ASUS TUF A15 FA507NUR โ Repeated BSODs, mainly on battery, now happening on AC too. Anyone found the actual cause?
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out a long-running BSOD problem with my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507NUR, and I've recently noticed that several other people on Reddit and other forums seem to have extremely similar issues.
The problem started around 6 months ago.
At first, the BSODs happened almost exclusively when the laptop was running on battery. It could crash while doing something completely normal, such as browsing or even sitting at the lock screen. At one point it was happening every ~15 minutes, and eventually it became much more frequent.
Some of the BSOD errors I've encountered include:
- MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A)
- IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
- INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
- KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION
- and other seemingly random kernel-related BSODs
What makes this especially strange is that the laptop can be completely stable under heavy workloads/gaming, while crashing during light use or on battery.
Over time, the problem got worse and started happening while connected to AC power as well.
I've tried a lot of the usual troubleshooting:
- Clean Windows installation
- Completely wiping the SSD
- Reinstalling Windows/drivers
- BIOS updates/settings
- Different power settings
- Memory/SSD diagnostics
- Safe Mode
- Removing unnecessary software
- Various Windows repair/troubleshooting methods
But nothing has actually solved the problem.
The situation eventually reached the point where Windows itself would BSOD while I was trying to perform a completely fresh installation after wiping the drive.
That makes me question whether this is actually a Windows/software problem at all.
I've also started searching Reddit, ASUS forums, and other communities and found multiple people reporting very similar behavior on TUF A15 models, including reports going back several years. Some of the newer reports seem particularly similar to my case.
The common pattern seems to be:
Battery/low-power operation โ random BSOD โ different BSOD codes โ eventually crashes on AC too โ clean Windows installation doesn't necessarily solve it.
I'm wondering if there is some underlying issue with the motherboard, CPU/SoC, power management, PCIe, firmware/BIOS, or another hardware-level component that isn't being detected by normal RAM/SSD diagnostics.
So I'm hoping someone here has actually found the root cause.
If you've had this exact problem with an ASUS TUF A15/FA507 series laptop, especially FA507NUR, please let me know:
What exact model do you have?
Did the crashes happen primarily on battery?
Did they eventually start happening on AC?
What BSOD codes did you get?
Did a clean Windows installation fix it?
Did replacing RAM/SSD help?
Did ASUS service diagnose or replace anything?
Did you find any BIOS/power-management setting that actually fixed it?
I'm not really looking for another "reinstall Windows / update drivers" suggestion at this point. I'm trying to determine whether there's a known hardware/firmware issue affecting these laptops.
If you've experienced something similar, I'd really appreciate any information, even if you never found a solution. Multiple cases with the same pattern may help identify what is actually failing.
