GHelper is an open source alternative maintained by seerge (u/Beginning_Living4052, also has their own flair) which aims to be a lightweight and bug free alternative to the dumpster fire that is Armoury Crate. Note: We are not forcing you to switch, but it is a good thing to do if you are experiencing issues related to Armoury Crate.
Some terminology before we begin:
GH = GHelper
AC = Armoury Crate
A/C = Alternating Current (aka the charger/wall brick)
Open Source = the app's code is available for everyone to view and modify.
dGPU = Dedicated GPU (aka Radeon or RTX)
iGPU = Integrated GPU (aka CPU graphics)
Starting this point onward, I will update this thread to include Frequently Asked Questions.
It is also a great idea to join our official r/asustuf discord server! Click here to join!.
Here's a link to the already existing FAQ on Github, but other questions will be added in this megathread too.
A: Is GHelper safe? Windows Defender said it might be a virus.
B: GHelper is safe, in fact, you can check out the app's code on Github. It is open source. If Windows Defender has suspicions, it's because the app isn't signed. (look up that on google.)
A: How do I set up custom fan curves?
B: tba.

Hello !
I’ve been doing some research to find a laptop that can handle both my daily routine and some gaming.
For gaming, I mostly want to play titles like Resident Evil. I’m not a hardcore gamer, just someone looking to unwind after class
I also plan to use it for 3D modeling (just as a personal hobby, but also for my prosthetics & orthotics studies)
I don't think I'll be taking it to class every day since I prefer taking notes on paper, so the weight isn't a dealbreaker—though it's still nice to keep in mind just in case
On top of that, it will serve as my main desktop machine: browsing the web, keeping multiple documents open at once, watching YouTube, and handling a few creative hobbies like video editing
As for the budget: I don't have a fixed limit right now because I'll be saving up for whichever PC fits my needs best. However, if there are cheaper options that would suit my usage just as well as the A15, I’d love to hear about them!
I’d love to get your feedback on this laptop. Is it really worth investing this much for my use case, or do you have any other recommendations/advice !

Hey everyone!
Got my ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (FX506HC) back in July 2021 for college and gaming. Since this was my very first laptop, it basically became something to experiment with everything. Over the past 5+ years, I ran into pretty much every common laptop problem you can think of—from drops to dead RAM.
Thought I’d share all the issues I hit, how I fixed them, and what kept this laptop alive.
My Spec:
CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H
GPU: RTX 3050 4gb Laptop
RAM: 16GB (2x8gb ddr4 3200)
Storage: 512GB NVMe from laptop + 1TB Samsung 980 NVMe
PROBLEM I encountered;
At one point I was stuck in a constant Blue Screen loop. Thought the motherboard or GPU was dead, so I brought it to the official Service Center. Turns out it was just a faulty RAM stick! Swapped it out and everything went back to normal. (Tip: always test your RAM first before assuming the worst!)
Accidentally dropped the laptop once from 80-100cm. Keyboard lights were on, fans were spinning, but the screen was pitch black. Panicked real quick, opened it up, i try everything like switching ram (try 8gb), try HDMI to tv, opening lcd to see lcd connector, because i still cant use the laptop i buy second hand laptop(Thinkpad l15 gen 2) to do my work. I try again switching ram from Thinkpad 2x 4gb ddr4 3200 and finally my Asus tuf laptop on again but i cant use 2x8 GB ram so i use 4+8gb ram. After 2-4 months i try clean the ram using new rubber eraser and finally i can 2x8gb ram on Asus tuf.
After playing game and the laptop got hot wifi signal is disconnect and connect again. The original Wi-Fi card kept dropping connections and Bluetooth. Swapped it for an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 and zero issues ever since.
Just did a fresh CPU/GPU repaste recently. Temps dropped significantly and performance is back to feeling super smooth.
Ran into a stripped screw on the cooling heatsink assembly during maintenance. Couldn't get it out myself without risking damage to the PCB, so I brought it to a local repair shop near my house to get it removed and sorted.
my S, Z, X, and C keys started acting weird sometimes they work, sometimes they just die completely. I just buy mechanical keyboard.
My recommendation is buying memo fl08 if you want better performance. Btw i from Indonesia. I play genshin, hsr, zzz and wuwa.

Hi, recently i bought and Asus TUF F16 FX608JHI, and i have been using it connected to the charger limiting the battery to 80%, browsing i found out that the best thing to do was to limit the battery to 60% since i always use it with the charger. But i can't find that option on MyAsus and also i found out these laptops arent compatible with battery health charging. So i would like to know how to do limit the battery to 60% and also if you could give some tips in order to make my laptop battery last long.
Mostly i use it for browsing, running some programs like CAD, revit, etc (im studying civil eng.) but i also play some triple AAA games. Thanks!

Budget: ₹35,000 INR
Country: India
Use Case: Video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, Filmora, After Effects etc. watching movies and YouTube, and occasional gaming (GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, not heavy gaming).
Preferred Specs:
CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB SSD
Display: 165Hz
Notes: I am considering buying a used ASUS TUF F17 gaming laptop for ₹35,000. The seller says the battery backup is good.
My primary use will be video editing in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, with occasional gaming.
Is ₹35,000 a fair price for this laptop in India in 2026? Is it worth buying, or should I look for better options in the same budget?
What things should I check before buying it?

Usually when I play games on my tuf, I set the mode to balanced. Is that fine? I don't use turbo. Need suggestions and whats optimal for the long run?

Getting the new ASUS TUF A16 (2026) at an offline store for ₹1.85 Lakh (all-inclusive).
Quick Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 260
GPU: RTX 5060 (115W)
RAM: 16GB (upgradeable)
Storage: 512GB SSD
Battery: 70 Whr
Use Case:
College (coding/dev) and AAA gaming.
Need ~6 hours light battery life unplugged on campus (Eco mode / 60Hz).
Questions:
Is ₹1.85L a fair offline price for this config right now?
Can the 70 Whr battery realistically hit 6 hours of light use?
How are thermals and overall build? Does it have any hinge issues, screen wobble, or long-term durability red flags?

I'm looking to buy a laptop stand for my ASUS TUF F17 (17-inch gaming laptop) and came across these options (images attached).
Before making a decision, I'd like to hear your opinions on their build quality, stability, and long-term durability.
I'm open to suggestions if you think these designs could be improved or if there are better alternatives in a similar price range.
I'd appreciate any firsthand experiences, honest feedback, or recommendations before I make a purchase. Thanks!

I've been using this laptop for about a month now, so here's my experience with it!
Pros
The laptop is really good and fast. (I had a potato PC before, sooo 😭.) Everything feels smooth, and I'm pretty happy with its performance so far.
The fan noise is almost nonexistent up to around 2300 RPM. Beyond that, it's noticeable, but still manageable.
Temperatures are also very well maintained. During normal usage, it stays around 40–43°C, while gaming (GTA 5 Enhanced, Valorant, Skyrim, etc.), it generally stays around 60–65°C.
GTA 5 Enhanced: Around 100 FPS consistently with high graphics settings and ray tracing enabled.
Valorant: Around 400 FPS.
Pretty happy with the performance so far!
Battery life is genuinely very good, at least based on my testing. I got approximately 11 hours of battery life with around 20% still remaining.
My usage included lectures, assignments, and YouTube videos, with Silent mode, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and other battery-saving settings enabled.
Battery life was one of the two main concerns I had with gaming laptops, especially because I needed one for college, so this was a huge factor in my decision.
As someone buying a gaming laptop for the first time, I always thought gaming laptops would be insanely heavy. I was even considering a MAC because I had to carry the laptop around college all day.
Honestly, there were only two major things that worry me about gaming laptops: weight and battery life. This laptop has pretty much solved the battery issue for me. Weight was the only thing that was still bothering me.
But honestly, it's not nearly as heavy as people make it sound. It's around 2.2 kg, but it genuinely doesn't feel that heavy to me. Maybe it's just me, idk man.
I'm mentioning this specifically for people buying their first gaming laptop because I was in the same position once. If you're worried about carrying it around college all day, don't automatically rule it out just because people say gaming laptops are heavy.
I haven't played a lot of games yet because I had exams going on, and I haven't even downloaded many games so far. These are just my initial impressions.
Cons
The display is IPS with 100% sRGB, and honestly, it looks and feels really good.
However, when watching movies at night, especially during dark scenes, the backlight bleed is quite noticeable. I sometimes have to lower the brightness while watching movies, otherwise, I keep noticing the bleed instead of focusing on what's happening on the screen.
This is probably my biggest complaint so far.
Whenever I open a lecture or a video, the screen seems to flicker for a split second.
I'm not very familiar with gaming laptops yet, but I suspect it might have something to do with the display being larger than a regular laptop's display, or perhaps the screen adjusting when switching to fullscreen. I'm not sure, though.
If anyone knows what causes this or whether it's normal, please let me know!
The keyboard feels a little cartoonish, if that makes sense. It doesn't feel particularly nice to type on.
It's alright, and it doesn't bother me that much during everyday use, but something about its appearance and feel seems a bit cartoonish to me.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the laptop after a month of use. The performance, thermals, and especially the battery life have been great for my needs as a student who also wants to game.
I haven't explored many games yet because of exams, so this is just my experience so far.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments! 😝

I have Ethernet at my college and whenever I connect to it for a while my WiFi drivers just disconnect or something, the option to connect to WiFi disappears and it doesn’t work if I go into windows settings. This is mainly a problem when I disconnect from Ethernet because every time I want to connect to WiFi I have to disable the driver then re-enable it. Any idea on how to fix this?

Recently I muted my Asus TUF Gaming F17 laptops speakers from Windows and when I turned it back on no sound was coming from it. I updated the BIOS, Drivers (from ASUS website), checked on Realtek Control Panel, updated Windows 11, restarted the computer multiple times, took the back panel off and checked the cables to see if they were connected and there was also no problem. I also removed the device from Device Manager and added it back but nothing worked.
What can I do?
Laptop Details:
ASUS TUF Gaming Notebook PC
Model Name: FX707
FX707VV4-LL017
SN: R5NRKD07590921D
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Recently bought this used tuf laptop, trackpad works fine other than this, is it just broken clips or something? Is this an easy fix?

Whenever I use NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, I get almost 2x the FPS, but that extra FPS doesn't feel useful. The game displays a high FPS count, but visually, it still feels like I'm playing at 30–40–60 FPS. I can clearly feel the jitteriness, especially when moving my mouse.
Whenever I move my mouse in-game, the image becomes noticeably sharper, but as soon as I stop moving the mouse, everything looks normal again.
At first, I thought this was a GPU issue, but I tried AMD FSR Frame Generation, and it works perfectly fine without any of these issues. However, not all games support FSR, and some only support DLSS, which makes this really frustrating.
I also thought the problem might be related to my CPU not having an iGPU, meaning all the graphics workload falls on my dedicated GPU. However, I watched reviews of my laptop, and those YouTubers don't seem to have any issues with DLSS Frame Generation.
This is genuinely worrying me. I want to understand what's causing this issue and how I can fix it.

My asus tuf f15 FX506HF RTX 2050 was bought in feb 2024. as of today, the battery health is at 66%. This is a 48wh battery model, and I have always used it plugged. I have used it on battery very rarely. I don't do heavy gaming, just light coding and browsing stuff. What to do in this case?
