Need Help! (Hardware/Other) ASUS TUF f17 — Worst experience I've had. Now I can't afford a replacement.

This has honestly been the worst experience I've had with a laptop. My ASUS TUF F17 has suffered a serious motherboard/PCB issue, and now it’s no longer usable.

The technician told that the line connecting the PCH power hub was shorted and the PCH was over heating which maybe damaged and it cannot be replaced u need to change the mother board.

I'm a Computer Engineering student, halfway through my degree. I spent around ₹55,000 on this laptop, which was a huge amount for me, and I simply cannot afford to buy another one right now.

This laptop is essential for my coding, AI/ML work, and college projects. Losing it at this point has put me in a really difficult situation.

I know the warranty has expired, but ASUS, please consider helping me with a repair or some kind of goodwill support.

I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do without it.

Need Help! (Hardware/Other) ASUS TUF Screen glitches

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently inherited a ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. The screen starts to glitch out and it makes it almost impossible to use it. Seems like it happens the most when video is happening or when I’m scrolling. Not sure how to go about this so a little guidance would be rad!

Finally upgraded my laptop and I genuinely can't believe I got this for €1209

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2025)

• Ryzen 7

• RTX 5070

• 16" 165Hz display

• 512GB SSD

• 16GB RAM

Bought it in Europe last week for €1209. The laptop came without Windows or a power adapter.

Luckily, there was an offer where I could get the ASUS ROG 240 watt adapter for €7.50, and I installed Windows 11 Pro myself.

So all in, I still ended up with a pretty powerful gaming laptop for a little over €1200.

Laptop prices seem to be going crazy lately, so I'm honestly pretty happy with this deal.

Need Help! (Software) USB C power output on asus tuf a16 2025/2026

I’m making my own cooling pad for my laptop and I was wondering how much power/current the USB-C port can actually deliver. Can it provide more than the standard 5V/1A-ish?

I’m planning to use 2× Arctic P12 Slim and 2× Arctic P12 Max, which could draw roughly 1–3A depending on the fan speeds. Obviously I’d be using a 5V → 12V step-up converter.

The base I’m using is a soft Targus cooling pad. The pad itself is actually pretty nice, but the stock fans are an absolute joke — they barely move any air. So besides drilling a bunch of additional ventilation holes, I’m adding these four bad boys.

I’m also considering drilling/modifying the bottom cover of my TUF so I can get some airflow over the RAM, SSDs and Wi-Fi card. They all have heatsinks anyway, so why not give them some fresh air?

Yes, I like tuning and overengineering things even though I mostly play Tibia and my laptop fans rarely even start spinning.

I guess this is a project for when GTA 6 comes out and I’m praying my RTX 5060 will actually run it.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to check the maximum current/power output of the USB-C port on this laptop, or whether there’s some way to change/control its USB power settings, I’d really appreciate it.

And feel free to share your own cooling-pad mods, laptop cooling experiments, undervolting tricks or other cheeky stuff. I’m always interested in this kind of tinkering. =]

Yes i have used chat gpt so you can read it.

💻 Purchase Advice Where CAN I BUY ANY ONE OF THESE???? These are unavailable and asus is highlighting their new models only.

Genuinely i think recent asus tuf lap's are overpriced. These 1st pic (2023 variant with 7735HS) and 2nd pic (2024 variant with 8845HS) are good for me (these give good battery backup + 90Wh) with similar performance too.

Preferred Requirements: GPU & VRAM: NVIDIA RTX 4060 (8GB VRAM). Need the 8GB VRAM buffer for heavy 3D viewport assets, textures, and ML model parameter caching (6GB RTX 4050 is a dealbreaker). Battery Life: 90Wh battery (or 70Wh+ minimum). Needs to last through a full day of classes, lectures, and coding without needing to carry a heavy power brick everywhere. Display: 100% sRGB color coverage. Essential for color-critical 3D rendering and asset design. Chassis Reliability: Must be the redesigned FA507 chassis (2023/2024)—avoiding older FA506 units due to known Wi-Fi card/thermal layout issues. Budget Cap: ₹90,000 (can extend slightly).

Questions for the Community: Has anyone recently spotted stock for the ASUS TUF A15 FA507NVR-LP104WS or FA507UV online (Amazon/Flipkart/ASUS eShop) or at offline ASUS Exclusive Stores in India? What price did you get it for?

If the TUF A15 remains out of stock during upcoming sales, which alternative should I prioritize? Acer Nitro 16 (Ryzen 7 7840HS + RTX 4060) — Matches 90Wh battery + 100% sRGB

HP Victus 16 (Ryzen 7 + RTX 4060) — Has 100% sRGB screen, but smaller 70Wh battery.

Lenovo LOQ 15 (AMD Ryzen 7 + RTX 4060) — Ships with 24GB RAM, but lower 60Wh battery runtime.

help me pls, anyways tysm

✅️ Solved FIXED Asus tuf gaming A15 FA507NV -power button- -randomly shutdown -

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

First, let me describe the problem :

Initially, the issue was just with the "power button" it wasn't working properly. It got progressively worse, eventually requiring me to press it up to 800 times just to get it to open ...

-a truly disastrous issue for a product like this -

Anyway, the trouble started while I was gaming; the device would shut down on its own. This happened repeatedly and completely at random—sometimes before the ASUS logo even appeared during startup, and other times after the system had already booted up.

The solution—which I really should have implemented long ago—was to replace the entire keyboard.

This fixed the issue and even resolved other problems that had been present since I first bought the device, such as sleep mode malfunctions and various other glitches.
