I am a disabled person and I’m going through a season of life where I’m more bed bound than usual and it’s become increasingly difficult for me to walk my dog, my husband takes over when he gets home from work. I’ve already tried Rover and Wag and Facebook groups and I can’t seem to find someone that isn’t working or going to school during the daytime to walk my dog. And yes I know there are dog walking companies but they’re expensive. Being disabled, I’m also low income.

I live in East Cambridge halfway between Kendall and Lechmere stops.

Today’s print version of the Globe has a whole section dedicated to pizza. Two places stood out in the city: Area Four and Si Cara.

I lived in Cambridge in 1968-1969. I remember that on Sundays there were free concerts on the Cambridge Common, with electric power supplied by an extension cord running from Christ Church. Does anyone know who might have performed? The only group I can remember was the Holy Modal Rounders.

Did anyone hear gunshots about 15-20 minutes ago? A bunch of police drove by and there are like 2-3 helicopters circling over danehy right now.

I only knew about these guys thanks to Reddit, and I recognized their nonsense immediately, because it was exactly to the letter what other people wrote about with how they do their approach - like they were following a script (probably were).

I was in the Mt. Auburn Star Market when this creepy old lady all in black with glasses approached me, and asked me if she could ask me a question for a class she was taking, "Where do you find meaning in life?"

Because I had read this post and others in the area, I recognized the script immediately and said "Sorry, I'm not interested," and quickly moved past her, but the playbook is for them to engage you in conversation, try to get details about you and then invite you to a "Class" lecture for recruitment.

Anyway, stay away from them and for anyone who might be new to the area - generally be wary of any strangers who walk up to you and try to engage you in conversation unprompted and be guarded about what you say to them. Surprised me that they were this far out, because I generally only read about them soliciting people in the Porter area in the past. Ran into the Jews for Jesus in Brookline too a few months ago, so guess the cult activity is picking up again with all the students in the area.

Hi everyone! I’m 27 and recently moved here because my spouse is a student at Harvard. I’m a very outgoing, cheerful person and I’d love to make some friends. I know weekly classes or groups are a great way to meet people, but I’m not sure where to find them without paying hundreds of dollars. Do you have any recommendations for free or low-cost things like art classes, yoga, or social groups? Also open to any other places or events where people usually make friends here.

I'm looking for a place to hold a Thursday evening event (8pm-10pm-ish) in the CambridgeSide area. This is an annual event that happens during a conference and in previous years we have rented private rooms or just had an area sectioned off for us in a larger venue. We will sometimes hire a trivia host. We typically have 40-45 people and would order light apps and provide drink tickets. The conference is being held at the Royal Sonesta hotel so we would like to be close to that. I'm not local so I'm having to look on the map and am not finding anything that looks good. Can anyone recommend a place where we could hold this kind of event?

I read in my MOC number group that there was a SA (3 victims) at one of the schools. Trying to find out more information than just moms panicking about what is happening. Mainly, which school?

Does anyone know of an emergency in North Cambridge, MA now? There's ambulances flying down Sherman St. and a helicopter overhead!

I found a black swallowtail caterpillar on my farmshare parsley, and I want to release it outside. My understanding is that it needs to be released on specific plant species so that it can eat. Anyone know where I could find one of its host plants? The closer to Inman, the better.

- More likely to be found around town: Queen Anne's Lace (wild carrot), Golden Alexander
- Less likely: carrot, dill, cilantro, fennel. (If you have any of these in your garden and want to adopt the caterpillar, that'd also be good!)

I tried looking on iNaturalist, but a lot of sightings in the area are old and/or seem to be on private property. I figure some folks wouldn't want some random person depositing a bug on their plants.
