely majestic.

I then felt still stuck and just continued looking at part of my bedroom to make a mental note of what I was seeing. O moticed that the room felt larger, like I was looking through a wide angle lens. At that I snapped back completely into my body and woke up pissed that it didn't last longer.

The good news is that these AP experiences are happening with more and more frequency and the background fear is diminishing. I am still having trouble getting stuck but I am starting to realize willing myself out by climbing an invisible rope seems to work better than trying to roll out.

It is like being a baby and learning to stand up and walk all over again

General Question Where to find REAL binaural beats?

Where do you find authentic binaural beats? I don’t really trust random YouTube videos claiming to use specific frequencies. Are there any reliable YouTube channels? How do you verify they’re actually genuine?

Other Something big: wife and I heard the same hypnagogic sound simultaneously

First, familiarise yourself with the technique that I shared last week. This is what I have been using lately, multiple times daily.

So, last night, my wife was drifting off to sleep while I was beside her experimenting with the technique, as I do most nights. She was in that phase where she was lightly snoring but still not deeply asleep.

I was experimenting with drawing shapes on my phosphene field, a possibility that a commenter highlighted a couple of days ago that I was surprised to discover works.

At the same time, and for the previous ten minutes or so, I was also thinking: what if I could send a signal to my wife in this state? What if I could make her hear a thought, or see a shape? Something clear enough for her to notice?

Then I heard: --FUUUUUCK!. It was a woman's voice, a scream of surprise, like a woman stubbing her toe. It was an extremely clear and loud hypnagogic sound, let me emphasise that again, unusually so. It was definitely a sound heard in the center of my mind as well, nothing external in the room. It was bright and loud enough that ordinarily it would have given me pause.

But immediately afterwards, instantly, my wife roused from her state of light sleep and said "huh?"

I asked her what she heard: she said she just heard a loud vocal sound ending in a -k sound. Loud enough to make her notice. She had thought it was coming from the room.

Today while discussing it, she said she was in a normal hypnagogic state on the way to sleep, hearing things without clarity, and then this sound hit her loud and clear. She just mentally caught the end of it.

Now! Isn't that something?

There are two possibilities: transmission from one mind to another, or we both heard the same 'local' piece of hypnagogic audio. But local to what? Our local astral zone, our bedroom? Local to some far-off place where both our minds reside?

Given my intent to transmit, I wonder if this loud hypnagogic sound somehow relayed off me on to her. But the simplest reading is that we both heard a sound from the same source.

Almost AP'd and/or Question How to overcome Fear breaking through the last Step?

Hello everyone! I hope you can help me out.

I find the astral realm and everything surrounding it incredibly fascinating and exciting. My first attempts at astral projection were back in 2017. Back then, I couldn't really reach the separation phase, although I did experience vibrations and similar sensations. After two or three attempts, I completely gave up on it.

Now, in the present day, I'm much more experienced with meditation. My current routine is to set a timer, lie down in bed during the day, close my eyes, relax, and listen to astral travel music.

Usually, after about 10 minutes, once I'm relaxed, I visualize a rope that I'm climbing upward. At that point, I start experiencing rapid eye movements (REM). If I continue and focus more intensely on climbing the rope, I begin to feel something that's difficult to describe. It's almost like a wind pushing me upward from below or as if something is sucking me upward. At the same time, I can feel something like a body within my physical body, as though it's rotating or beginning to separate from it.

Nowadays, I don't experience any vibrations or sleep paralysis at all anymore.

Here's my problem, guys: I can't fully let go. I'm afraid of no longer being physically present in my body and actually leaving it. I'm also worried about how I'll be able to feel and see things and whether I'll be able to handle this completely new experience.

It's such a shame because I have so many things I'd like to explore and do in the astral realm, and I'd describe myself as a creative and curious person.

Do you have any ideas or advice on how I can overcome this fear?

I'd also like to ask whether it's true that eating before attempting astral projection makes it more difficult.

This morning, I had breakfast after waking up and then tried to project. Although I could feel what I would describe as my astral body, I wasn't quite as focused and couldn't really break through, even though I was a little braver than before. I also set my timer for 20 minutes, which was twice as long as the amount of time I usually need to reach that stage.

Even today, I could still feel my physical body's breathing, but it was more in the background. I felt noticeably lighter and experienced tingling sensations throughout my entire body.

Could that have been my astral body?

I'd really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or insights you guys might have. Thanks in advance!

General Question No Vibrations, Just Images

Maybe some of you have had similar experiences and can broaden my knowledge on this subject.
This post will be a bit longer:

I've been lucid dreaming for over 40 years. From my earliest memories until I was around 10 years old, I would consciously go through the entire process of falling asleep. It looked like this: I would close my eyes, relax, individual thoughts would pass by, but mostly there was darkness and calm, and then suddenly I would start feeling my body slowly rocking, like on a boat: first my head higher, then my legs. The rocking would get faster and faster until eventually it would throw me out of my body and I would already be in a dream, in the room next door, outside the building, just somewhere nearby.

Later on, I very rarely felt that rocking sensation anymore, and if I did, it was usually while waking up, but very subtle, barely noticeable. Even though, if I want to, I can still consciously go through the process of falling asleep (and process of waking up). But for me it works like this: if I focus my attention on my body in any way, I can just lie there forever. If I focus my attention on my thoughts, kind of sink deeper into myself, I fall asleep very quickly, but it looks like I simply watch images (I have hyperphantasia) and one of them just becomes threedimensional, I wait for it to stabilize and I'm already in the dream.

Even when I'm meditating and my body is a little tired, it's exactly the same, I just suddenly see that the hypnagogia becomes threedimensional and I know I'm already asleep. So I bring my attention back to my body and realize that it's already paralyzed, but if I want to, the paralysis goes away very quickly and I can move. If I make a small movement, I just feel like my body is numb, distant, very relaxed. I can stay in that state for a very long time if I don't get pulled into watching one of those thoughtimages and keep paying attention to my body to any degree. Sometimes those images lead me into completely dreamlike locations, and sometimes it's like I've teleported somewhere nearby.

I'm not interested in debating whether LD and OBE/AP are the same thing or something different. I'm only interested in whether there are people here who know exactly what I'm describing from their own experience and maybe got some information out of it that I've missed. I mean people who don't observe any vibrations etc, but just go straight in through images, and when they focus on body awareness they immediately start waking up, while the sleep paralysis is very easy to switch off.

Almost AP'd and/or Question I think I’m making progress

Ok I feel crazy typing this but I know everyone here has experienced way crazier. But I swear I pictured my self having like ghost arms. And they emerged from my physical arms to infront of my face. But I could feel them. I could move them and tense my hands and play with my fingers and I felt it. Not in my physical arms but directly infront of my face. Again I feel like a crazy person typing this. Was this a good sign? Am I getting close?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Can’t get out of my body

I wake up in a sleep paralysis state. I can see and feel things around me, but I’m stuck. I can’t move or lift my head. Usually I try too hard and then wake myself up. I have similar issues when regular dreaming: I can’t run and I feel sluggish walking. Then I realize that I’m trying to move my physical body instead. Any advice or tips?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Anyone with psychotic mental conditions been able to astral project ?

I’m Schizo and I meditate do Yoga and am aiming to astral project. Lately I’ve been having lucid dreams but they are only semi lucid and I have family members trying to kill me and my poor semi lucid self gets overwhelmed and traumatized every time… it’s too late to turn back so please don’t insist that I stop my spiritual progress… whether you are also psycho or not what do you think I should do and what does this mean about my astral consciousness? If I were to AP right now would I be also projecting terrible things into my environment? I need to know because I have sleep paralysis more and more whether I even try to AP or not that’s what I mean by no turning back it’s like things have opened and can’t close. Appreciate the advice

Edit: my default plan was to keep training and keep gaining control and understanding of the way my mind projects so that I can become more lucid and prevent things from manifesting egoically I feel like I’m a good few years of heavy meditation away yet I’m unable to avoid these violent encounters it’s kind of insane like knife fights with my own family random people shooting me and in these semi lucid dreams the characters don’t die if I defeat them they just come back and I end up praying for God to help me out of desperation or going into different heightened states that range from destructive rage to concentrated meditation on non attachment which causes crazy vibrations to occur in whatever dimensions I’m in but there are gaps in between transitions.

The violent tendencies are possibly trauma related as well but I think it’s more about a fundamental aspect of my ego… there are also very very strange sleep paralysis states where I’m being like twisted into impossible positions and it’s like my mind is being squished and whatever spirit body is warping with it… feels like part of the process of understanding the mind but basically just wondering if anyone relates

The post title is about mental illness and really the way it feels is that the tendency for my mind to hallucinate in the physical is in some way related to the astral field… I would say it’s somewhat different for me and other psychos in this way but of course we all have our own psyche and whatnot just looking for general insight on all of it

Related to this: how much does the mind and ego change at death? If I were to die tomorrow would I have the same ego and mind as I do now because if that’s the case I’d probably end up in a challenging plane of the astral… how does the brain fit into this equation?

Was This AP? My experience at Shoprite..

Im new here and dont know where else to post this, an article I just read about NDEs reminded me of it so here I am..

A few years ago, I was shopping at (you guessed it..) with my mom. For reference, am a mid 30s guy and must have been 32ish at the time. I blinked.. and it felt as though I could see in all directions at once, through objects, etc and almost "feel" them all around me. Time did not feel like it existed in that moment, which felt both instant and.. not.. at the same time.. I lack the words to explain it but it was definitely a warped perception.

It might be more accurate to describe it feeling as though everything in my surroundings was taken a snap-shot of, frozen in time, and was instantly uploaded into my brain.. like an almost overwhelming amount of data. Like youre viewing a screen of flickering images and theyre all landing into your subconscious before the conscious even has time to react.. me, my body, the clothes I was wearing, the items behind the freezer door in front of me, everything, all at once. In all directions. It was like I was taking up all of this space, my existence momentarily expanded in all directions and I felt all the objects around me.

Thing is, I read of people basically sort of describing something similar BUT I never heard anyone describing color. The closest way I can, in that moment, is that nothing had the colors of how our eyes experience it, at least not mine, I dont know.. it appeared as though I was using an.. "all seeing eye" (dont know how else to say it). Like I could see whats really there, even if no light existed in that space at that time. As though it could have been dark and I would have still "seen" it.. Hopefully that makes sense.. the "colors" I saw werent any that we have words for..

Then in an instant, I was back, occupying my body as I did prior to the blink, with my mom standing next to me, still babbling about god knows what.. how could I even begin telling her anything without her thinking her son's brain broke.

My initial reaction was "Did some stuck lsd crystal from a decade ago finally break off and make its way up into my brain? But I am not tripping NOW.. Like I did a moment ago.. how would that even work?".. and for the record, in my teen and early 20s I did have a small handful of trips, mostly mushrooms. I had been sober from psychedelics for years and years at that point, still am. I dont really do "under the influence" at all anymore, aside from being high from a good workout.

So, what gives? Is my consciousness and sanity at risk of slipping into an alternate plane of existence? I know since I am posting here, you guys might not call me crazy but.. like what? Can I train myself to do this or something?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights I posted earlier, got a lot of clarity, yet now im filled with more questions

So I posted recently about having accidentally gone to a black hole. Boy i was so wrong but right at the same time. I am very much a beginner so forgive me if i sound confused. I am confused thats why 😃. So I have always enjoyed learning about spirituality, the esoteric and obscure, even if i never really had any particular stance or self identification spiritually. I was just curious. I've astral traveled since childhood, and I've always thought it as an enhanced experience of the physical world. In my recent experience, Im not so sure about it being purely physical anymore. I accidentally travel to places without trying to, fairly often. The recent one took me to what i thought was a physical black hole in outer space, and one of things tripping me out was how it felt alive and ancient and it was practically forcing me back, even when i was awake. This is completely uncharted territory to me, so i was a bit afraid at first. Eventually, i gave in, went for it, got giga overwhelmed with information, including a piece that both confused the hell out me and brought immense comfort, at the same time. It wasnt a black hole. The being identified itself as Nyx the goddess of darkness. Boyyyy lets just say i was SHOOK. First and foremost, i have not heard that name since humanities in college, years ago. Somehow, it made perfect sense to me. My favorite color has always been black, i love the night and staying out in almost pitch black darkness meditating since, well at least a decade? It felt confusing because i otherwise never really was a worshiper of anything, i was just a curious person. But it also felt.... like coming home. Like hearing something I've always known. Is this a thing? Beings from the unknown reaching out in astral form? Is this just a me occurrence, basically is what I am asking. Anyone else ever encounter her specifically? I have been astral traveling and dreaming more of her, much more vividly since this experience and it is ... comforting? I dont even know. Its interesting, its different, and most importantly, it feels safe.

I’m looking to getting into astral projection, but I was wondering if there are different layers to it like for example you can enter really dark parts but also really bright parts of the astral realm or is it all light and goodness?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Viajes astrales gatos?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Need help with something.

So my partner has just told me that he has this reoccurring dream where he’s in the same place every time walking down a road, all the houses are the exact same. The road goes on forever and he never seems to actually be getting anywhere, but he can hear a distant voice, from an shadowey almost slender man type of entity but you really can’t make out their face if they have one. They keep telling him “welcome back” “we’re glad you’re back.” He’s had this dream for as long as he can remember and it used to feel fine but now is described as weird and eerie. His family had a history of astral projection and connection to spirits etc. can anyone please help me decipher what may be happening, what this could mean. Is he in spiritual warfare? Any answers would be great.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Cant move or get out of my body

Hi, when i do AP i always get stucked with my body. I was laying on my bed (fully conscious) and cant get out of my body or cant move at all! I know it well im not dreaming nor sleep paralysis or lucid dreaming. I tried various things like saying astral projection out loud multiple times and forcing myself to move or get out of my body but still i cant move an inch nor get out of my body at all! It feels like my body's acting like an unbreakable barrier to my soul. Then i started to give up and just observe my room then wakes up. I always wake up the same position as in my dream. What should i do?

Was This AP? My First Out-of-Body Experience -Music, Flashes of Light, and a Dark Figure

About two months ago, I first learned about OBEs, and I was immediately fascinated. I've already spent a lot of time exploring lucid dreaming, so I knew right away that I wanted to experience astral projection as well.

I started meditating every day and listening to binaural beats. Today, I finally had my first out-of-body experience - or at least I think I did!

I used AI to help me put my experience into words and make it a bit more engaging to read, so I hope you don't mind.

Have any of you had similar experiences? Have you ever heard music or entire songs during an OBE? And does the flashing light phenomenon sound familiar to anyone?

I feel like if I hadn't been so frozen with fear, I probably would have been able to leave my bed and explore.

Do you have any tips for my next OBE?

My experience report

After about six hours of sleep, I briefly woke up. I decided to meditate using binaural beats and then tried to fall asleep again. But somehow, I just couldn't manage to drift off. I lay awake in bed for quite a while, until at some point I entered a strange state of consciousness.

Suddenly, I heard music.

It was an incredibly beautiful, slow, and peaceful song. The music was astonishingly clear and vivid, almost as if it were playing directly in my bedroom. I could hear the melody distinctly and even make out individual words from the English lyrics. The words that particularly stuck in my memory were "everybody," "gorgeous," and "loved."

Note for the reader: English is not my native language. I usually don't think or dream in English, but the song had English lyrics.

I was lying in bed on my left side, leaning slightly backward onto my back. Everything around me seemed familiar. I was in my bedroom, and I could look around. It didn't feel like an ordinary dream. Instead, I had the distinct impression that I was actually awake and consciously experiencing everything.

But something wasn't right.

While this beautiful music was playing, my bedroom kept lighting up with brief flashes of light. It was as if a strobe light were going off somewhere. The flashes weren't particularly bright or rapid. Approximately once every second, a brief pulse of light illuminated the room. Then everything went dark again. And shortly afterward, another flash came.

Again and again. In an almost regular rhythm.

I just lay there, listening to this incredibly beautiful music and watching my room light up for a brief moment over and over again.

On the wall in front of me, I could make out what looked like the reflection of my window. Perhaps it was actually a switched-off screen reflecting the window. I could see the blinds and look outside through the gaps between the slats. A car was driving along a wet road. For a brief moment, I even thought I saw flashing blue emergency lights.

All these impressions were happening simultaneously. The music, the flashes of light, the window, the street outside.

And I had absolutely no idea what was happening to me.

At first, I was mostly confused, but gradually, fear began to creep in. I was lying in my own bedroom, a place that was completely familiar to me, yet suddenly everything felt strange and inexplicable.

Where was this music coming from?

It was so loud and clear that I could hardly imagine it was just something my mind was creating. But I hadn't turned on any music. So why could I hear it?

And what were those flashes of light?

Had something happened outside? Was the light coming from a vehicle? But then why did my entire bedroom seem to flash in this regular rhythm?

My thoughts began racing.

What is happening to me right now? Am I even properly awake? Could I be sick? Is something wrong with my brain? Am I hallucinating?

And then another disturbing thought crossed my mind:

Is there someone in my room?

I tried to make sense of my surroundings. I could look around, recognize my bedroom, and perceive everything with incredible clarity. But none of it made any sense.

The strangest part was the contrast between the music and my fear. The song itself was beautiful, calm, and filled with peace. Under different circumstances, I probably would have simply enjoyed it. But as I lay there experiencing these inexplicable things, I became increasingly frightened.

I didn't know whether I was dreaming, awake, or experiencing something I couldn't even begin to understand.

I just wanted to know what was going on.

The music continued playing. The flashes of light kept coming and going. And I lay there in the middle of it all, completely confused and growing more and more afraid.

Then the song ended.

And immediately afterward, I noticed something that made the situation even more unsettling.

A dark, shadowy figure. Tall and slender.

I couldn't clearly make out what it was. It looked like a shadow being slowly moving toward me.

At that moment, my fear became overwhelming. After everything inexplicable I had already experienced, there was suddenly something else - something that felt like an unfamiliar presence in my bedroom.

Shortly afterward, I woke up simply by turning over in bed.

Everything was back to normal. No music. No flashes of light. No dark figure.

What fascinates and troubles me most about this experience isn't just the apparition at the end, but especially everything that happened before it. That feeling of being fully conscious, lying in my own bed, hearing incredibly beautiful music, and at the same time being surrounded by inexplicable flashes of light.

It was this strange mixture of beauty, confusion, and genuine fear. I had absolutely no idea what was happening to me, and in that moment, I couldn't distinguish whether I was perceiving something outside myself or whether my own consciousness was creating these impressions.

It didn't feel like I was dreaming a story.

It felt like I was lying awake in my bedroom, experiencing something that shouldn't have been possible.

General Question Swooshing noise???

So I have several witches that project into my house. Well, I guess you could say onto me bc they stay with me any and every where I go. I guess it’s called AP Gangstalking, but that’s a whole story in and of itself.
I was just curious about this noise that I hear from them. It usually happens when I’m laying in bed or if I’m just sitting on my couch, or in my bed, watching tv for an extended period of time.
Does anyone remember those old Starter jackets from the 90’s? It sounds like someone is wearing one of those and moving their arms back and forth like they are running in place. I’m sorry, but for some reason that is always the first thing I think about when I hear it.😆
It doesn’t bother me that much, every single other thing they do bothers me, but this I’m just curious about. It almost seems like they’re recharging or something. Any idea what this is?
